10/10 luxury Hotel. First time in Panama. My family (2 adults 2 teens-17 &14) had a fantastic vacation at the Santa Maria Golf and Resort from start to finish. When we arrived, we were well served by the concierge team and the property was so beautiful. The front desk was very welcoming and top tier.. We spent 5 nights at the resort. The pool was exceptional and the golf course immaculate. Room service came everyday- fresh towels, cleaned the room, replenished our coffee area and fridge. Breakfast was delicious; lots of variety of food. The only negative, they do not have a designated gift shop but they had a long strip nearby, walkable distance with a pharmacy, pet store, etc…we will come back

I recently stayed at The Santa Maria Hotel in Panama and overall had a wonderful experience. The property is beautiful, very clean, and well maintained. The rooms were comfortable, the amenities were excellent, and the service throughout most of the hotel was friendly and attentive. The highlight of our stay was the steakhouse. The food quality was absolutely amazing — truly one of the best meals we had in the entire city. The flavors, presentation, and service were all exceptional, and it’s definitely a restaurant I would return to even if I weren’t staying at the hotel. The only area that needs improvement is the breakfast restaurant. While the food was good, the ladies working there consistently appeared unhappy and not very welcoming. A bit more warmth and hospitality would elevate the experience, especially in such a high-end hotel. Other than that, everything else was great, and I would still recommend the hotel. With some improvement to the breakfast service, this could easily become a perfect 5-star stay.

The entire staff at The Santa Maria was excellent. The hotel was kept in impeccable condition. The rooms were spacious and clean. The beds were comfortable. Anytime we needed something sent to our room it was there in a matter of minutes. The pool area was sufficient and clean. The only 2 negatives in my opinion was the food options. We are vegetarian and the food options were extremely limited. If you didn't do the breakfast buffet and decided to go a la cart it took a very, very long time for the food to come out. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and would highly recommend this hotel.

Clean, well designed rooms. Soft king bed and pillows, desk, nice shower with rain showerhead. Golf course was hard to navigate without knowing itslayout as a visitor, but nice course though. Wish there was more casual resturants open by pool on Sundays or anyday for relaxing time. More formal dress inside hotel and restaurants. Helen in the Spa offered great pedi/manicare/nail services. Quality food in restaurants. Many staff members are bi lingual. US prices in this resort. 5 star stay.

Santa Maria is a wonderful hotel and great staff. The only problem I had was when the AC came on at night I felt that there was a plane flying overhead. Also in my room the balcony door didn’t lock. Having said the above I wouldn’t hesitate to return.

David and Sara at the front desk was wonderful and very helpful! Carlos at the pool bar was superb! The pool was only crowded 1 day out of our 7 day stay! The restaurant had delicious food! The coffee shop had wonderful pastries! Room was wonderful! Only thing to note: hotel isn’t in downtown Panama City, some tour operators wanted extra $$$ for pickup.

Property, staff and overall a great place to stay. I travelled to Panama on a 2 day business trip and this is a great place to stay. The first night I had an issue with a person that had a “party” right next door and was really loud until 4am, I called security and they took care of the matter. I changed to another room.

Deeply Disappointing and Unsafe Experience Our stay at Santa Maria Hotel was one of the most disappointing and anxiety-inducing trips we have ever experienced, largely due to the hotel’s alarming lack of understanding, preparedness, and care around food allergies, compounded by consistently poor service. We always notify hotels in advance about our child’s severe food allergies. Prior to arrival, we emailed Santa Maria twice, clearly listing our child’s allergens and specifically requesting a short meeting with management upon arrival something we do on every trip to ensure our child’s safety. This request was refused, and we were told it would be “fine” to speak to staff once we arrived. We were also explicitly assured in writing that our child’s allergies were on file. On arrival, it became immediately clear that no one had any knowledge of our child’s allergies, despite the prior emails and confirmations. Even more concerning, we had paid for an upgraded suite and specifically requested no nuts in the room. The room was stocked with multiple nut-containing items, including Snickers and M&S products. We had to repeatedly ask for these to be removed, even after being told it had already been done. The service at the pool bar and restaurant was, quite frankly, alarmingly incompetent not only regarding allergens but service in general. Orders were regularly forgotten, even when the venue was not busy, despite us asking three or four times.

I recently stayed at The Santa Maria Hotel in Panama and overall had a wonderful experience. The property is beautiful, very clean, and well maintained. The rooms were comfortable, the amenities were excellent, and the service throughout most of the hotel was friendly and attentive. The highlight of our stay was the steakhouse. Check-in was late, did not get items ordered at restaurants but was charged, service at restaurants was almost non existent, received inaccurate information regarding airport transportation (was told it would cost $5 and actually cost $35), communication from front desk to transportation company was incomplete and we received a call at 1am for pick-up time at 2pm.

The property is excellent and close to the airport. Staff is friendly and willing to go the extra mile to assist guest. Sylvia Goodrich, Issac, Leah, Kimberly and Elizabeth just to name a few were absolutely great. The only issue, the day before checkout, I request transportation to the airport. I specifically asked if I can pay with card. I was told by the front desk it was possible. On Sunday morning, transportation was there as requested. My family and I had a beautiful stay at The Santa Maria. it definitely felt luxurious, the staff were extremely pleasant and eager to assist. It was far enough from the city where we got to enjoy some peace and quiet but also close enough to book affordable Ubers/taxis to the city. We were able to communicate in both Spanish and English with staff. The resort was huge and allowed us to walk around. We ate dinner at the restaurant on property the first night. The food was sooo good! 10/10, I recommend this property.

David and Sara at the front desk was wonderful and very helpful! Carlos at the pool bar was superb! The pool was only crowded 1 day out of our 7 day stay! The restaurant had delicious food! The coffee shop had wonderful pastries! Room was wonderful! Only thing to note: hotel isn’t in downtown Panama City, some tour operators wanted extra $$$ for pickup.

The entire staff at The Santa Maria was excellent. The hotel was kept in impeccable condition. The rooms were spacious and clean. The beds were comfortable. Anytime we needed something sent to our room it was there in a matter of minutes. The pool area was sufficient and clean. The only 2 negatives in my opinion was the food options. We are vegetarian and the food options were extremely limited. If you didn't do the breakfast buffet and decided to go a la cart it took a very, very long time for the food to come out. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and would highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel was very clean and well kept. They offer a decent breakfast buffet on site which was super beneficial traveling with two toddlers. This hotel caters to golfers but we were able to find things to do in the surrounding areas. There are restaurants on sight and also restaurants right outside the hotel by the parking area. There are two pools and a small pool that was perfect for my two toddlers. 24 hour room service was also available.
