What was not mentioned was the property is 500 years old and a former home of the Medici family. Like staying in a palace. For example 15 ft timbered ceilings, large windows withy what looked like original hardware. Definitely a remarkable facility. It is on the second / third floors with no elevator.

Hôtel très bien placé dans le centre de Florence au 2nd étage (sans ascenseur). Même si la chambre possède une douche et un lavabo, les toilettes sont partagées et donc sur le palier. Établissement très propre dans les parties communes et dans les chambres, mais la literie est peut être à revoir. La chambre avait une vue sur le dôme de Florence.

Two negative points were the amount of stairs, hotel situated on 3rd floor with no lift and the bathroom was shared. However, the building is 500 yrs old and interior is beautiful. Staff very friendly and informative. As a solo female traveler I wanted to be in the city centre so the negatives were a trade off for safety and proximity to the city. I would defiantly stay again but maybe bring a smaller case :)

O hotel é super bem localizado! Está a 2 minutos de distância do Duomo e é de fácil acesso. O atendimento foi excelente. O quarto era ótimo e mesmo o uso do banheiro compartilhado foi uma experiência tranquila. Quem está trazendo malas grandes, só precisa ter atenção pois o hotel é no segundo andar e não tem elevador.

We stayed 2 nights @ the Hotel Bavaria. I don't think we had the best room but we were fairly comfortable. There is no A/C, a fan was supplied but unfortunately the one we had did not work well & did stop working. The fan was replaced but it was noisy. Wifi worked well, bed was comfortable, lots of hangers in the closet, and there was a safe & kettle. No TV. Our room had a sink & shower, toilet was down the hall. There were 2 communal bathroom and both were clean & well presented. There was never any coffee in the communal breakfast room, just packages of instant coffee & sugar only. No fridge. The rooms in a historic building (16th century?) so it was like staying in a castle and that was pretty awesome. Climbing up the stairs was brutal even though we were prepared for that. The location was perfect, short distance to the heart of Florence If ever in Florence again, would be happy to stay here again.

Great location! I didn’t realize this hotel did not have air conditioning so I was sweaty for my entire stay and I also didn’t notice that in their description, they clearly mentioned no lift so I had to drag several pieces of luggage up four flights of stairs. Other than that, the place was clean and everyone was friendly.

The location was the only redeeming part of this hotel. Our room has no air conditioning and the manager was unwilling to do anything about it. We took a reading one evening and it was 101.8F in our room. We decided to sit a bit in their reception area because they had a small AC unit there. While we were there the manager turned it off because he wanted to “save energy” whilst sitting in his office with an AC blasting. Don’t stay here.

The hotel says Bed and Breakfast no breakfast service. Also, was nice but the shared bathrooms got gross fast. It was a lot of hair everywhere. I don’t know I’d stay again. Should be called a hostel not a hotel. Also, lots of stairs which I wished was stated somewhere so it wasn’t so hard to get to with all the bags. Better for backpackers. Staff was nice. And clean in the room.

I loved the location of the hotel very close to Duomo and most of other attractions. The bathrooms and my room were very clean. Very helpful and polite manager.I really enjoyed my stay.

Whilst a 16th century building may entice you, the service and condition of the rooms here is not worth the initial aesthetic charm. We were aware that air conditioning is not provided, but were not expecting the absolute sauna that was our room. When we asked, politely, if there was anything that could be done, we were greeted with mostly disinterest and asked ‘what do you expect us to do?’ After asking again the second night, we were relunctantly given a portable air conditioner for our third and final night. The shared bathroom was used by at least 6 rooms and was not cleaned enough considering how many people were using it. We had to ask for fresh towels in our room and the ones given weren’t clean. I think there are many other hotels in Firenze that would provide a better stay for the price.

my parents had a wonderful stay at this hotel in Florence, just steps away from the Duomo — the location couldn’t be better! The rooms are surprisingly spacious, clean, and very comfortable. Staff were really friendly and check in was smooth. Details were sent on how to find the property which was a bit complicated only thing missing was that you needed to ring doorbell before you got keys ( we worked it out) Really central for Florence, great restaurants nearby. Downside 4 flights of stone steps and no lift also shared toilet and the shower is literally a cubicle in corner of room

Lovely hotel, in a good location. Only one bathroom on the floor i was on which made things awkward at times. There was often a loud noise from a boiler or something that was one room away from mine that woke me up during the night several times, but otherwise a good experience.

At the heart of Florence, this hotel is less than a 15-minute walk from all the major museums. It's close to shops, dining, and the Piazza della Signoria, as well as the Duomo. The hotel itself is clean and friendly looking. We had a large room with shower (no toilet) for 4 people, which worked well. The temperature each day there was about 93F/34C, so we took multiple cool showers each day. However, there were three beds (a double and two singles) for the four of us, and only two fans (no a/c). When I asked about another fan, the afternoon staff attendant said that they didn't have any more. Given summer temperatures and no a/c, they should have extra fans. Also, when I told him how hot one of our fans got on the first night, he got very defensive and insisted that no one had ever complained about that before (as if it were our fault). There was a nice coffee area with a good coffee machine (cappuccino, espresso, hot chocolate, etc.) that was free and self-service in the morning. There was also a nice pitcher of a refreshing infusion (lemon grass, I think) that was good. We took advantage of both of these things.

