access code check in was great, there are loads of restaurants and pubs just a walk away. the rooftop hot tub and swim spa did not have fully working jets. the stream room did not work. the gym was nice and had lots to do. you need to bring your own coffee and tea for your room as non are offered. the bed was really comfy for a murphy bed

We had an amazing weekend at Boxotel. The room was clean, spacious and well stocked with everything needed in the kitchen. The hotel operations manager Nabil was so helpful and kind. The continental breakfast was lovely (hint: cut a croissant in half and put the Quebec cheese in between and microwave for a few seconds - simple and tasty). The gym and spa were perfect and we enjoyed both during our stay.

The café was amazing to sit and have coffee and snacks in the morning! Loved all the plants and ambiance. The dry sauna and steam room were fantastic as well! Unfortunately the rooftop hot tub was out of service during our stay. The staff we interacted with were very friendly and professional. Our room was great, loved the bathtub, shower, makeup mirror and toiletries provided! As it was a rainy weekend and we were out and about, it was great having a washer and dryer in the room! Mattress and bedding/pillows were also nice and comfy. Highly recommend and will stay here again on another visit to MTL😊

Awesome stay. I received the most friendly welcome ever in this Aparthotel. Gym is a bit crap if you take your work out seriously and the spa i a bit a joke but hey, all the rest was great.

2nd stay at Boxotel. Unfortunately, it was not as good as last time. Room was clean, hotel was "fine" but it has lost its sparkle. Also - the main reason we booked again, the roof top jaccuzi / spa (which is what teuly justifies the price of this place) was not working / "out of service indefinitely". This was not communicated to us at any point until we got our bathing suits on and went to the roof and saw the hand written sign. Apparently its been out a few weeks now, so would have been nice to have been informed prior to arrival - as i would have booked another hotel. At almost 300 a night, absolutely not worth it. Otherwise, the place is fine. Staff are doing their best, I know its not their fault. C'est la vie I guess.

Staff were polite and it is a well thought out hotel, but is sadly in disrepair, mostly their terrace . There was a broken bench (turned upside down and just left in the middle of the walkway ), dead plants and the hot tub was out of service. Stains on carpeting in hall.

Staff was wonderful and the property was extremely clean and nice. Unfortunately my car was broken into outside of the hotel so just make sure you park in a parking lot with cameras as opposed to parking on the street.

The location is very good, close enough to clusters of restaurants and entertainment, but far enough to be quiet, easy walking. The room itself is as shown in the photo and very clean. My wife and I were very comfortable for the 2 days we stayed there. The only thing I would say is that the morning breakfast area could be better, it's a mismatch to the place. Being in Montreal, we were expected fresh croissants/ pastries , which I am sure is easy enough to find from local vendors. It was a big issue for us, but this is my recommendation to the management, to make it a Montreal experience, this small touch will please the guests I am sure. I parked my car across the street in the paid parking, costs $20/day. For added security, there is underground parking a block away with the university for $15/day. We would stay here again.

Boxotel is the cleanest most attentive boutique hotel we’ve ever stayed at! It’s the very first hotel to think of the smallest detail such as a dark towel specifically embroidered to say Makeup! I bring my own makeup towel when I travel because I don’t want to dirty the beautiful white ones provided. They’re stocked with toiletries, the washroom was so clean, the bed was super comfortable - we couldn’t ask for more. Carlos the manager was so kind, we shared some great morning coffee chats. There is an array of plants at the entrance, we really felt at home. We didn’t have time to enjoy the amenities unfortunately but we walked around and everything is so well looked after. It’s hard to believe they’ve been around for 8 years! Don’t even think twice - book your room at Boxotel!

About 15min walk after getting off the 747 bus from the airport. Staff only available after 10am. Very minimal service. Must need a passcode to enter. If you want to leave your luggage at the place before 10am, you need to call the number on the door to gain access. The room is equipped with a full kitchen. Hair and 1 bug found on bed sheet. I won't say this is a hotel such the min service. Good complimentary cookies at the counter. There's better ones out there with the price I paid.

