Culture Boutique Hotel

We liked the uniqueness and historical aspect of the property and the repurposing of materials from the old to the new.. Also the supporting of many in other countries from the coffee business. The room was comfy and pleasant. The only downside was the lack of a working elevator, and room-darkening curtains at night, as our room faced the street. Very good over all. :)

I have stayed here now 3 times this visit was not what it has been We had to ask for an extension cord so we could hook up the window unit for air as the room was very stuffy This took hours The room next to us had a barking dog The entry door that should securely shut and only open with a code , was not working and did not march leaving the door open at all times with no staff on site after hours This is very concerning Sadly this may be our last visit

Everything was great. Very nice and large room. Only complaint is the elevator was turned off so had to carry are large luggage up the stairs. Great coffee downstairs for breakfast. Walking distance to a variety of restaurants.

One would be cleanliness of the little details, pretty much anywhere with a ledge ie windows, headboard and so on really need to be dusted desperately. The other major issue i was definitely not happy with was the front door! This desperately needs to be fixed, if you leave after the cafe is closed you have a key pad to get back in but it was VERY difficult to get the door to close/locked when you leave.

Eclectic hotel - very clean and homey. Unfortunately lacked some basics. Window coverings afforded no privacy or protection from the sun. No bedside tables and bedside lights were connected to the overhead lights so you couldn’t really have low lighting at all. No network or local tv. Internet service was spotty at best. No door to the bathroom so no privacy there. Bathroom sink clogged up and very slow to drain. No Kleenex. Only lock on the door was a thumb turn lock on the handle so not very secure. Outside door to the hotel had a code but could be easily compromised. (My husband is a security professional and found security quite lacking). Not a very comfortable visit unfortunately.

Very unique experience with excellent bathrooms, good furniture, privacy, and comfort planned for. Access to a fair amount of shopping and plenty of unique restaurants and a coffee shop just dowstairs! Parking is challenging - street parking only. All lots are tow-away near by.

Love this property. Conveniently located near Drury University with easy access and parking. There are a few restaurants nearby in a safe walking distance. Coffee shop downstairs very handy. Not all will love the location but it was perfect for me to access the Drury campus and visit my son and avoid the traffic.

The room was spacious, pretty, clean and unique. I enjoyed reading the books about Russia. The bear pelt on the wall added to the unique aesthetic. It was overall a very creative space! The downstairs area included a cafe, coworking space and gallery, all of which added to the charm. The window AC unit was a bit loud for my liking, but it didn't blow too often because the weather was mild. There are some trains that travel nearby ocassionally, though they aren't too noisy.

Great boutique hotel. Fun, unique rooms. You won’t get all the amenities or toiletries like you would get at a chain hotel, but this is a great place to stay and we will be back!

Loved the location, room was clean and comfy, lots of room, staff was excellent. Really nice to be able to walk downstairs to coffee shop. I will definitely book a stay again in the future

This place was BEAUTIFUL and clean and comfortable. We stayed in two different rooms, which were incredibly spacious. Will stay here every time we come to town. We travel a lot and found the host to be exceptional here, the attached coffee shop is also 10/10.

Cute renovated room in old building, comfortable bed BUT a skylight in a BEDROOM is not a good idea. Too light to sleep the whole night!!! Also the sheer drape in the window did nothing to help to darken the room.

Nice stylish room! Room close to railway and docking location where during evening and night activities going on. One improvement to add double glass in the window to have a bit more insulation and noise downgrade

I only have 2 complaints. The first is the the hotel room had not comfortable seat. It had 2 chairs for sitting at a table, a hard built in bench or the bed. No loveseat or any kind of furniture to lounge in other than the bed. The second issue was the WiFi. It was spotty at best in the room. I had to go to the main floor to get good reception. Since I was there to work as well, I needed WiFi so sitting downstairs instead of my room was less than convenient. The restaurants close by were great and a wide variety from Italian, Dutch, Cuban, Lebanese, pizza, and more. I will probably stay again if I don’t need to work and they can make sure I have a comfortable to sit.

What a gem to have stumbled upon. The beds are so comfy. The shower and jetted tub made the perfect combo. I am more relaxed on this overnight trip than maybe ever. Will 100% stay again.

Good: unique hotel, quiet, clean. Bad: in a odd location kind of an industrial wasteland, no amenities like water or glasses, no windows in the room, strange floorplan with the bathroom separated by from the bedroom by a cloth curtain. Bottomline: there are nicer places to stay in Springfield.

Stayed one night to attend a festival outside Springfield on Sunday. It’s a cute boutique hotel. I think the concepts/themes for the rooms are very loosely fitting but the room was cute either way. It was nice to be right above the coffee shop but would have enjoyed coffee in the room. My biggest complaint is that there are no blinds!!! There were curtains that are thin and didn’t even cover the windows fully. The room faces a street and the street light shined right through the windows to the bed.

