Hyatt Place West Des Moines/Jordan Creek

I hope in the near future you add a jacuzzi to the hotel. It would be especially appreciated in the cold winters here in Iowa.

Great except swimming pool is watched by exercise room staring at you in pool!!! Very uneasy with men staring at women!!! Would not go into pool with men watching every move!! So pool is unsless for anyone that does not like men staring at you!!

The room was excellent…clean, spacious, and modern. It was nice to have a little sectional for our family to lounge on instead of always being on the beds. Beds were comfortable…down pillows and comforter. Rooms were nice and quiet! I couldn't ever hear other doors closing or people above us. The breakfast was complimentary and was delicious! My kids loved the French toast! It’s too bad there wasn’t a hot tub but the pool area was nice and warm. The kids swam forever because the water was heated. Great stay!

The hotel was in a nice area with a lot to do around it. We booked this hotel because of the pool, but unfortunately it was down for maintenance. Fortunately the manager was able to arrange for us to use another pool at the hotel next door. Breakfast was fine, nothing special. The room was very spacious, and the beds were comfortable. If we come through the area again I would consider staying here.

Hyatt Place WDM is nice and clean, and the staff and service were very good. Our room was quiet and had a comfortable king bed, sofa, and a large TV, all worked well. Kids loved the pool. While I didn't use the exercise room, it looked like it was decently equipped. The only disappointment was breakfast, which was very mid - selection was pretty minimal, and quality was meh. Well below Hampton level if you want to compare.

Rooms were very clean, spacious, and perfect for after the state fair. Pool was warm and kids loved it.

This property was incredibly comfortable and convenient for visiting family in the area. I would absolutely stay here again. The pool was even awesome for adults.

Gym does not smell good and doesn’t look like the equipments are deep cleaned daily, scales were broken and the main weight machine need servicing. Staff not very friendly nor do they communicate well. They don’t volunteer information, not welcoming at all. Facility itself overall is clean and tidy.

Room didnt get cleaned, so we had to change rooms. Second room us dirty as well. 1st room had oranges or something like it smashed on the walls and carpet in multiple spots, and boogers rubbed on the lamps... not kidding. 2nd room had yogurt on countertops, but we cleaned it ourselves.

We commented to the manager and employees as we left how this was the cleanest hotel we've ever stayed. It had fresh smelling hallways and rooms with comfortable beds. We will definitely keep this hotel in mind if we ever travel back to the Des Moines area.

Comfortable room on ground floor. But window was full of dirty dog footprints. Heated tea in microwave (kitchen area) last night- sad to see microwave dirty☹️. This place needs a little TLC in overall cleanliness area. Too bad because we rate our stays mostly on cleanliness & comfort.

Our room was disgusting. Big stains on the carpet, lamp shade had dirt and scratches all over it, mold in the shower and no water pressure. When we turned on the heat it smelled horrible for 30 mins like a dead animal was in there. The bolts were missing on the furnace panel so might have been. Stain on the pillow and on the couch as well. I’ve always liked hyatts place and stayed often over the years but after this I’m hesitant. Went to front desk to report issues but no staff to be found. That being said, the breakfast was good. I definitely should have gotten a discount due to our room being so awful.

We stay at Hyatt properties often, and this one was, by far, the most upkept we've seen. Lobby, hallways, and rooms had stale odors

This place is located near anything you may need. Comfy bed, great room. The only issue I had is the shower water pressure was very poor.

Great location and a very nice hotel overall. Only complaint is the shower head water pressure. I definitely recommend the stay.

Newer location and the rooms were very spacious. The bed was very comfortable as well as the pillows. The bathroom had a nice walk in shower. Breakfast had many options. Great place.

Good breakfast spread. No microwave in room so you have to go down near the front desk if need to use one. Staff was friendly and helpful. Parking is better in the back, but you can only enter through those doors using a key card.

Room was good but bed was super hard. Breakfast, though decent, it was the exact same every single day.

Hotel overall was fine. But didn’t feel clean and definitely is time for an update. Dingy paint colors, very broken down bed, not comfortable. Terrible water pressure. Heat was very inconsistent.

The only complaint i have is the air conditioner stopped working so it was terribly hot in the room and the bathroom door was hard to close.

Make sure your room has a microwave. For 600 dollars for 2.nights. a microwave kind of was expected.

Second stay here and the same problems occurred again. Checked in and settled only to find the AC was not working. Had to pack up and move AGAIN. Do not stay here, as they cannot seem to fix anything.

