The Inn was quaint, cozy room, nice breakfast area with lit fireplace, coffee always available. Breakfast of tasty pastries, and home made cookies in the evening. The innkeeper was pleasant,very helpful, friendly, and provided info about the island. The Inn was a 10 minute walk from the ferry, and 5 minutes from downtown. Nice to not have to deal with our car.

Staying at The Martin Inn was nothing short of magical, and I cannot say enough about how perfect my experience was. From the moment I arrived, I felt at home—and was immediately welcomed with warm, freshly baked cookies courtesy of David, the innkeeper. That small gesture set the tone for the entire stay: thoughtful, personal. The inn itself is stunning, but what really makes it exceptional is the people. David is truly the heart and soul of The Martin Inn. He went above and beyond in every way, from anticipating needs before I had to ask, to offering incredible local recommendations, to creating an atmosphere that felt both luxurious and welcoming. The housekeeping team also deserves recognition—they were kind, attentive, and clearly hardworking, keeping everything spotless and comfortable throughout my stay. Every morning, breakfast was a highlight—The amenities were top-notch, but the backyard stole my heart: a cozy fire pit for evenings, an outdoor shower that felt wonderfully refreshing, and plenty of chairs to relax and take in the Nantucket charm. It was the perfect balance of relaxation and luxury. The Martin Inn is, without question, a true gem on Nantucket. But what makes it unforgettable is the team behind it—especially David.Quite frankly, he is the reason I can’t wait to come back, and I hope ownership recognizes what an irreplaceable asset they have in him. I would recommend The Martin Inn to anyone, and I’m already counting down the days until my return!

Hotel was nice, but not worth the money. They advertise that they have a widows walk on the roof, in reality it’s been closed for years. The photographs show many lush gardens, they have not been kept to that level. There’s nothing really wrong with the hotel, but it’s not worth the money they’re charging. For that price point you would be much better off at 21 Broad Street.

Great location, far enough from the town center to be quiet but close enough for an easy stroll. The continental breakfast was nice. Plenty of pastries, fruit, granola, etc. Hot chocolate was available for those who don’t drink coffee or tea. Cookies are set out in the afternoon. You must enjoy a sunrise from the widow’s walk. Looking out over the lighthouse and Harbor was breathtaking. I stayed in Room 1 on the first floor right next to the front door. The bedroom door could be a little more sturdy with a more secure lock and sound proofing around the edges. The posting said there was onsite parking and this is not the case. Not a huge deal for off season travelers but was inconvenient when I decided to rent a car for one day to explore the entire island. This was my first time visiting Nantucket and I can’t wait to go back. If Martin House Inn is available, I would gladly stay there again.

Nice Inn close to town. Not a great value for the dollar but probably average for Nantucket. Would not recommend to anyone with mobility issues as rooms require a walk upstairs and exterior stairs pretty steep. Comfortable bedding and decor.

The staff was superb and very inviting, accommodating, and friendly. The rooms were very quaint, stoic, and well designed with plenty of space. The only minor issue are the steep steps to enter the inn as you must be very careful both walking up and down the stairs.

Nice property, however the roof deck was missing and I did not see any "snacks" like cheese and crackers put out in the evening. The morning breakfast is continental but a nice spread. The location is great to walk to town for shopping and dining!

The only complaints are minor -the manager seemed grumpy and obtuse and the complimentary breakfast was low budget. Fewer higher quality ingredients would be better than a wide variety of breakfast junk food.

Lovely clean bedroom. Overall a lovely, quiet, lowkey place and process. Just perfect for what we were looking for. Calm, quiet vibes. We met Dave when we arrived half an hour early and our room was ready.

Great stay, very clean property.

We LOVED our stay. The innkeeper, Cindy, was so kind and gracious. She had cookies laid out each afternoon and a delicious breakfast each morning. The Inn was quiet and nice. We did the shared bathroom option, and it was always clean. Walking distance from steps beach and then downtown. We loved our stay! Would highly recommend it.

The location was an easy walk to and from the ferry for me, and I found the room cozy and well equipped. It was a blustery March day and I was happy for the excellent baseboard heating as well.

The room was average. No TV; Bathroom was okay ...

The Martin house was clean and the room was spacious and well decorated. I particularly liked the walk-in shower. Unfortunately, the room I chose did not have a television (but it is quite possible that others on the property do have one). I was a bit dissapointed in the breakfast. It was more of a continental breakfast and the pastry the second day was a bit stale. Other than that, my stay was enjoyable.

I had the smallest room in the property, which was fine since it was the least expensive and that’s what I wanted, but the single bed mattress was cur in such a way that I rolled out of the bed two times onto the floor. And there was no television. Even a small TV would have at least been appreciated. Had we had bad weather or I didn’t feel well. Other than my iPhone, I had no way to know what was going on in the world nor the forecasted weather. This was a great inconvenience. Television sets are so inexpensive now , I wish kind of amazed. I was going to take the ferry across to Cape Cod and I had no idea what weather to expect.

Pros: Great location, friendly staff, nicely decorated, breakfast included. Cons: Tiny bathroom, fireplace not usable, doors to room and bathroom not closing properly.

This is a very charming place to stay. We loved the look and feel. The breakfast is amazing! The room was spacious and comfy. The location is good, convenient to downtown. I didn’t love sharing a bathroom, but we made it work. The hostess makes sure there are always fresh towels and it’s kept neat.

Old tiny rooms. So old doors to bathroom and closet don’t even close properly they are so misaligned. Room is hot even on very mild day, could not keep room cool.

Great location close to the downtown area. Warm and welcoming accommodations by Petecia the inn keeper. She had great restaurant recommendations and sightseeing tours offered on the island. Thoughtful details such as an adequate yet beautiful displayed complimentary breakfast. In the evening you can expect teas and cookies after a long day of sightseeing. A definite recommendation for solo or small group travel.

We had a terrible experience at this property. When we got there with a baby and a 4 year old, the host said we can´t stay because kids were not allowed, she wasn´t even being nice and comprehensive, like if it was our fault.The expedia information said: kids welcome. She told us to cancel the booking, we agreed as long as she arrange a new place for us, at the end she didn´t so she said we can stay. We felt very uncomfortable the whole stay, like if we were doing something wrong. In general we didnt enjoy our trip to Nantucket for this bad experience. I do not recommend this place at all!
