Located in a quiet neighborhood with easy access to the train and walking distance from the botanical garden, biodome, and planetarium among other parks. Instructions to get into the building and room were clear and the place was clean and well maintained. We rented parking in a neighbor’s driveway around the corner as the property suggested, which was convenient and inexpensive. My only note is that the front door of the building didn’t consistently close/ lock properly.

This place is so cozy and so spacious. We enjoyed the great big kitchen and honestly had all the cookware / appliances we needed. As health-conscious travellers we don't want to eat every single meal at a restaurant, and we enjoy to cook for ourselves sometimes. The suite was beautiful, a luxurious bed and the bathtub was divine. Can fit two people easily! A really sweet, romantic getaway for us. Also about 3 minutes away from the metro station, you just can't beat that!

Very good facility for the price and accurate what they provide. Very clean, excellent location to use public transportation. We had a car and this was most challenging throughout our time in Montreal. Parking is at a premium in that it is very difficult to find. We were fortunate to be able to pay for a place just down the street as a referral from the property owners.

We were positively surprised by the size of the apartment and it's cleanliness. Facility provided kitchen utilities so we were able to buy groceries and cook our own food saving some money.

What was unique is that there are only four rooms in the property all of which are very large with a large bathroom and walk in closet. The four rooms share a big fully equipped kitchen . I was able to save considerable money by bringing in food for my meals. . It is very bright and very clean. The Metro is one stop away.

The stay felt more like an AirBNB in a condo than a hotel, which was fine, but something to expect if needing amenities or wanting a 24H front desk. It was very clean. Self check in was smooth and they were quick to respond to texts in English and/or French. The hotel is close to Pie-IX métro which made commuting by public transit very easy, as well as the Biodome and other city attractions. The place is old so the floors creak and you can hear the other neighbours walking around; however the area was quiet and safe, making it easy to sleep. This is a personal gripe but the pillows provided were the fluffy kind that really elevates your head and we both found that our necks were sore. If I could change one thing about Hotel Gite du Survenant it would be to have some flat pillows in the closet to have options, but that’s very minor haha. I’d strongly recommend staying here, whether you are a single traveller or a group!

Very clean room, exactly what we needed for a three night trip to Montreal. Having access to the shared kitchen was very nice, and the hotel was very quiet and located in a convenient area.

The property is okay the only downside is that the room dusty with cobwebs present in the room. The bed sheet was dirty with hair all over it. I had to remove it and sleep with my tower and travel duvet on it. It was not communicated that the washroom/bathroom is outside the room.

Un environnement saint et trés agréable dans l'ensemble! ( Quelques moisissures de joins de salle de bain entachent un peu la propreté de celle ci.) Un grand sens du détail pratique ( vanité de salle de bain, de nombreux crochets à vétement et penderies, espace vide poche etc. Les planchers et la literie étaient impécables. La déco est agréable et épurée.On s'y sent tout de suite trés bien.Nous avons beaucoup aimé et reviendrons avec grand plaisir.

Fantastic property. Stayed in apartment A, it was nice, big and very clean. In a convenient spot by the metro with the Olympic stadium, biodome, Planétarium and other activities nearby. Would stay here again! Staff also very friendly.

Unfortunately, can't give this a thumbs up. The apartment smelled like old smoke. When we arrived, we told the woman downstairs and she apologized and brought us up some air freshener specifically to get rid of smoke odor, which is a huge red flag. We tried to open the windows to air it out, but were very shortly greeted by the smell of smoking right below the window. The furniture and overall state of the apartment was in poor condition (stains on the chairs, mildew on shower curtain), and the smell of old 2nd and 3rd hand smoke everywhere. The neighborhood is very close to the biodome which is what we wanted, but is generally run down, litter everywhere, and not the safest feeling.

The property is very spacious and clean however it was advertised that it is an air conditioned unit but the AC (just namesake AC as it felt like a fan, not cool enough) is in the living room and both the bedrooms didn't have any ventilation or any cool air coming in. One of the fans provided was not working and there was no response when we requested for one so we had to use the futon to sleep at night instead of one of the bedrooms. There is a cooler in the kitchen which was pointless as it didn't direct any cool air to the bedrooms. It will be very hot in peak summer.The apartment is in a space with limited parking so beware of finding parking as street parking fills up fast. The heat dampened the mood of the stay else it would have been good stay.

