Garden State Inn

I was visiting the shore for a few days and selected this place due to proximity and price. The check in was very quick. The room itself was clean and didn’t smell like cigarettes or products trying to cover up smells. The bathroom was fine and water pressure was good with hot water available within 20 seconds. Parking was great and well lit. The downsides are it’s dated so the bed lamps had no port charging as I forgot mine at home in DC. I used the back of the tv to charge but def inconvenient but also my fault for assuming. The sheets were clean, pillowcases clean but worn out, there were cigarette burns in the blankets which I left for the cleaning staff to see. Overall it was a great value for the end of the summer and I’ve been to worse.

It’s not worth the price they charge. Pool wasn’t open in July.

The property was clean and the rooms were very clean and comfortable. The pool was unusable. The continental breakfast was sparse with an open yogurt container. The coffee was good and hot! The property was in a great location!

Older property but was clean...staff was chill...parking goes fast

In the description, it stated it had a pool after checking in.There was no pool. But the staff was very nice and accommodating.

Room was clean but needs updating. Pool is not in use. Staff could use some friendliness.

Didn't like no pool and location

Hotel rooms are great , includes fridge and microwave . Pool is small and outdated , “breakfast” is just muffins, a tub of yogurt with a spoon for everybody to get and orange juice. Boardwalk is about 20 min away . Decent price .

The Pics on the site were lucrative but overall appearance is poor. though the rooms are mentioned smoke free, cigarette buds can be seen every where and filthy trash cans. Lamps had nonworking bulbs, TVs of the last century, The site mentioned that they have a pool, literary grass was growing in it and was closed. Breakfast place was very unhygenic, the attendant put a large yogurt can with a spoon, pre-opened leaking cream cheese packets....and bread seemed two days olds, no one to clean the tables...one man running the show.....overall poor show.

Last minute trip and it was not bad. Price wasn’t bad for our family and the space works out perfect being something we decided last minute. Room was clean and we stay for two nights would have been nice if someone came and clean up the room a little and give us clean towel and change the trash bag after the first night that didn’t happen. We needed new towel had to go to the front desk out self try calling them for like 30 minutes and no answer plus we had to take back the dirty towel our self to the front desk to get clean ones. Park was a no issue and the pool wasn’t open when we were there.

There was a HUGE pike of garbage about 5 feet from my door. It smelled really gross, like mold inside. There was flies and a wasp in the room. There was a few minor holes in the walls and cracks throughout. We kept our shoes on the entire time and didn't sleep under the blankets. I'd never stay there again.

The rooms are dirty and needs maintenance. The light switch is hanging off the wall. Dirt on the bathroom floor. The front desk agent is impolite. Out of all the hotels on this road, this is one I will not be staying at.

Pros Microwave Fridge Big bed Big bathtub Air Conditioning Close to beaches Cons Smells horrible Cigarette burns everywhere Pubic hairs under covers Cracks in walls and Doors Banging in the middle of the night 50$ deposit? First motel I’ve been at that does that Still don’t have that deposit Just felt dirty and grimey The smell was just so horrible I need to mention it twice Just spend just a little more money for a reputable hotel and if you choose to stay here just make sure you take a picture of everything that is broken so there is no chance they take your deposit or anything.

Cleanliness

Very clean. Just stayed quickly overnight.

Our room was dingy and not clean. There was blood on the bathroom wall, someone's (maybe beard) hair all over the sink counter (yuk), carpet was very dirty and worn out. This place needs a major deep clean and updates (even old CFL bulbs in light fixtures). Do not believe any positive reviews on the motel, they are fake to boost their ratings. We were very disappointed in this place.

Within 15 minutes of my arrival, I saw a large cockroach, cigarette burn holes in the linens, and blood stains on the mattress. Immediately went to front desk to check out. Still waiting to see a refund of my room rental as well as the $50 deposit they charged at check in.

We always stay here when we go to Atlantic City. Prices are reasonable and the rooms are clean.

We got the honeymoon suite. The door to the bathroom was broken. The lamp was broken. We told the front desk ahead of time to make sure they knew it was like that before we got there. They said they knew they were broke already. The hot tub was nice, a little small for a honeymoon suite but still was nice. Had no real problems with our stay besides the condition of the room.

The bottom of the tub was weak & I felt like I was gonna fall through. Also the shower curtain wouldn't close all the way because the rod was bent & broken almost falling off the shower wall. The sink outside of the bathroom (small bar I guess) had no running water & the light over that sink did not work.

15 minutes from Atlantic City affordable and has jetted tubs and smoking rooms. Breakfast is just bagels muffins and boiled eggs, but if you need late checkout you can pay $10 for an hour or 2 which is great!

There was trash all over the place from trash cans not being changed. Breakfast was over at 945 and there was no internet unless you paid for it daily through an outside network. Won’t be staying again.

We really enjoyed it , jacuzzi was great . We will be back .

