The Westin Oaks Houston at the Galleria

We struggled to find parking next to the hotel since it shared parking with the mall. Staff was also unhelpful when we asked for towels.

The hotel is beautiful and well kept. The decor is modern and gives a first class vibe. I enjoyed the availability and cleanliness of the fitness center and the 3rd floor hotel restaurant. I felt safe and secure in this hotel and i appreciate the security system connected to the entrances and the elevators. My only real critique is that the 4th floor roof top pool need furniture and decor upgrades and there is far too much room in the pool area for so much of the space to be empty and unused. There should be more atmosphere around the pool area. There are speakers everywhere around the pool area but no music, no sound at all. I really enjoyed this hotel and my executive king, corner room was perfectly decorated and smelled amazing. I loved the space and the separate sitting area. I will be back.

I liked that everything we needed to do was conveniently close. The mall was easily accessible and so were the stores we needed to go to. What I didn’t like was that if you need ADA parking there were only 4 parking spots available for that.

Worst parking for guests.

The only disappointment was the pool area, the overall feel and aesthetics of the area was disappointed.

The hotel is nice, clean, and conveniently located. DO NOT USE VALET. They damaged my truck.

The hotel is in the mall and the parking area is mall parking and ridiculously full and chaotic. The tv was broken our entire stay so we couldn’t watch our hometown’s hockey playoff games. The room was never cleaned. We had to ask for toilet paper and didn’t get coffee to make after the first morning. The bar was supposed to be open till midnight. We went to get a night cap at 11:30 and the bartender had already shut it down. We shamed him to open it back up. Not a quality stay for $900 for only nights.

My one night hotel stay was Great. Hotel was very clean and the staff was great. Even though we didn't do any shopping, it was great that the hotel is attached to the Galleria Mall and that we could self park for free in the Mall's garage which beats the valet parking charge. Great location! The only drawback was that the pool area needs some upgrades!

Not sure if there was a problem from the recent hurricane, but the lobby and several other floors had a terrible mildew smell. Other than that, the hotel was nice

The room was clean at first glance, but the desk/TV stand was covered in cup rings and Spill marks.

The room has mildew they need to tear the carpet out of that building Musta had water damage. In the past. I moved from one room to another one and they both still had the mildew smell. My sinuses got very irritated.

Hotel appeared nice from lobby. Need room key to use elevators which was nice. Valet was overpriced. Sheets were stained in room. Restaurant was closed due to remodeling. Tv remote in room didn’t work. Room service closed early and the one time we did call for service they never showed up. I didn’t feel that the price of the room was worth it.

We enjoyed this hotel very much. Conveniently located right in the mall, we ate at Joey Uptown across the street and it was delicious. Bedding and room were very nice and clean. There were actually multiple layers of bedding which I appreciate rather than the thin "blanket/sheet" that seems to be popular. We would definitely stay here again. A+++

AC was a liitle poor, climate control in room was not that good. They charged me $30.00 for packaging handling of little things which was very unsatisfying.

It said free WiFi on line when I booked the hotel, but actually it's not. :(

Hotel is nice and room too. Nice shower and bathroom. Good view on a city and pool. Bedroom is very good arranged.

In general the hotel was great. I got stuck in an elevator for about 20 minutes. The staff was great and rectified the situation quickly. And one day the shower had little hot water. Otherwise the hotel was great.

I was impressed with the room especially the shower. The amenities were excellent like the fitness area and the pool. I found it a bit noisy at night you could hear the traffic from the 20th floor. The staff was very friendly and worked very hard. I probably would stay here again, but ask for a room facing the other side.

The toilet in my room did not flush, so the dirt accumulated when I just checked in. It took two requests with the front desk to have it fixed within 4 hours. Then I needed to ask again to clean it. The front desk person couldn't explain what is being served at the club and was not very welcoming, Eileen, I believe. Other front desk people were more professional and polite. They gave me a late check out, and access to the pool after I checked out. Even walked me to the pool to make sure I can enter. Unfortunately, the people in the room next to mine desided to smoke weed, and the smell was all three days I was there. I wish they vacuumed the hallway carpet with the deodorant/airfreshener to reduce the smell. Overall, I would not return here, unlike my recent Westin Anaheim trip, which was amazing.

I had to ask for more towels, 3 Times. I come frequently, every time I come it is the same thing. I have to ask for towels. Then the employee brings a little bit of towels. Nothing ever changes. This is waste of time.

I had some packages delivered during my stay, and I wasn’t aware there would be a $10 charge per package, even as a guest with a reservation. In the end, I was charged more than expected (about $65), and when I inquired, the adjustments and deductions weren’t clearly explained, which left me a bit confused. It would be great if the package policy were communicated more clearly and managed more transparently. Another hiccup was with breakfast. Although my reservation didn’t include breakfast, a staff member at the front desk kindly offered me a complimentary breakfast for Friday as an upgrade. Unfortunately, when I arrived at the restaurant, they told me it wasn’t included and I had to pay for it—so that was a bit disappointing and awkward. Lastly, there was a $29 daily charge for amenities like restaurant credit, skating, and museum access, which I wasn’t interested in using. I would have appreciated the option to decline that charge, rather than having it automatically added. Despite these concerns, the hotel itself is beautiful and well-maintained, and the staff was generally helpful and friendly. I just hope they can improve clarity and consistency around charges.

My granddaughter wanted a shopping excursion at the galleria for her birthday. The hotel was so convenient to the mall that it made her experience. The security of the hotel was amazing

The area is convenient. Didn’t drive and used ride share. Hotel very centralized. Love the access to the mall. Security between floors is great. Hotel smelled wonderful. Room was great.

I loved the convenience and the location.

We loved the property. Everyone is friendly and helpful. Everything looks and feels upscale. We loved being connected to the mall. Traffic is bad, which is to be expected in downtown Houston. We left our car parked and took a lyft around town.

The Westin is always a wonderful place whether it be in Birmingham or Houston. Staff are extremely helpful and food is great!

Convenient to local restaurants outside of the mall, but no shuttle van. Had to Lyft everywhere. While the hotel was pretty on the inside, the outside of building was old and run down including the windows & doors leading into the lobby. The rooms were nice, but the popcorn ceiling and drop ceilings were outdated. Looks like this is where you cheaped out. The restaurant the White Oak was good, but they were out of 3 dishes including pancakes, but they could make waffles. Overall though the service was good the housekeeping was great and the fitness center was very nice and clean. Having mall access was very convenient.

The room service was.horrible for a top notch hotel

Cons- Toilet was not working properly it kept on making a really loud noise after flushing, couldn’t connect my phone to tv due to an error, they need to update the popcorn ceiling to a more modern look, blow dryer needs more power, shower pressure could use more power as well. Pros Amazing view, bed is comfortable, nice restroom, mall access through hotel, valet service is very efficient, nice bar.

Good location and room upgrade was nice. However, there was no assistance with our baggage at check-in. Service used to be better. Ice machine on our floor was broken. Room service food quality was good but the “service” is more of a food delivery than actual service. The hotel feels more like an extended stay.
