Great property that was clean and welcoming. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly both at reception and in the breakfast area. The rooftop bar was beautiful but only open from 6pm and not on mondays. Would be a great spot to read and chill out during the day.

Great location. Comfortable bed. They however do not have a rooftop bar. We were told different stories about why we couldn’t access it. We booked the room for the convenance and experience of the bar but this is not available. If you are going to book here check to see if the rooftop bar is open.

Loved, loved, loved this hotel. The room was fantastic. Super clean. Loved the morning breakfast. In the perfect location. Central to everything via walking (except airport and cruise port). I would without hesitation stay here again. The staff was super friendly. And the icing on the cake was the amazing view of The Acropolis from the rooftop bar!

The staff was excellent, particularly Desi at the front desk who was extremely helpful with directions, restaurant and beach recommendations and everything else we needed. The gentleman who ran the breakfast was also very helpful and talked with us. The property is very modern and stylish, although our bathroom needed a deep cleaning (grout mold, etc.). The area around the hotel is dirty and dark with lots of grafitti and noise from a dance bar nearby (like most of Athens).

Area was great and easy to get to attractions. Room was nice, but AC didn't work at all and it was noisy outside as well as in the hall early in the morning from the cleaning crew. Also bathroom door—its a glass opaque door so you can hear everything if you are sharing a room! Not very private!

It was fair for what I paid, two big issues in my opinion: 1. You have to take two elevators and is like a lyberint all across the building. 2. There is a club just out of the hotel and the music and no side ends at 4:00 am all days, you can’t sleep with all that noise.

We stayed at this hotel with our son and daughter in law. If you are considering this hotel please note that the balcony in room 203 is tiny and has plants on it and no furniture. My son reserved this room and it was awful they heard all the street noise and got no sleep. We felt bad for him cause we recommended this hotel from the reviews. He paid extra for a balcony he couldn't enjoy. We reserved 210 and it was fine nothing fancy. It was clean and functional. I only thought the waste baskets could of been larger. This hotel is a 3 minute walk to the metro. It is in a convenient location with many restaurants around. We didn't have the breakfast. There is a wonderful bakery a few doors from the hotel . We enjoyed our stay but would not recommend a balcony room on the second floor.

The staff are friendly. L’ovation of the hotel is superb which most of the tourist points are in walkable distant. It is close to tube station. Room is clean and cozy designed. The only bad thing is my room is facing the Main Street and during the weekend the street is noisy which I need to put my earbud for sleep.

While the hotel is nothing of significance to write home about, it is comfortable, safe, and clean. The buffet breakfast has plenty of options. My only concern for the stay was that we were told by check-in staff not to change the temperature in our room from heat to cool because our room’s thermostat controlled several other rooms as well, and other people would complain. This is odd to me, and not having control of my air conditioning will prevent me from staying here again. With that said, the stay was okay overall.

You could hear everything on the street (no soundproofing) and so I wasn’t able to sleep the two nights I was there. The gym was also just some cardio machines and a few free weights so quite basic. Some of the windows also didn’t have any privacy curtains so I’d have to keep the blinds down so people couldn’t see me from the street.

All is good except for the central cooling/heating system. It was approaching winter in Nov but not that cold for a heater yet. However, the system has been toggled to just give out warm air as per protocol for winter, making the room super warm and hot. We had to resort to opening the windows just to have some cool air. Not advisable if folks need cool air and cannot withstand stale/warm air

Front desk staff had us wait in lobby for 2 hours. It was only when we went to the desk to ask if rooms were ready thay they said yes and gave keys. Roof top patio music was so loud we had to leave. Elevator issues as well. Family loft pics did not show how bunkbeds so when we walked in, it was the couch that became the bunkbed. Very small. When i went down to ask for another room or a roll out for my daughter who is closterphobic i was told no other room and for roll out it was 150 euros per night. I was not happy as i said the pictures on expedia do not show bunkbeds and they returned with that is not our issue it is expedias. Will never stay here again

It is located in an area that the locals visit so prices were reasonable. People everywhere were so friendly and eager to accommodate us. Rooftop bar has a wonderful view of Acropolis at night

the staff was amazingly helpful, nice, friendly, and just plain sharp and efficient. the room, while a tad small, had tall ceilings and was well-appointed so felt generous and accommodating. we couldn't ask for a better location for a one-night stay: we visited the central market, walked to the agora, wandered the reaches of psyrri, and ate well in the surrounding area.