Everything about our stay was perfect. The hotel was impeccably clean and well designed. Most of it is self serve which made it feel like home. The lobby was always fully stocked with snacks and great coffee and espresso, and the manager was always close by if you needed anything. The rooms had literally everything you need: fully stocked kitchenette, dishwasher, microwave, coffee machine, pots/pans, washer/dryer, dish-ware, fridge/freezer, ice, you name it. As a bonus, the entire facility was minimal waste and very eco-conscious. We can’t wait to come back!

Wow!!! I LOVE this hotel! Super clean (and I am picky), very quiet, extremely well thougt out room, very well eqipped including dishwasher, washer/dryer, yoga mat/yoga block, wonderful hamam and sauna, nice rooftop terrace,outstanding client service from Terri and Nabir (which sets it apart from other self serve aparthotels).I cant say enough nice things about this place! I have already booked for my next visit. Nice area just outside of Downtown and short walk to Metro. Highly recomended!

Super cool and high tech hotel. It's amazing to see what exists to make homes and stays smarter for their user. The programmed lights and the automated curtains are the best thing in the room. You have to be very comfortable with the people on your room, the frosted glass is not as opaque as I thought. The room and the hotel are very minimalistic, but they have everything you need to have an amazing stay. I didn't think it would be worth the price, especially during the weekends but it is quite a unique experience, I wouldn't hesitate to come back during weekdays.

We absolutely loved our stay at Boxotel. Our room was beautiful and had a lot of nice touches that made for a comfortable experience. However, staying as a couple was awkward with the bathroom situation. The bathroom is enclosed by plexiglass which is easy to see through at any point in the rest of the room. The door also had a large gap in it. The combo making for virtually no privacy. My only other complaint was that the rooms were concrete floors but there were no slippers provided. Despite these two things, I would still consider staying again!

Liked the downtown proximity from the hotel and the cleanliness. However, the bed could have been firmer and when staying in a room viewing the street-side, the noise at night was loud (especially pertaining to the multiple sirens)

When I booked this hotel it was marketed as contactless and automatic, no staff on site, very high tech. When I arrived I immediately had an issue checking in through their web-portal, despite a security check they initiated via email, 72 hours prior. I simply could not get into the building using the passcode provided. I ended up calling their support and someone let me into the building and had me wait in a lobby area for 15-20 minutes. A nice man showed up and explained they “have issues with the web-portal and don’t really use it”. The issue was the portal did not request a credit card needed for security if booked through a third party. I gave a credit card, they made sure it was good and I got my passcode. Annoying after a red eye flight and killing 5 hours until the 3pm check in but understandable. The Good: -lovely clean room with a concrete, industrial aesthetic -comfortable bed -very nice, accommodating staff -great location with 10-15 minutes walk to downtown; restaurants and pubs much closer The Not So Good: -a victim of its own designed high-tech, I realized at 11pm the automatic blinds did not work, nor the tv (no cable or streaming) and the lights were tricking (one button off/on for all room lights sometimes did not work. I slept with the blinds open (i did not want to break them by manually closing them). Inexplicably one light would not turn off so slept with it on -the next day I mentioned all these things and was given a new room (tv and streaming worked

Great facility overall. Photo of pool is a bit misleading - very small jacuzzi, but very pleasant rooftop deck. Bathroom walls were transparent and no sound proofing- so a little awkward sharing the room with a friend. Loved the coffee machine- would have been nice to have some tea and instant coffee available in the room. I really enjoyed the simplicity and cleanliness. Room is perfect for a ypung family to prepare food and for laundry. I really liked it on the whole!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We had an amazing weekend at Boxotel. The room was clean, spacious and well stocked with everything needed in the kitchen. The hotel operations manager Nabil was so helpful and kind. The continental breakfast was lovely (hint: cut a croissant in half and put the Quebec cheese in between and microwave for a few seconds - simple and tasty). The gym and spa were perfect and we enjoyed both during our stay.

I had an incredible stay at this hotel! Nabil went above and beyond with exceptional customer service, and every staff member I encountered was so helpful and friendly. The hotel itself was spotless, beautifully designed, and very comfortable. The location was also perfect—just a 10-minute walk to the heart of downtown and about 20 minutes to Old Montreal, the Old Port, and Notre Dame. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Montreal.

