Very nice hotel, new and hip with modern amenities in a safe feeling part of town. The room was clean and spacious, and staff was friendly. The main issue we ran into was the music in the outdoor lounge area not being turned off all night. We could hear the bass and beat of the music playing outside from inside our room even with white noise and the fan turned on. We thought maybe the lights and music would be turned off at midnight, but we woke up multiple times in the night even at 4am hearing the music. Additionally, the walls and floors seemed to be thin, we could hear the people above us pretty loudly. Overall great hotel, but with that one fairly major drawback.

First, walking into the lobby, so clean and modern, and fun appearing with a pool table, which we used, a full bar, large TV, a small snack store, lots of seating and a few games out on a large table. There also was a gym which had all you'd want for a vacation workout. All employees working in the lobby, from desk clerks to the bartender, very very professional and very friendly. The room was convenient and modern, nice up to date design. Had all we needed. We will definitely stay here again.

This Aloft is dog friendly. You can request the hall that opens into the lobby but also at the other end into the parking lot with grassy area for pets. Even have bags and disposal can. Don't have to go down an elevator or even in the lobby to take your dog out. Also has a nice bar in the lobby.

I didn't dislike the property, I just don't think it was even nearly worth $450 per night. I'm still flabbergasted by the price - you can stay at the ritz in miami for cheaper... There is no valet or bellboy to help with luggage. The parking lot tows and doesn't have enough spots to account for the amount of guests - my boyfriend had to create a makeshift parking spot since they were over capacity and we spent the whole night and next morning worried about it being towed. Inside the hotel is nice with a fully stocked bar, pool tables and just an overall good ambience. There is only one elevator but it's not too long of a wait. The pool was tiny and not very enticing at all, tbh. As far as the room itself - the bed was nice and comfy, the TV allowed for streaming and bluetooth which was nice. There is virtually zero soundproofing. Our room was nearly shaking every time a neighbor closed their door and from upstairs stomping - it was unbearably loud. The room overall was also just super small and the layout made us feel super crammed. The bathroom is completely open and right next to the door so my boyfriend couldn't even go in and out of the room comfortably while i was getting ready. The lighting was also wired so oddly - there was one switch that controlled the entire room lighting so you either had to have abrasive fluorescent lighting all on at once or all off at the same time. Overall the hotel is decent but i'd pay maximum $150 to stay there again

It is a very nice and quite place to stay. I didn't like to walk out of the entrance between the gim and the pool because when you cross the grass to the parking lot you have to be careful not to step on DOG' S excrement.

This is a mixed bag. But ultimately had to rate it a one. They double charged me and no one knows what’s going on. They are trying to tell me I stayed two nights. I had a high hold and questioned it when I checked in on Tuesday night. Then I saw some weird activity and called Thursday morning and was told it would be taken care of. Instead I was charged again for a nights stay. No one knows what they are doing they kept telling me it was a hold. Now it’s a charge also in my room there were snot rockets blown on the shower wall and the body wash was completely empty. Also had some black specs on the sheets in the bed. The overnight front desk person was helpful with the printer, but he never followed up when I alerted him on Thursday morning about potential charges. Will never stay here again when visiting Gainesville

I found a cockroach in my room. This was the worse experience I’ve had in a hotel. I talked to the manager about it, he told me they were doing a deep cleaning on the room. which was NEVER done. They didn’t clean the room just change the sheets and put new towels. I notified the manager at 9am and by 5 my room was untouched.I felt like the manager didn’t care about what I told him until I went back downstairs and talked to him again. And then I had to wait tired for them to do it.

I have stayed at this location two years ago and it was great. This visit, I was surprised at how much wear and tear is all around. Stains, scuffs, paint chips, etc. Our room had a bad wet musty smell and when the staff member moved us to another room, it was just as bad. We considered leaving but it was late and we were exhausted. Also, refrigerator began a loud, shrill noise in the middle of the night. We had to turn it off to stop it. The ironic thing is that there were so many other hotels close to us, with even lower rates that we could have (and should have) chose, but we chose Aloft due to our visit two years ago. We go to Gainesville often and I am sad to see that the Aloft has gone down in quality. I will say that the staff was nice.

