Element by Marriott West Des Moines

This hotel is in a very up and coming area. A lot of really cool and fun restaurants/rooftop restaurants/breweries and even things to do. The outdoor hot tub is great, even in winter. Very modern place to stay. Felt very clean.

Airy, clean beautifully equipped. The social hour with free drinks was much appreciated

We thought the stay was very good. The hotel was clean and check in was easy. Breakfast wasn't great but still adequate. We did like the exercise room.

The element is in a pretty good location if you want to do some shopping at the mall nearby or if you need to run to Walmart or Target quick it’s all in a central location. Plenty of options to choose from for eats around this location. Pretty easy to get to from the interstate. They have a small indoor pool that was family friendly. The hot tub was outside next to the pool area in case you are wondering. The king bed suite we booked was decent and clean. The breakfast was great, the food was fresh, the kitchen staff were very friendly and professional, and plenty of sitting in the eating area or in the nice lounge area. My family and I would definitely stay here again.

Hotel is extremely clean and welcoming. Hotel staff is helpful and friendly. Pool area was clean and great for kids. Room was nice with plenty of room. Would recommend to anyone!

Everything was except I wanted to hangout with a fire pit but there was no staff with the knowledge on how to turn it on.

My only complaint was that the hotel stunk. Our first room smelled bad and so we asked for another room on a different floor. That room too smelled bad and it was a different odor. By that point we were tired and just dealt with it.

The walls are thin and you can hear everything from the rooms to the side and above you. Bed was comfortable, but it was hard to sleep because of the noise. Overall ok for a quick one night stay.

Overall a great property But there was a musty sewer smell in the room and the water pressure in the shower was a little lacking

THIS WAS OUR FIRST TIME VISITING YOUR BEAUTIFUL HOTEL,,WE CAME UP TO DE MOINES FOR THE DARCI LYNN CONCENRNT THAT WAS RIGHT ACROSS FROM THE HOTEL( how convenient was that?didnt have to worry about parking at all!!the staff was excellent especially Terril who helped us with check inn yesterday after noon. our breath was taken away about how exceptionally clean our room was (335) we felt right at home,the young lady working the front desk Alba was very helpful on suggesting local eateries within walking distance so we did not have to drive, and when we got back from the concenrt Alba took the time to help upload pictures i had taken of the hotel and pict of the concernt,the bed was nice and cozy it felt like we were sleeping on air!!!the gentleman this morning i believe his name was Michael chatted with us like we were old friends and thanked us for visiting and told us to have a safe trip back, the breakast was hot and had a great variety of items avaiable,,,the only drwback was that i forgot our suits so we unfoutratntley coukd not use the hot tub .its just me and my hubby and he never wants to get away but he chose this hotel all by himself and the venue and even if it was just obe night we are so glad that it was at your hotel!!we will defetinley be back soon i hope, thanks for being such a great hotel which was ewasonably priced and staff who REALLY CARED about the well being of thier guest!!! suberb suberb!! vVERY PROUD patrons!!!! There was stuck on food in one of the chairs, you could tell that housekeeping didn’t do a very good job and probably only vacuumed. All of the mirrors were dirty. silverware was gross. The staff was incredibly rude. Am I coworker who also had a room also had issues with the rude staff and cleanliness as well as the water pressure in the showers were absolutely terrible and the bed was really lumpy.

The cleanest hotel I’ve been to. Will stay again.

The facilities were nice. The atmosphere was unique. Plentiful free breakfast included. Many convenient eating or shopping places within a reasonable (walkable) distance. I wish we couldn't hear the neighbors next to us with a locked adjoining door, but that's not too unexpected for a hotel.

Great stay, but disappointed that the shower water does not get hot, just warm, and also that I could not turn the thermostat below 66° at night.

Bed were extremely stiff and uncomfortable. Hotel internet was slow and unresponsive most of the time. Staff were very kind and courteous

Room with kitchenette worked wonderful as we were traveling for athletics. Pool was nice. Breakfast was great!

Very clean room. We loved the pillows and bedding, super comfy but not too warm. My only issue was having thick hair and no good shower water pressure

Check in was quick and the clerk, while not overly friendly, was polite and professional. The room was very large and the beds were comfortable. The a/c was my only complaint. We turned it all the way down but I was still very warm. Maybe that was a me problem. The bathroom was well lit but we were short a couple towels. I don’t recommend the restaurant across the street unless you are into loud sports bars with almost all high top tables. I do recommend going to Hurts Donuts!

Bathroom shower was poorly designed. You couldn't reach the temperature control without standing in the water stream.

Nice room. Just stayed one night and not in room much but was clean. Phone broke and 1 tv remote for 2 rooms but other than that it was fine. This was our 2nd stay here.

Easy check in process. Friendly staff with a big smile provided great service. Rooms were very nice, clean and comfortable. Highly recommended place to stay.

There was a constant beeping sound coming from the kitchen. Told front desk and they advised to flip the kitchen breakers in my room but this solution didn’t work. They then said there was nothing they could do. In the morning, the front desk asked how my stay was at checkout, I told them I didn’t sleep but two hours intermittently because of the repeated beeping noise. She said it was my bad luck and walked away.

I loved the free breakfast in the mornings. It wasn't just pastries and coffee, but fresh pancakes, sausage, cereal, yogurt bar, etc. The staff was very friendly and allowed a late checkout at no additional charge. This was my second stay. I will definitely return again if I come back to Iowa.

The biggest problem my family had was that we arrived to the hotel and was told they over booked and they would give us our money back and told us to find a room somewhere else. We were then told that we could not get money from them because we ordered through Expedia and we needed to contact Expedia. The management felt that telling us to basically go on our way without any compensation or attempt to rectify the problem. Actually, the manager refused to come out and talk to us about the situation. When the desk help returned, they had a lower priced room available. However when we checked out, the manager was need to tell me the exact price of my room. Apparently I will be contacted in a couple days. I’ve never had such a situation when traveling. I will never stay at this hotel again.

Huge shout out to the staff - super friendly, super helpful, willing to go above and beyond to make sure that we were happy with our stay! … even though we ended up being there the same night as a super wild group of elementary-aged baseball players who were running wild like banshees.

They didn’t have a room ready for us. Front desk was very nice but we had to wait an hour for the room

We were there for the State Track meet. Great location with bars and restaurants wishing walking distance. Only a 15 minutes drive to Drake Stadium. Hotel is clean, very well maintained, and a great value for the price. Just FYI there are no ice machines, but they have complementary bags of ice that you can grab at any time in the snack area. We will definitely stay here again next year.

Easy access off I-35. Lively but loud sports bar across the street.

Clean and quiet. Within walking distance of several places we like to go for entertainment.

New experience staying with Element hotel it was truly great the welcoming guest services friendly staff members. Very neat room with many amenities. The downstairs lobby was fun and always filled with people enjoying the space the outdoor hot tub was an experience and the breakfast was best ever! many options and freshly cooked food

The Element was superb! From the attentive service to the beautiful outdoor space and the incredible breakfast, this was a great overnight stay. It was close to excellent restaurants/bars, as well as so many stores and Jordan Creek Mall. It had a wonderful vibe to it, with gorgeous decorations, as well as an eco-friendly atmosphere that really showed. We discovered there were even bikes and helmets to rent. We didn’t have time on this trip, but we will be back!