We had a great stay at le Gîte du Survenant. This is a property with a self-check in and a large shared kitchen. The room was clean and tidy and exactly what we needed, with a fold out bed for our child to sleep on. There was a spacious bathroom with a shower/tub perfect for our family, and recommendations from the host about where to stay. The hotel is located near the biodôme which was convenient, and had a fridge and plates/cutlery for meals in the shared kitchen. In terms of improvements, the curb appeal of the property isn't great (looks like an old converted apartment) and parking was a challenge. We had to park a few blocks away and walk up with our luggage. We were pleasantly surprised when opening the room door to find a beautifully decorated space. Overall we had a great stay - thank you!

The property was in good shape, no complaints about it. Just something about their staff and customer service: I booked my stay through expedia. I wanted to make changes to my reservation more than 48 hours earlier to my scheduled stay due to flight interruption, an expedia agent helped me to message them but I didn’t receive a reply even after I checked-in(they have contactless check-in). When the expedia agent raised my query they responded that, a manager is needed to approve the change and was not present momentarily. That’s it, no response after that, totally ghosted. Felt helpless.

Clean simple affordable hotel in a cozy neighborhood. Full kitchen and laundry. WIFI. Quiet hotel. Convenience store around the corner and 2 min walk to the botanical gardens and biodome/olympic stadium. You have to be buzzed in but it was very easy and the person was very helpful. Its on a bike path and a 1 min walk for ebikes or the subway Parking is difficult i parked out front on the street to bring my stuff inside and when i returned there was a ticket on my car. You can call one of the neighbors who will charge you a low price to park in his driveway or you can park at the stadium for a bit more $$. the room was very clean and well designed lots of space in the bathroom for personal items. Large closet. The only thing missing from my room was a comfy chair. Would definitely stay again.

You can call one of the neighbors who will charge you a low price to park in his driveway or you can park at the stadium for a bit more $$. the room was very clean and well designed lots of space in the bathroom for personal items. Large closet. The only thing missing from my room was a comfy chair. Would definitely stay again.

The stay felt more like an AirBNB in a condo than a hotel, which was fine, but something to expect if needing amenities or wanting a 24H front desk. It was very clean. Self check in was smooth and they were quick to respond to texts in English and/or French. The hotel is close to Pie-IX métro which made commuting by public transit very easy, as well as the Biodome and other city attractions. The place is old so the floors creak and you can hear the other neighbours walking around; however the area was quiet and safe, making it easy to sleep. This is a personal gripe but the pillows provided were the fluffy kind that really elevates your head and we both found that our necks were sore. If I could change one thing about Hotel Gite du Survenant it would be to have some flat pillows in the closet to have options, but that’s very minor haha. I’d strongly recommend staying here, whether you are a single traveller or a group!

Apartment and amenities were great! Exceptionally clean and well maintained. Metro station right down the street was extremely convenient. Property owners were easy to contact, helpful, and left a guide in the room of recommendations for our trip. We would’ve liked to have some extra towels, toilet paper, etc. in our room as we had a bit of a longer stay and ran out. But this was the only critique, I would happily recommend this to any friends visiting :)

A great place to be a guest! Because of a change of last minute, I'll had to go there a day earlier. Just discussing a minute with the owner he transferred the reserved night to the new one. They deserve my profound thanks. A great service! You can go there with closed eyes! The room are clean and lovely set to live good times there.

Had a great time here with some friends. Literally right beside the metro which is one of the best transportation systems I’ve been on. Very nice neighbourhood just outside downtown. Would stay here again.

My only choice for Montreal. Comfortable, clean, great place to stay! Location is excellent, a block away from the PIE-X Metro station but still in a quiet area. Glad I got a chance to stay here again!

Great spot to stay. The only fault was the AC was cold in the kitchen but the rest of the apartment was quite warm even at night. Otherwise great. Parked at the neighbours house, he was easy to work with.