I would not recommend staying at the NLH Monastiraki. We arrived at just after 11 am had to wait 4 hours to check in, leaving our luggage in a crowded lobby, not in a secure storage area, even though our room was ready before 3 pm. The front desk staff did not bother to alert us that it was ready before 3 pm. When we checked into our room it smelled terribly of cigarette smoke even though the hotel is a non-smoking hotel. Why did housekeeping not remedy that before us checking in?!? They did not give us another room claiming it was all full and that the cigarette smoke was coming from the street below (not true). Even though we were 3 people in the room they only gave us one card and refused to give us one more despite repeated requests claiming they were all out. Our beds had no blanket or duvet on them, just a simple sheet. Breakfast was self service with tea and coffee from a vending machine and the hot food terribly overcooked. On our checkout day the elevator was out of order to we had to carry our luggage down two flights of steps without any assistance. This is is more like a nicely designed hostel and not a properly run hotel. Service and management is very poor for what it charges which is way more than what I paid at an another l4 star hotel in Athens. I would NOT recommend staying here.
I would not recommend staying at the NLH Monastiraki. We arrived at just after 11 am had to wait 4 hours to check in, leaving our luggage in a crowded lobby, not in a secure storage area, even though our room was ready before 3 pm. The front desk staff did not bother to alert us that it was ready before 3 pm. When we checked into our room it smelled terribly of cigarette smoke even though the hotel is a non-smoking hotel. Why did housekeeping not remedy that before us checking in?!? They did not give us another room claiming it was all full and that the cigarette smoke was coming from the street below (not true). Even though we were 3 people in the room they only gave us one card and refused to give us one more despite repeated requests claiming they were all out. Our beds had no blanket or duvet on them, just a simple sheet. Breakfast was self service with tea and coffee from a vending machine and the hot food terribly overcooked. On our checkout day the elevator was out of order to we had to carry our luggage down two flights of steps without any assistance. This is is more like a nicely designed hostel and not a properly run hotel. Service and management is very poor for what it charges which is way more than what I paid at an another l4 star hotel in Athens. I would NOT recommend staying here.

The customer isn't the one to choose… ! - We are Gold members and we’re supposed to get early check in - room upgrade or even late check out (based on availability) but we couldn’t get our room early and late check out is not possible, how does that work?!? - luggage storage, not safe room available, just have to leave in the entrance next to the door… - finally, we got the room next to the lift… not the best when you are supposed to be a VIP member Would not recommend for the price we paid.

Check in was horrible! We were a bit early but we sat in the tiny lobby over 2 hours waiting for our rooms. Not until I asked did the lady make a phone call to find out rooms for 9 of us who were wasting our day sitting around we’re actually ready. Served on rooftop bar was nonstop in our face when we were trying to enjoy our rooftop experience which was not a pleasant one. Checkout…. Elevators were not working so not only our group but others had to carry heavy bags down narrow stairways.

Great room, clean, spacious, good a/c. Very helpful staff. Close to subway station. The street where is located might not be the most touristy but is a 5 min walk to Psyrri where there is plenty of restaurants and bars. Great Value

This hotel is in a great location. We visited end of Sept, when Athens is winding down a bit. There are many restaurants, shopping, and it’s within walking distance to the Acropolis and museum. They have many different rooms to meet your needs. They are modern and clean. We watched beautiful sunsets from the rooftop bar. Breakfast every morning was nice. The staff was friendly. I do need to mention, it can be a bit noisy as it is on a very busy street and area.

The only reason that I've held back is because the breakfast is subpar compared to everything else. Hotel is only a few years old and the accomodations are first rate, clean, everything works and the staff is very pleasant and helpful. We've stayed at many Athens hotels at this price range and this is clearly superior to all of them. The proximity to Monastiraki and Syntagma squares is a bonus. Lots of interesting cafes and shops in the surrounding side streets. Only let down was the breakfast - the eggs were cold and the coffee (they have a vending machine for coffee instead of making it themselves ) was awful. Breakfast was included with our accommdations, otherwise it's €13/person, find something better down the block if not in your package.

Un joli hôtel dans un quartier animé et avec un très bon petit déjeuner mais de nombreux petits détails sont venus perturber notre séjour - roof garden fermé - fausse alarme à incendie la nuit 6 fois de suite à cause d'un problème. - plats du petit déjeuner froids. - boîte de nuit sous l'hôtel avec énormément de musique. - rue très bruyante et appartements pas assez insonorisés... - en tant que membre silver nous devions avoir une bouteille de vin offerte mais rien de tout cela... Fully renovated Hotel with very friendly staff, the decor was modern and comfortable. Our location was great easy access to several markets etc and tourist attractions. Breakfast was wonderful with all options covered, hot and continential. I would definately stay again.

The hotel was 5 minutes from the Monastiraki square and all the shopping, restaurants, hop on, hop off tours and the metro. Even the Acropolis is a short walk away. Loved the vacation. The breakfast is the worst - everything is bought - cakes, muffins, bread. Service is excruciatingly slow. The sole toaster broke down on the 1st day we were there and for the next 2 days there was no toast either. The room was clean and well-appointed. No parking at all.