Room was basic. Shared bathroom wasn't bad. (One was really nice) what's worst was .. when we got back from our evening outing, main door (it's supposed to be automatic by using the key) did not work at all. We were stuck outside for a while. We tried to call them by phone. No answer. We were afraid we'd have to go get another hotel for the night. Luckily other people who are staying different level/hotel - were able to open the main door for us. No apologies not sympathy from the staff even when we told the problem. We'll never stay here again.
Room was basic. Shared bathroom wasn't bad. (One was really nice) what's worst was .. when we got back from our evening outing, main door (it's supposed to be automatic by using the key) did not work at all. We were stuck outside for a while. We tried to call them by phone. No answer. We were afraid we'd have to go get another hotel for the night. Luckily other people who are staying different level/hotel - were able to open the main door for us. No apologies not sympathy from the staff even when we told the problem. We'll never stay here again.

Two negative points were the amount of stairs, hotel situated on 3rd floor with no lift and the bathroom was shared. However, the building is 500 yrs old and interior is beautiful. Staff very friendly and informative. As a solo female traveler I wanted to be in the city centre so the negatives were a trade off for safety and proximity to the city. I would defiantly stay again but maybe bring a smaller case :)

Whilst a 16th century building may entice you, the service and condition of the rooms here is not worth the initial aesthetic charm. We were aware that air conditioning is not provided, but were not expecting the absolute sauna that was our room. When we asked, politely, if there was anything that could be done, we were greeted with mostly disinterest and asked ‘what do you expect us to do?’ After asking again the second night, we were relunctantly given a portable air conditioner for our third and final night. The shared bathroom was used by at least 6 rooms and was not cleaned enough considering how many people were using it. We had to ask for fresh towels in our room and the ones given weren’t clean. I think there are many other hotels in Firenze that would provide a better stay for the price.

The location was the only redeeming part of this hotel. Our room has no air conditioning and the manager was unwilling to do anything about it. We took a reading one evening and it was 101.8F in our room. We decided to sit a bit in their reception area because they had a small AC unit there. While we were there the manager turned it off because he wanted to “save energy” whilst sitting in his office with an AC blasting. Don’t stay here.

O hotel é super bem localizado! Está a 2 minutos de distância do Duomo e é de fácil acesso. O atendimento foi excelente. O quarto era ótimo e mesmo o uso do banheiro compartilhado foi uma experiência tranquila. Quem está trazendo malas grandes, só precisa ter atenção pois o hotel é no segundo andar e não tem elevador.

The hotel says Bed and Breakfast no breakfast service. Also, was nice but the shared bathrooms got gross fast. It was a lot of hair everywhere. I don’t know I’d stay again. Should be called a hostel not a hotel. Also, lots of stairs which I wished was stated somewhere so it wasn’t so hard to get to with all the bags. Better for backpackers. Staff was nice. And clean in the room.

We had an exceptional stay. The city is splendid. The hotel staff at the reception are lovely. They explained the main attractions and places to visit very well. It's important to know that there is no breakfast service, but there is a coffee machine available from 8 AM to 11 AM and a small fridge to store your market items, orange juice, fruits, etc. Fresh water is always available in the dispenser in the main room. It gets really, really hot in the summer. Even the air conditioning and fan were not enough

We stayed 2 nights @ the Hotel Bavaria. I don't think we had the best room but we were fairly comfortable. There is no A/C, a fan was supplied but unfortunately the one we had did not work well & did stop working. The fan was replaced but it was noisy. Wifi worked well, bed was comfortable, lots of hangers in the closet, and there was a safe & kettle. No TV. Our room had a sink & shower, toilet was down the hall. There were 2 communal bathroom and both were clean & well presented. There was never any coffee in the communal breakfast room, just packages of instant coffee & sugar only. No fridge. The rooms in a historic building (16th century?) so it was like staying in a castle and that was pretty awesome. Climbing up the stairs was brutal even though we were prepared for that. The location was perfect, short distance to the heart of Florence If ever in Florence again, would be happy to stay here again.

At the heart of Florence, this hotel is less than a 15-minute walk from all the major museums. It's close to shops, dining, and the Piazza della Signoria, as well as the Duomo. The hotel itself is clean and friendly looking. We had a large room with shower (no toilet) for 4 people, which worked well. The temperature each day there was about 93F/34C, so we took multiple cool showers each day. However, there were three beds (a double and two singles) for the four of us, and only two fans (no a/c). When I asked about another fan, the afternoon staff attendant said that they didn't have any more. Given summer temperatures and no a/c, they should have extra fans. Also, when I told him how hot one of our fans got on the first night, he got very defensive and insisted that no one had ever complained about that before (as if it were our fault). There was a nice coffee area with a good coffee machine (cappuccino, espresso, hot chocolate, etc.) that was free and self-service in the morning. There was also a nice pitcher of a refreshing infusion (lemon grass, I think) that was good. We took advantage of both of these things.

I think that the hotel it's in a great location but if your room is not in the first floor, you better be ready for a lots of steps. I didn't like that I was charged by Expedia for taxes but I received message that I have to pay taxes again but only cash. Also, not AC.

The property itself is wonderful—very clean, in a perfect location, and the room was exceptionally spacious for our family of two adults and two teenagers. We truly enjoyed our stay and found the accommodations comfortable and well-maintained. The only downside was our experience with the staff. While visiting Florence, we met up with family members who briefly accompanied us to our room to drop something off. We were immediately approached by a staff member who informed us that we could not have visitors and could not bring additional bags into the room. The interaction felt unnecessarily abrupt and unwelcoming. We explained that our family members were not staying at the property and were only dropping off belongings for us. We were surprised to be told that we needed permission for someone to enter the room or to bring in additional luggage. As paying guests, we felt the situation could have been handled more professionally and with greater courtesy. We were not causing any disturbance, and this occurred during the middle of the day—not during a party or disruptive gathering.