We stayed in room 521. The rug had big stains all over it and we found a roach in the bathroom area which I reported to the front desk. The room smell like dog and it was big stains on the carpet. I also reported to the front desk when I checked out. The bedding the bathroom were clean carpet definitely smell like dog, and had stains from a dog.

Decent hotel for what you’re paying for. It definitely was not the cleanest. The rooms had a weird smell and the elevator floors were pretty disgusting. Other than that, the staff were friendly enough and the room is good enough. I probably wouldn’t stay here for longer than a night.

The front desk staff was diligent, friendly, and professional. I wish that extended to other areas of the hotel, but it did not. 1. Room was clean except for crumpled tissue on the floor and rings on the end table. Kind of disgusting, but because I was there for one night and arrived exhausted, I didn't call because I had work to do and didn't want them to send up housekeeping or move my room. 2. Bar was not too busy, but when I went down for a glass of wine, the bartender didn't acknowledge me for several minutes. I don't need immediate service, but it felt like he was going out of his way to make eye contact. A simple, "be right with you" would have gone a long way. I also watched him dip the shaker in ice, which is also kind of gross. 3. This is nothing the staff can fix, but the walls and ceilings are not anywhere close to soundproof. I heard everything above me and next to me — including someone else's early morning phone alarm. I've stayed at Aloft before and typically they're more than adequate. Unfortunately, this one was acceptable but not much else. Definitely not worth the $250 for the evening. I realize it was Tom Petty weekend but if you can't manage to clean a room and you know your hotel isn't going to offer people a good night's sleep because the walls are thin, maybe adjust the prices?

The staff was very nice and friendly however, we paid $500 to stay here for one night. We had a charity event up the street. I feel like this hotel took advantage of the event being in the area, which is kind of sad since it was a cancer charity event. Next weekend, the same room is only 265 . After paying $500 when we opened up our windows of our room, they overlooked the roof with two air-conditioning vents right outside them not worth the money. They did end up moving us, but would not be returning here.

Upon entering the hotel you were greeted with a pool table, several options of seating and large TVs. It looked like a mini sports bar. Live music plays some nights as well. Check in was smooth and fast. The room was larger than most with a wall of shelving and spacious bathroom area . Unfortunately noise travels well in this room. Also the shower has no ledges to hold your toiletries. Your items have to be in the ground. Shaving was a bit of a challenge. This was the only area that needed attention to cleanliness. The sliding barn door was quite dirty when closed as well as a seating area under the television. I’m unsure if it was not working properly the lights above sink would not turn on unless lights above bed were on. Beds were very soft with plenty of pillows. A cute vintage alarm clock sat on the table. Electric outlets were across room as well. Another plus shades pulled down to block morning sun if you enjoy sleeping in. AC provided cold air with out issues. Hotel located near campus. I would stay again.
Upon entering the hotel you were greeted with a pool table, several options of seating and large TVs. It looked like a mini sports bar. Live music plays some nights as well. Check in was smooth and fast. The room was larger than most with a wall of shelving and spacious bathroom area . Unfortunately noise travels well in this room. Also the shower has no ledges to hold your toiletries. Your items have to be in the ground. Shaving was a bit of a challenge. This was the only area that needed attention to cleanliness. The sliding barn door was quite dirty when closed as well as a seating area under the television. I’m unsure if it was not working properly the lights above sink would not turn on unless lights above bed were on. Beds were very soft with plenty of pillows. A cute vintage alarm clock sat on the table. Electric outlets were across room as well. Another plus shades pulled down to block morning sun if you enjoy sleeping in. AC provided cold air with out issues. Hotel located near campus. I would stay again.

It was ok, issues at check in (had prepaid with business card) and had me use my personal card because machine had an issue. Then they billed my personal card after I had already paid, had to get that fixed, hoping it did as of right now I’m double billed. Room was fine, shower was the worst water pressure I’ve ever seen.