Our room smelled like raw sewage. My sister booked a double room and they were very rude in saying even though she paid extra for a double they aren’t guaranteed. She ended up in a suite but it still only had one bed. My brother and his wife had multiple attempts of people coming into their room, tv turning on in the middle of the night. Front desk said when they finally called to inquire about why they kept checking out their room “sometimes the system just does that” No apologies were offered for the multiple bad experiences.

Check in staff was not helpful at all, did not tell us which room was ours, did not tell us where the elevators were.

The stay was absolutely wonderful, however, checking in seemed to be the problem. ***Future hotel stayers, please be aware if you book through Expedia.*** Apparently there was a problem with Expedia and the hotel, with not getting the funds from Expedia. Staff had no clue what to do, by stating they didn’t know what to do and told me it may take some time to figure out how to resolve the problem. They had no idea what to say and by me telling them that they need to figure it out fast, made them realize they needed to call the GM to help override. Expedia has been around for a couple of decades; sounds like user error to me. To put icing on the cake, a family of 5 was having the exact same issue and the maintenance guy working at the hotel and of all people told us we need to lighten up and be more grateful, due to Thanksgiving being the day before. Hmmm I just drove 10 hours and the staff told me I couldn’t check in because of no payment. Guess what…payment was made awhile back. There have been other reviews at this particular location that have stated the same issue happening. I think this may be a great opportunity to train the staff on how to handle Expedia bookings moving forward. I have booked 150 hotels through Expedia because of the rewards program and this issue is the first time it has ever happened to me.

Hotel staff was friendly, especially the morning breakfast crew. The breakfast was outstanding, constantly being restocked and plenty of seating. Rooms were clean and stocked with necessities. I would stay again.

The property is modern clean and safe. The internet went out, our door had issues, and housekeeping was missed one day. The staff was wonderful and made everything right. The door got fixed, internet came back on and housekeeping cleaned our room the next day extremely efficiently.

We were given a room. When we got up to the room there was someone already in that room we were given.

Everything was great but there was issue at check in where apparently the desk clerk assigned us to the wrong room. After a few hours into our stay, another guest burst into our room while we were in it. We called the front desk, and the young woman whom we spoke told us WE were in the wrong room. I advised her that, if this was indeed the case, SHE was the one who put us there.

Wouldnt recommend staying here. Wife checked in and unfortunately there were some issues with the room. She asked the staff to switch, which they were able to accomodate but the same issues existed in the second room. They tried a third room but seems they didnt relaize there was already someone in the room. My wife asked for a refund but they advised she would need to discuss it with the manager in the morning. Manager stated their policy is no refunds for cancellations regardless of reason. Hlshould you decide to stay, i hope you dont have any issues with your room because they arent going to provide you a refund.

The location of the hotel was perfect for me. It’s close to a lot of shopping and restaurants. The area is very walkable to all of the shops or if you want to take a leisure walk or go for a run. The room was very clean and the front desk staff was very helpful. It’s about a 15 minute drive to the downtown area.

This hotel was very nice, clean, in great, safe location & close enough to I-35. Good continental breakfast and altho I can't comment on the coffee, there is a Starbucks just around the corner. Would recommend and would stay again.

We were traveling got in late and left early. Don't see alot, they advertised breakfast as unexpected adventure, breakfast tacos, unfortunately nothing to make tacos woth except eggs cheese and salsa

The first time we went to take a shower the bottles for the shampoo, conditioner and shower gel appeared to be empty. My husband and I both tried and nothing would come out. I told them at the front desk and they said they would change them, but the next morning same problem. Then the continental breakfast was not the best. They ran out of items and took quite awhile for them to refill them. The first day the only silverware was a spoon. No knife no forks. The next morning you got plastic which was better than nothing but not what we would have expected. It’s not a bad place but they have issues.

The pool area was very hot and humid. I realize it needs to be that way for swimmers, But spectators about die! The breakfast was just okay. Same thing both days. Was hot, but only 1 meat option.. No biscuits & gravy.

Overall the Stay was great, bed was comfortable, hotel nice and quiet for my busy business trip. Only thing that was disappointing was the breakfast, the same eggs and sausage were served for multiple days; by the 3rd day they were terrible. Some other fresh fruit options besides the same bananas that were out all week would be nice, and the juices in the large glass dispensers were not refreshed each day so there was little left of the OJ by the end of the week.
