Very low quality breakfast. There was very basic continental options and the atmosphere of breakfast was grim. All tables were draped in black cloth. Looked like we were at a funeral.

Firstly can I say the staff were fabulous and very accommodating! It was the hotel itself that’s in need of some tlc. I paid extra for a nicer room, my friend had booked the more basic room so was interesting to see that both our rooms were identical except for the decor. Our room (142) had a horrendous smell of sewerage coming from the bathroom. The hotel must be aware of this as there was a plug in air freshener to disguise the smell in our room but not in our friends room where one wasn’t required. The tv in our room didn’t work. It would switch on but nothing else would happen. I didn’t inform staff as we were out most the day and only stayed one night. Also the shower in our room was scolding hot. I went to wash my hair and eventually gave up as I couldn’t stick the heat. Obviously turned the tap to cold and this made zero difference. Again I didn’t mention as we only stayed the one night. Shame as it had potential to be a lovely stay. Beds were comfy!

Very dark - barely any lighting. Dust on bedside tables, scuffs on dressing table and walls. Cracked tiles in the bathroom. Wouldn't stay again.

Beautiful rooms, really spacious and oppulent. The only issue we had was that hotels.com hadn't released the money to the hotel despite taking it in full from me months before. When we arrived to check in it created a big problem due to 'non payment' - I would definitely recommend staying here, but would not book through hotels.com. The hotel will price match whatever rate you get online