I didn't dislike the property, I just don't think it was even nearly worth $450 per night. I'm still flabbergasted by the price - you can stay at the ritz in miami for cheaper... There is no valet or bellboy to help with luggage. The parking lot tows and doesn't have enough spots to account for the amount of guests - my boyfriend had to create a makeshift parking spot since they were over capacity and we spent the whole night and next morning worried about it being towed. Inside the hotel is nice with a fully stocked bar, pool tables and just an overall good ambience. There is only one elevator but it's not too long of a wait. The pool was tiny and not very enticing at all, tbh. As far as the room itself - the bed was nice and comfy, the TV allowed for streaming and bluetooth which was nice. There is virtually zero soundproofing. Our room was nearly shaking every time a neighbor closed their door and from upstairs stomping - it was unbearably loud. The room overall was also just super small and the layout made us feel super crammed. The bathroom is completely open and right next to the door so my boyfriend couldn't even go in and out of the room comfortably while i was getting ready. The lighting was also wired so oddly - there was one switch that controlled the entire room lighting so you either had to have abrasive fluorescent lighting all on at once or all off at the same time. Overall the hotel is decent but i'd pay maximum $150 to stay there again

Front desk girl was awful and very rude. I paid for a room ahead of time and once I got there a couple hours later they said they accidentally overbooked and didn’t have my Room and I had to fight hard for my refund.

We booked with Expedia well before our arrival. Arrived in town around and the hotel called shortly after to say they overbooked and because we were a 3rd party booking, we were cancelled first. Moved us to a hotel in another city! We had no advance notice and were already in town when they cancelled. We will never use or recommend this hotel to anyone. Just horrible business practice and customer service. 3rd party booking customers treated like they do not matter, with no concern for the huge inconvenience.

You can’t go wrong, we arrived late and tired and Tiana welcomed us kindly making the check in a breeze. Thanks Tiana! We enjoyed a couple of drinks at the bar served by the friendly Cameron and had a nice chat with manager Becky. Everyone was super nice and room was clean, spacious, bed super comfy! We had a nice breakfast before hitting the road again, very happy and would definitely stay again :)

I booked through hotels.com with paying at hotel. When I got to hotel I gave them a different card for incidentals and for them to charge the room. I specifically told them not to charge the card on file from hotels.com. They charged both cards for the full amount. My account got overdrawn and my bank charged me four overdraft fees because ALoft charged my card when I did not authorized them to!!!! Horrible customer service. They won’t help me with my fees or even give me any credit or anything. The “manager” stated that it was my problem. Makes me sad. And will never stay again. Beware.

A few odd experiences left me less than impressed. Checked in to be told that they didn’t have enough keys and mobile key didn’t work so I was dependent on having them walk me to my door. (Thankfully that was resolved by the next morning). Then the safe didn’t work, ran out of body wash and shampoo on day 2. When I put in a request I waited all day and nothing. Then I went down and asked for someone again to get these replaced as I needed a shower, still nothing for another 2 hours.. I finally asked housekeeping in the hallway and she helped me. Workers were nice but I was frustrated that they do the bare minimum to get by

First, walking into the lobby, so clean and modern, and fun appearing with a pool table, which we used, a full bar, large TV, a small snack store, lots of seating and a few games out on a large table. There also was a gym which had all you'd want for a vacation workout. All employees working in the lobby, from desk clerks to the bartender, very very professional and very friendly. The room was convenient and modern, nice up to date design. Had all we needed. We will definitely stay here again.

Pros: Aloft has very modern facilities and everything was impeccably clean. The bed was relatively comfortable. Although we didn't take advantage of them, there was a pool table in the lobby and an outdoor pool. Cons: When we stay at a hotel, we expect either to pay for a good breakfast, or that a fairly mediocre continental breakfast will be included with the room. Aloft does not offer free breakfast, and while the breakfasts sound good from the descriptions, we found them to be pre-prepared and reheated, with not much in the way of healthy offerings (the "steel-cut oats" were instant oatmeal, and did not come with milk -- that was extra.) Honestly, the free mediocre breakfast we have eaten at IHG and Hampton Inns were better. The front desk attendants were a little abrupt. There is also a bar on the first floor, which meant it could be a little noisy in the halls around closing time, but we only noticed that one night.

Joei at the front desk is such a sweetheart!!! Food at XYZ lounge is hit or miss…you don’t know what they might have available and the menu is already very limited. A favorite is that we can take our dog to the lounge and not leave him in our room!

We visit Gainesville for a weekend every other month and always stay at Aloft. We travel with our dog and pets always stayed free at this facility. But someone decided to change the pet policy and we had to pay for our dog. And when you need to pay a pet fee there are so many nicer places to stay at this price range.
