Very friendly staff! Convenient breakfast and market on site (you pay per item, so it's way cheaper than options in many other hotels). The gym is small, but it has the basics. The elliptical machine is great. I also appreciated their little Christmas gift.

Great location for exploring Rotterdam, close to major department store and food outlets - walkable to most central Rotterdam sights. Front-desk staff were helpful, and check-in was smooth. Room was clean and comfortable. Our car was too big for their car elevator into the on-site car park, but - when I enquired about parking ahead of our stay - the hotel advised us to park in Q-Park directly opposite the hotel. Very convenient.

Beautiful hotel. Reception staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. We arrived very early and were able to check in straight away which was brilliant. Amazing shower in the bathroom. 24hr market with a great space to chill out in. Really lovely hotel.

Flott hotell midt i sentrum, noe trekk for løse stikkontakter og inntrykket det gjør, dårlig wifi ( men ikke krise) , sengen var hard men helt ok, putene var for harde/høye så dro på meg vondt i nakken. Og vi overså faktumet at det ikke var vanlig frokost buffet men frokostsal hvor du må kjøpe hvert enkelt produkt, savnet buffet , men alt i alt ett flott hotel og bruker det gjerne igjen

This is a nice hotel in a very good location in Rotterdam. Overall we had a pleasant stay. The Market and Guest area on the 2nd floor is excellent with reasonable prices, a decent continental breakfast choice and a wide range of products to choose from, open 24hrs. Reasonably priced alcohol was also available anytime and a free to use ice machine. Unfortunately, the Hotel let itself down with the cleanliness in bathroom of one of the rooms our group had booked. There was a large amount of mould in the shower and visible faecal staining on the toilet seat. We raised this with the Hotel who didi attempt to clean the seat with disinfectant wipes but this did not remove the staining, we were advised the would require chemical treatment which was outsourced to another company?! We ended up buying a bottle of household bleach from the local supermarket and attending to it ourselves! A real shame as everything else was very good.

Das Hotel befindet sich in einer sehr guten Lage, direkt im Stadtzentrum. Die Sauberkeit des Hotels war äußerst zufriedenstellend. Mein Zimmer war geräumig, gemütlich und modern eingerichtet. Die Ausstattung umfasste ein bequemes Bett, einen Schreibtisch, eine Minibar, Safe, zwei Sessel und ein kleines Couchtisch. Das Personal war freundlich, hilfsbereit und professionell, eine schnelle Rezeption und geben Tipps für Sehenswürdigkeiten in der Umgebung.

Good, clean and comfortable room and hotel at reasonable price and very close to central station, dining options and city centre. Be aware that building work being carried out around (and perhaps to) the hotel, Rotterdam appaeras to be never finished and building work everywhere but still a graet location

Room was clean and spacious with plenty of surface space to put our items. We used our bar fridge, coffee maker, kettle and were pleased to find a bottle opener in the room. There was a microwave in the lounge that we used to heat up our meals from the grocery store. The room was quiet for sleeping. Easy walking distance from Central Station and Metro stations as well as many other tourist sites and shopping. Front reception were polite and helpful. We enjoyed our stay.

Wonderful stay. Beautiful view of the city from the 12th floor room. Very clean property with good amenities. Right in the center of the city. Can walk to everything easily. Great bars and eateries nearby. Would certainly stay here on our next trip. Great bed!

Room wasn’t clean, dirt in corners, stains on decorative pillows etc and hotel was generally run down and badly in need of a renovation, paint etc. I would not stay here again.

This is a very average hotel. Pictures look a lot better than what you actually get. I got the superior double room. It was quite small - the bed took up most of the space and you couldn’t really get around it to the other side. Kind of had to shimmy around the edges. There are very few plugs for some reason. No conditioner or lotion in the bathroom. Toilet was separate from the bathroom which was nice… nobody helped me with my massive bags they just gave me a trolley. Second floor has a lounge where you can get plates and stuff and snacks which is great, you pay yourself there. It’s good for the price that I paid, but definitely not a 4 star.

