While I realize it was a slightly cheaper room. ( paid 55 and used my hotels.com rewards of almost 30) we arrived at the hotel late and were informed the pool was closed for repairs, there was no internet and no cable. I definitely feel that should have been information disclosed on the listing for the hotel. The overall hotel needs to be cleaned, the carpet in our room was absolutely disgusting.

We were charged a fee for extra people. 2 adults and 2 kids in a room with two beds. Thats not extra. I tried to get this fixed and holiday inn said they don’t even have a charge like this and this is a fee Expedia charges? We found adult ticks crawling on the bed. The elevator was broken and you had to go outside to use the stairs. The pool had been broken and was cold. We wont be booking through Expedia or using the holiday inn again.

Busy weekend in Kalamazoo and they only had one person working the front desk. Had a line out the door. The manager came out to help with something, helped then disappeared. Lobby was busy, person at the counter kept interrupting check ins to ring people up for drinks and snacks. Rather then finishing with the person who was there first. Elevator was out of service. Stairs are only available by accessing outdoors.

So I took my 15 year old autistic son to holiday inn in Kalamazoo Michigan to go swimming however when I got there I learned that the pool was closed due to technical difficulties so we had to walk across the parking lot to the other holiday inn building and when I got there my key to get in the pool didn’t even work smh and because I went through hotels.com there was nothing they could do for me the staff however was very nice and gave me and my son free breakfast for our last morning there because I booked two night so at the end of the day I’ll never ever book another hotel through this company again

Check in was performed in a monotonous mantra. Entire bar, dining room, & kitchen staffed by ONE PERSON. Children allowed to run unattended, no guest directory in room. All in all a disappointing visit where I felt unappreciated as a guest.

My husband and I stayed one night because of a wedding we were attending in the area. The room was very clean and decorated in a sleek and modern style. We were pleasantly surprised that there was a microwave and refrigerator in the room, as they were not listed in the room amenities. The staff were professional and polite. The bed was comfortable. We were impressed at the number of plug ins and usb ports on the nightstands on both sides of the bed, allowing us to charge all our devices conveniently within reach. No continental breakfast, but that was ok with us, and we didn’t take advantage of the restaurant on site, but it is a nice option for those interested. We would definitely recommend the hotel to others and look forward to staying there again in the future!

Table next to bed had crumbs or something on it- not clean. No desk chair and no hair dryer in room. Went down to front desk- did not want to get charged for missing items. Not satisfactory response. Sink did not drain - missing pop up drain fixture on sink/fixture. Stayed at this property or the holiday inn Express across the street numerous times, but this property not being kept up.

Very quiet, NEWER, property. I never heard one other guest, good quality construction. I got a 2 room suite it has 2 tvs and lots of room. Highly recommended! Enjoyed my stay for my daughter’s college tour nearby. The only downfall there was no iron in the room upon arrival . That was quickly resolved. The only other thing was that the TV didn’t work for the two nights I was there. I called the front desk and they said someone would come up and they never did.

The room was clean however the hotel seems a bit under staffed. Most of the front desk workers were not very friendly- as in they did not smile or make us feel like we were welcome in the hotel. We had to go to the front desk to get towels, our room was not cleaned and the sheets for the pull out couch did not fit the mattress. Also the mattress on the pull out couch was in poor condition and was very uncomfortable. The hotel itself did look nice and it was close to restaurants and stores which was nice. I might book here again because we enjoyed having a separate bedroom and the small kitchen area but if I found another hotel with the same amenities I would definitely check that one out first.

The room and bed itself were nice and comfy. Love the mini fridge and microwave in the room. However, bathroom needs a makeover for sure though, too outdated. The body wash and hand wash dispensers was either running out of soap or stuck and we had to keep pumping out shampoo to wash our hands or clean our entire bodies with :(

Called to confirm late check in and double queen room availability (what i booked months in advance). The employee noted it in the system and said see you in 6 hours. 1 hour before arrival a different employee called and asked if we were still coming. Obviously my answer was yes and the employee proceeded to tell me there were no double queens left. With no other choice at midnight on a Tuesday I agreed to a King room with cot. Arrived at the hotel and front desk staff was ignorant. We got to the room to find no cot and no sheets for the pullout couch. 20 minutes later the front desk staff called saying he forgot to give us sheets and would bring them up. The stains on the pullout couch forced two grown men to sleep in the king bed together after a 12 hour drive. Zero hospitality at this establishment. Even the entire line of sodas on the wall in the lobby was expired. We love holiday inn (usually express) but this was a terrible experience.