I verified TWICE with the front desk what their EXPANDED BREAKFAST was about and they assured me TWICE it included protein: eggs and bacon. This was one of the determining factors to stay there. I do not care about the pseudo snack bar style breakfast. Then all that was delivered was a miserably simple carbohydrate based breakfast. No bacon, no eggs, no sausage, Huge cheat. Nobody at the frontdesk to talk about that. Thety probably knew and made sure they were not there That was a HUGE turnoff. There is NO EXCUSE. JUST A CHEAP CHEAT. While not part of the package they did have a pool and typical for absecon it was totally neglected. Just a shame, but it was not inckuded but it shows they are not there to hit the high marks of satsifaction. Just very stupid to spoil the stay over lying about the breakfast. Also their high-speed internet was substandard. It needed repeated tries after which it might just hang up or say sorry download too slow. I just totally hate when what is advertised and important to me is not delivered. But beware other places may advertise having a pool and in fact only have an opening with dirt where a pool used to be.....Otherwise there was a free upgrade (I did not need or use) and the room was in good shape and clean. I am old-style. Do not lie to me.

Comfortable and quiet

While it was apparent that the room had recently been painted, there were broken electrical outlet covers and a few other items. A few light bulbs weren't working. The WIFI was the worst I've tried in a hotel in some years. there wasn't a single USB power port in the room. If we had been there more than one night (the reason we didn't complain) I'd have asked for a different room. Also, the mattress had a dip in the middle that we didn't really notice until we went to bed.

I stay here regularly, to enjoy AC. I always book a Queen bed room and always get upgraded to a King with a Jacuzzi tub.

The property was fine, clean and neat. Breakfast was very simple - just okay. Check-in was problematic. They had trouble creating a card key for our room. It took nearly half an hour to resolve it. Also, a $50 deposit was required, which you had warned was possible. The deposit went through and was charged to my card. I called to ask and they indicated it should not have been. However, I received no assistance from them other than wait, it should be cancelled. I finally sought help from my credit card company who has undertaken to investigate. I was not satisfied with this.

Everything was good , except being confronted by the person checking out on Sunday. He took my keys then followed me outside, grabbed open my car door and was harassing me for a tip. Earlier while packing up my car he also approached me asking for something. I thought it was a vagrant just walking around, until I saw him at the checkout desk again.

Staff was courteous. Room was clean as it could be after people traipse through everyday. Breakfast was good.

We waited for over 1 hour to check in but nobody is in the front desk.

Do not stay here.This guy tried to rip me off for the price of a room that was booked on expedia.I get there and he wouldnt let me check in because i didnt have a card with $50 on it for a deposit.Had to get the police involved.Had stayed there 4 or 5 times previously no problems.He got loud and ignorant with ne as well.A real POS!

I checked in and the room was very noisy from the road noise. I inquired at the office about switching rooms if possible. I was yelled at that nothing could be done and I was making the clerk mad. The person continued yelling and being hostile. I ended up leaving the office after the person yelled at me to cancel with Expedia if I had a problem. Expedia cancelled the stay since the clerk wouldn’t answer their calls. The place felt very unsafe.

I booked a room here specifically because I was checking in late. The web page said 24/7 front desk. I got there at about 1:30 AM. The front door to the lobby was open. I rang the bell on the desk and no one came. I called their front desk on their local number three times and let it ring and ring about 20 times and no answer. I also had pounded on door to the office loudly multiple times and no answer. Ended up having to go to another hotel down the street. It was a totally agravatting situation and a huge waste of time.

The king bed jetted tub room is worth the extra price. The location is 15 minutes from AC for a fraction of the cost.

I was scare to get some ice. The WiFi was good. There are several stores within walking distance to get snacks, food, toiletries etc.. Very easy to get to downtown Atlantic City near the boardwalk. I would stay overnight again.

Stayed at this property overnight. The rooms are clean the heat worked very well. Cable channels are great safe location. 25 minute drive to Atlantic City. Plenty of food options around. I would stay here again.

It was a clean and comfortable room. It was convenient to stay in from Atlantic City. There was nothing special about it and we felt the price was a little higher than we would have liked for an average room. The breakfast was ok but I was disappointed that they did not have hot water and tea available.

The room was fine for a couple nights sleep. Good bed. The "breakfast" should not even be mentioned on Expedia. Nasty mini muffins, bagels, toast and an open cobtainer of yogurt is NOT breakfast! Coffee was good. We stayed for 2 nights, our room was not cleaned! Only stay there if sleeping is what you need it for! Lots of casual restaurants nearby, 5 to 10 minutes. Also felt ripped off by Expedia, was charged twice the amount the hotel and Expedia had on their websites on the day we checked in! Not happy about that.

The hotel is Okey for the money. No actual breakfast..just some breads and apples. Jaccuzzi are there but don't work just a shower.But rooms worthy for the money.

Run down, but very clean room. Awesome shower pressure. Breakfast was only bread and bagels. Only there one night, so met our needs.

Room needs to be aired out. Breakfast was two cereals , bagel apples shot-glass muffins!
