It does take about an hour of a cramped and winding busride to get to the hotel from Odawara Station, but on the other hand the bus stops right by the hotel, and once you're here you're just across the street from Togendai where both the famous ropeway and pirate ships start their tours. The hotel has a luxurious feel to it with the foot bath overlooking the lake by the lobby and the rooms feeling pretty spacious, especially the ones with a private tub on the balcony which is 10/10. The baths are great, though they aren't the hottest we've tried on our trip, they come in so many versions with both silky bath and outdoor pools where the view varies between morning and afternoon when men and women switch sides. Tattoos are allowed if you cover them up, and the hotel sells covers on the lobby if you forgot them. In some places the hotel is starting to show its age which made me sad, but it still feels like the staff cares about making your stay as perfect as possible with how smooth everything runs. We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel every day and enjoyed both, there's a good mix of Japanese and western food so everyone can find what they're looking for - be that natto or croissants.

It is a dream hotel thast we chose to rest in the middle of our trip to Japan. After 4 intese days in Tokyo, we needed a day off and this hotel was just perfect for the occasion. The room had an adequate size, though if we came back, we would definitely choose a bigger one. However, all the premises including our room were completely silent and calm and this implied quality sleep. We had a hotspring in the balcony, which has an added value, though it was a little small for two people. The hotel has a tantalizing outdoor area, ideal for having a drink with a view to the lake. Both dinner and breakfast are excellent. You have a lot of variety to choose from and all the products have a superior quality. Having free drinks of any kind in the buffet is really appreciated. The staff speaks English fluently, something I really love, because that is not the normal thing in Japan, I’m afraid, at least to my mind. The hotel is a modern ryokan with onsen and termal baths available for customers. This is so nice, but Japanese culture implies that to bathe in those baths , one is not allowed to wear swimwear or something similar. So, we couldn’t try the experience because this is not part of my culture. We simply used the one we had in the room. In general, we loved our stay and we would like to have stayed a longer time.

We did our check in and were so unhappy about the hotel, the tiny rooms that looked so cheap. Only the view was nice but except for that it was really notnlikenon the pics. We fienoue check out after an hour because of the disappoint

Onsen was really nice with fantastic amenities for skincare and hair. Nice property, good location walking distance to the “loop”. Everything was great. Personally I wish buffet breakfast and lunch had more options but my teens liked everything.

Our only disappointment was the room. We were given the furthest ground-floor room, 101, and if we stayed again I wouldn’t accept it. However, if you prefer a closed-in garden view then this location might suit you. Personally, we didn’t enjoy it. My review reflects my personal preference. We had no issues with the other areas of the hotel. In fact, the location was great, right next to the ropeway (cable car station) and at the start and end of the Ashi Lake tour.