The hotel was nice and easy to get to for our weekend trip. The only downfall was we got there at 2am and the concierge was no where to be seen, we were there for 15 minutes knocking on the door and hitting the ring button, no one answered so I went across the street to another IHG and he tried to help, then the concierge at our hotel walked out to smoke then said “yeah check-in, come on in” then was complaining that we didn’t get there sooner. Sorry sir we have a baby and had to make multiple stops on our way here… also he had thrown about 29 cigarettes in the trash by the elevator, so it smelled like cigarettes and I know they were his because they still smelled fresh… Go smoke out back in the smoking patio not our front and don’t throw your cigarettes in the trash by the elevator. Otherwise the hotel was 10/10 he just needs fired lol

I went to the front desk after 1-1/2hrs and asked about our room and they finally said that they would Give us our rooms. If. The property is fine but somewhat off of the beaten path. No complaints except for me, it is a bit pricey to just use as a bedroom for 7 hours a night and nothing else. As a vegan they do not offer much of anything that fits my wants or that could be built into a meal.

This is my go to hotel when visiting my daughter at WMU. Staff has always been very friendly. Location is convenient and parking is great. Rooms are comfortable and clean. My only complaint would be the shower doors are SO heavy and sometimes difficult to move. Otherwise, great stay!

Our room was comfortable and clean. But we think the extra charge for the breakfast room is unacceptable. It isn't a restaurant with table service. The breakfast is no different than any other hotel breakfast that is provided at no extra charge with the stay. We will avoid staying at this hotel on our future frequent visits to Kalamazoo.

No continental breakfast. Stayed here w a school sport team and had to go into town to feed everyone instead of $13 breakfast at the restaurant in the hotel. Cable was out. Not the fault of the hotel, but nothing to notify us (I had to ask how to get the tv to work), and even after that not a mention of a credit/ discount anything for the inconvenience.

The night staff worker tried his best to help, but in the end this single night here was awful. It took an hour and many trips to many rooms to find one with working AC. And then, when we finally got into a room that seemed clean and had AC, it became clear as i settled in that it was not clean. No toilet paper. Towels askew. Dirty socks in the closet. But it was late and one of the two beds seemed unused so I crawled in wearing all my clothes and went to sleep. Ick.

The hotel was over booked according to the desk clerk. They put signs on the windows after 9pm saying they were over booked and would not be honoring even prepaid reservation. We Witnessed several people being turned away. At one point the police were called to escort out an upset guest. We were very disappointed that the restaurant was closed for our stay. The desk attendant said it was due to the July 4th Holiday. That was not acceptable to me as a guest. We had to go out and get food instead of eating in the hotel. We had no advance warning. The television was so old, it was not a smart Tv. Had to go to target and buy a Roku so we could watch what we wanted on TV. The hotel is not that old but did not seem like the owners were interested in having it updated. The door to our room was not level so we had to push hard on it to open. We stay in hotels and BNB’s all over the country and this was a disappointment. We did not have power at home due to a storm but we choose a different Hotel farther from home for the rest of our power outage. The staff was far from friendly when checking out. (Woman) The guy who was at the desk when we checked in kept complaining to us and other guests that he was the only one there (evening July 4th) and was over worked. We would not stay here again. Lots of disappointments.

We got to the hotel at three. The man took us up to our room. The room was never cleaned. He was going to just straighten the bed and call it good. I told him no, then he opened the bathroom door to find dirty bath towels on the floor. So we told him we would be back later. When we got back to our room it was cleaned. I went to use the bathroom afterwards wanting to wash my hands but there was no hand soap. My husband went to get the soap and there was no one around to ask about it. In the morning we went for breakfast at $14 a person, but there was very little food out on the bar. They were way understaffed . I would not recommend this place.