Everything is accessed through the app which makes everything quick and convenient. I messaged for a late check out and they responded within a minute and confirmed that it was ok. We did see a staff member in the lobby and she was extremely nice and gave us advice on where to go in Montreal, very happy with our stay!

Location: couple blocks away from the Berri station, St Laurent station, and Saint Catherine Street. Room: Suite which is king size bed, a mini living room area, fully stocked kitchen, washer/dryer, dishwasher, super nice bathroom and even a yoga mat for relaxation. Smart controlled the whole room. Next to the road, so all weekend I heard all the construction and the loud noises from the corridor and from the street till 3am. Check-in: need to have a code to access the building. There was staff inside watching me struggle to get in instead of helping me with the process. She was helpful with the location of the elevator though. Saturday - experienced power outage around 12:40am. Called twice the number of the website and nobody responded. Left a message on the website and Expedia and no response. Around 1.30am the power came back on and I was finally able to sleep. Checkout - Inconsistent signs on when to checkout which made it confusing. I checked out at 11am since cause I didnt want to get charged for the late checkout fee (since there’s nobody at the lobby to ask) I think I would stay again if they change the way the staff interacts with the customers. Leave a proper working phone number if customers have questions or problems.

Once inside, I was surprised there was no front desk. I had no idea what room I was in. I called Expedia, with whom I booked the hotel, and they couldn't tell me. Finally checked my email and discovered a phone number. Nice gentleman told me the answers were there. I thought the email was simply a 'welcome.' From there. I was fine.

When I booked this hotel it was marketed as contactless and automatic, no staff on site, very high tech. When I arrived I immediately had an issue checking in through their web-portal, despite a security check they initiated via email, 72 hours prior. I simply could not get into the building using the passcode provided. I ended up calling their support and someone let me into the building and had me wait in a lobby area for 15-20 minutes. A nice man showed up and explained they “have issues with the web-portal and don’t really use it”. The issue was the portal did not request a credit card needed for security if booked through a third party. I gave a credit card, they made sure it was good and I got my passcode. Annoying after a red eye flight and killing 5 hours until the 3pm check in but understandable. About 15min walk after getting off the 747 bus from the airport. Staff only available after 10am. Very minimal service. Must need a passcode to enter. If you want to leave your luggage at the place before 10am, you need to call the number on the door to gain access. The room is equipped with a full kitchen. Hair and 1 bug found on bed sheet. I won't say this is a hotel such the min service. Good complimentary cookies at the counter. There's better ones out there with the price I paid.

Staff was wonderful and the property was extremely clean and nice. Unfortunately my car was broken into outside of the hotel so just make sure you park in a parking lot with cameras as opposed to parking on the street.

The location is very good, close enough to clusters of restaurants and entertainment, but far enough to be quiet, easy walking. The room itself is as shown in the photo and very clean. My wife and I were very comfortable for the 2 days we stayed there. The only thing I would say is that the morning breakfast area could be better, it's a mismatch to the place. Being in Montreal, we were expected fresh croissants/ pastries , which I am sure is easy enough to find from local vendors. It was a big issue for us, but this is my recommendation to the management, to make it a Montreal experience, this small touch will please the guests I am sure. I parked my car across the street in the paid parking, costs $20/day. For added security, there is underground parking a block away with the university for $15/day. We would stay here again.

Unfortunately there is major roadworks outside the hotel, hence noise from 8am until 7:30pm. We managed to move to the 3rd floor where at least there was not as much dust in the air.

The hotel is located at a perfect location near of place de arts and Montreal Jazz festival venues only 8 minutes walk, we love it, the staff is amazing above and beyond, the spa included super nice sauna and steam shower, the super expresso machine for coffee available all day is a plus and also the pastry. Love the entire property eco friendly and modern at the same time. Next time we come to Montreal definitely stay at Boxotel again.