숙소 위치도 좋고 방도 나름 커서 좋았습니다. 그런데 큰 행사일 (King's day)이나 금요일에 숙박한다면 호텔 정면이 아닌 반대쪽 방을 요구하세요. 지나가는 차들과 호텔 정면의 주차장에서 밤새 클락션 울리는 소리와 폭주족들의 배기음이 들렸습니다.

We checked in late at night and informed the staff if it is ok to check out a bit later which they were ok with it. However they didn’t not inform us of the extra charge. First in the morning someone came to the room while we were still there and then they charged us extra for checking out 35 min passed the check out time. Central location and lots of parking options around.

Great hotel, really friendly and helpful staff, and a nice central location. Don't be put off by the slightly uninspiring appearance from outside (and the tiny door from the street!) as it's really lovely inside. I wish it had a restaurant, but there are so many around that it's not a problem. I was on one of the low floors and barely noticed the traffic noise at all. Would definitely come back and stay again!

Check in was super easy thanks to Amy. She was so amiable and welcoming that it was quite nice to be greeted with that after driving for such a long time. The room was spacious and they gave us a free upgrade which was very much appreciated. The bed was super comfortable. My partner and I both agreed that it felt like we never left home because it was as comfortable as the bed we have back home. The shower had really good water pressure too. We parked at the hotel. It was convenient and front reception have been really kind to help us get our car in and out of the hotel. Overall. We loved our stay at The James Hotel. We totally recommend it to our friends.

Add city tax on my Expedia booking when I come. “Miss taking“ to give lower category room for my booking when I check in. Front desk staff in the day when I check out, was rude, careless and refusing to give her name for this review.

Ghe hotel had no atmosphere considering it was during North Sea Jazz weekend aalot of guest were staying at the hotel. TV and telephone in room did not work and despite reporting it , it was not fixed during our stay. Badly trained reception staff not knowing hiw to greet guests on arrival. No breakfast ootion and limited ' market' to purchase snacks. A charge placed on credit card to cover damage at check in whuch we were not advised about and this us still showing as pending on my card. would not recommend. And woukd stay there again.

Had a great stay at this hotel. We arrived very early and the staff provided a secure location to store our luggage while we explored Rotterdam. They were able to check us in earlier than their normal time. All of their staff were very helpful and offered great advice for restaurants and activities. We highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Rotterdam!

We greatly enjoyed Rotterdam and would definitely go back. The James is close to the Centraal train station (5-10 min walk). Nearby there are plenty of shops, restaurants and a grocery store. One can easily walk to all the view points, if one enjoy walking! The James looks new and is well maintained. The staffs are nice. There was a fridge and a coffee machine which is something that I appreciated. A nice place to stay. I do recommend this place. I wish we would have stayed a few more days in Rotterdam.

The hotel is about 10 mins walk to Rotterdam central station. It is next to a shopping area where you can find many restaurants. Breakfast is a bit problem, but we find a McDonald near the hotel which opens at 8:30am.

Very good hotel. Location, staff, facilities, and room were impressive. The only slight downside to the whole enjoyable stay was that we could still hear car horns and street noise, even on the 9th floor. We will stay here again though, when we are in Rotterdam again.

The hotel has an excellent location — just steps from shops, cafés, and restaurants, which made it very convenient. My room was comfortable and spacious, and overall the stay was pleasant. I didn’t like that food and drinks are purchased through machines using a credit card, with no staff around, which made the experience feel less personal and welcoming.

The reception I received was marvellous. I was pleased with the room and had a wonderful stay. It was good value for money and provided a quality place to stay not too far from places I wanted to visit. Loved Rotterdam My only disappointment was the breakfast and meals. It was all from a vending machine. I presume this is how they keep costs low. I’d stay here again if they’d have me! 😊

We had an excellent stay at The James. The hotel is a 10 minute walk from the train station and very close to the main sights in Rotterdam, including bars and restaurant. Our room was very spacious and modern with a big comfy bed. Breakfast was also good at the cafe, and reasonably priced, c. €10-12 for two of us. Would definitely stay again (and loved the free tin of mints at checkout!)

Pene og rene rom, hyggelig betjening og veldig sentral beliggenhet. Eneste minus er at det ikke er frokost, men selvbetjente kiosk med mat som man må kjøpe etter behov.