Great location - a few minutes walk to a busy strip of restaurants and bars. Parking is convenient enough, we arrived on a saturday evening and were able to park in the lot across the street. The rooftop hot tub and lounge area is very nice.

Conveniently located near busy areas, this is a new building in an otherwise older and what some might consider a rougher type of neighbourhood. To me, this comes with the territory of being near busy areas, just be realistic about your expectations. I did come back a few times to find a homeless person in the entrance seeking shelter. New building with very high tech things like power curtains, sit stand desk, nice shower, very comfy bed. Might take a lil bit of tinkering to figure it all out, so maybe an instruction sheet would have been helpful. I can see there was a lot of attention to the little details and they were appreciated. The check in process was easy, just called a number and i was texted an access code to enter the building. This felt more like an air bnb which was great, very minimal interaction with staff as there is no front desk (which i actually prefer), but be prepared to be self sufficient in that regard. There is a parking lot directly across from the hotel for $20/day, which is super reasonable. I wish this was included as part of the communication cuz i paid for Street parking first before I realized this super convenient lot was there. The hot tub was closed but we were there in mid April so i guess i could understand why it might not have been quite open yet. Wish they did allow smoking on the roof top deck, don't really see the harm in it. Nice little touches throughout so will definitely consider staying here again.

However the instructions for controlling the thermostat were lacking. Staff onsite had to call to figure it out. The surrounding area was a little seedy; it seemed like the beginning of gentrification, but it was conveniently located near downtown and I didn't feel unsafe.

Loved this property. Will definitely stay again. Great location within walking distance to many must see places and locales. If walking not your thing it’s a good location for Uber pickups (not to costly). The only thing it noted a lite selection of pastries and fruit in the details for morning and it was not available when we stayed…but the coffee was great and our kitchenette was helpful (just needed to take a stroll to the grocery store). The roof top area and mindfulness area was a great place to unwind and relax after a day of exploring the city.

Boxotel was great place to stay during our 3 days in Montreal. Our apartment was spacious and had everything that made it feel like home. The gym, spa, sauna and Turkish steam bath were also great. The café was amazing to sit and have coffee and snacks in the morning! Loved all the plants and ambiance. The dry sauna and steam room were fantastic as well! Unfortunately the rooftop hot tub was out of service during our stay. The staff we interacted with were very friendly and professional. Our room was great, loved the bathtub, shower, makeup mirror and toiletries provided! As it was a rainy weekend and we were out and about, it was great having a washer and dryer in the room! Mattress and bedding/pillows were also nice and comfy. Highly recommend and will stay here again on another visit to MTL😊

I really enjoyed this clean, modern hotel--it was affordable and the rooms have cool, modern touches. It's not a full service luxury hotel but coffee and snacks are available in the lobby. The proprietors couldn't have been nicer and let us stash our stuff there on the last day, and also found a few items we forgot int the rooms. If we'd had another day we would have bought groceries at the market and cooked a meal in the full room kitchen to eat on the roof, but it was a quick trip. If I make it back to Monteal I'll stay here again

The hotel is located at a perfect location near of place de arts and Montreal Jazz festival venues only 8 minutes walk, we love it, the staff is amazing above and beyond, the spa included super nice sauna and steam shower, the super expresso machine for coffee available all day is a plus and also the pastry. Love the entire property eco friendly and modern at the same time. Next time we come to Montreal definitely stay at Boxotel again.

Everything about our stay was perfect. The hotel was impeccably clean and well designed. Most of it is self serve which made it feel like home. The lobby was always fully stocked with snacks and great coffee and espresso, and the manager was always close by if you needed anything. The rooms had literally everything you need: fully stocked kitchenette, dishwasher, microwave, coffee machine, pots/pans, washer/dryer, dish-ware, fridge/freezer, ice, you name it. As a bonus, the entire facility was minimal waste and very eco-conscious. We can’t wait to come back!

The room was spacious and had everything we could possibly need. Staff were friendly and helpful. The coffee in the room was better than a lot of hotels and at the breakfast area was even better. Location was good with easy access to parking and a short walk to great dining options on St Denis street. We’d stay there again if it available the next time we’re in Montreal.