I have stayed at this property several times. This is the first time I was not able to work because the internet signal was too slow. Perhaps it was the particular room, maybe something else. I will have to investigate this before I stay again.

Great location on commercial street (one of the few walkable areas of Springfield) with cute shops, cafes, and a farmers market. Only downside was the shower in our room —water pressure was non-existent. I have thick hair and this was a pain. Otherwise perfect stay!

The check-in process was not as convenient as I would have liked. Only one wall in the room let much noise through, unfortunately it was to the room next door. Beautiful room though.

The room feels almost exotic in its uniqueness of decor, and the bed and jetted tub are so relaxing and comfortable. The coffee is selected and roasted by the establishment, and is top-notch (On our second stay we figured out the process of pour-over brewing a little better, and appreciated the notes of the coffee even more.) There is a cafe downstairs with great items (and prices), not to mention delightful aromas! Commercial Street, while older and containing some rundown stretches, is being revitalized, and houses some of Springfield's most unique shopping, dining, and art. Try the Lebanese Place, Blue Heron, Chabom, and Flower and Forge, among many others. (One improvement I would like to see is the addition of some big pillows for the wooden bench along the wall in the Casablanca suite. It is a nice area of the room to relax in, but the wooden bench is just not comfortable. Another sachet of coffee would also be welcome, as we like a cup in our room when we check in, as well as in the morning, but I also understand that the cafe has excellent brews available.)

Exceptionally communicative via text, the hotel staff was always quick to respond to my questions about parking, after hours access, and when we needed a new appliance in the room. Simple, elegant and very clean room with huge windows offering lots of light. Everyone working the cafe downstairs has been lovely, and the coffee service in the room is really fantastic! My first time having a pour over setup in a hotel room, it's a dream!!

This a gem for the lucky ones who are open-minded and adventurous. A six room hotel located in the old historic business district of Springfield. From the outside it is a slightly rundown building, but inside there are bright immensely roomy spaces that are comfortable and a bit luxurious, each one with its own personality. Downstairs is a coffee shop and quiet spaces to visit and hang out. The only downside is that there is no management on site. We loved it so much that we stayed a second unplanned night.

This was astounding! All of the staff were so impressive and I have to say just like real people. I’m so happy I found this stay we will be coming back every chance I get to come back to Springfield !!

Check in was a little confusing, but that is most likely due to booking the room at 4pm the same day. My wife and I enjoyed the place!

Really amazing place. Very well-maintained and even nicer than the photos. Loved the location and the coffee shop downstairs. The owners clearly pour their heart and soul into every inch of this space. Still would give 6/5 stars if I could, but one small note: the check-in process was a little confusing. A quick one-sheet with check-in info might be helpful :)

Nice space. Loved the location near restaurants and C Street shops. Cafe staff were kind and helpful. Try the miso caramel latte. My stay itself was a bust. An outage was clearly outside of their control) but I was disappointed that no one responded or reached out to check in on out of town guests. I reached out to the hotel on facebook due to the outage and no AC from 9:30 PM- 3AM. I have yet to receive a message back on Sunday afternoon, Friday night stay. A flashlight or lantern would have been helpful since there were no emergency lights in the room. So my one night in Missouri and dining in C-Street and kicking back to watch a movie turned into sitting in a dark room and going to bed early with no AC in July.

I was looking to support a local owner instead of a hotel chain for a room close to the airport. I arrived after 9pm and staff gave me a door code and had my room key ready for me I side. Check in was smooth. The room was very clean, large, spacious, bed was comfortable, plenty of lighting, had a refrigerator And microwave, kitchenette area, table for 4, chairs, and a unique reading room. Decor was nice with exposed brick. I chose the room Fabir, which overlooked the Main Street and was able to keep an eye on my vehicle parked outside. Drive to the airport was only 14 minutes. I would like to go back sometime and spend time in the Commercial district as there were so many up and coming shops, eateries, and outdoor fresco businesses. To address other review concerns, I was never woken up by trains, even though I did hear a train when awake. If that is a concern, be sure to pick the room facing the street. I would suggest to get blackout curtains as the streetlights are pretty bright and do align shining in the room and where you sleep. I would definitely stay here again! Support local owners!!

Love the Location

I think this place is wonderful! Compared to the plethora of other hotels out there there are many things this place is not, but I spend a lot of time travelling and after a while all hotels just kind of seem the same regardless of what you spent. This hotel is not the same! It’s perfectly unique and different! It’s in an interesting neighbourhood and it will definitely be my go to place to stay when in town.!

Great location and huge rooms! 👏 very easy to check in and out. Lotw of ammenities in the rooms (like a large apartment rather than small hotel room). Right off the strip for food and only 5 mins from the downtown square by car. Train yard right outside so some idle baclground train noise at times but no horns thankfully.

We arrived at this Historic District hotel on a Sunday early evening, and was a little taken aback at the eerily empty streets. It was like a ghost town. The buildings were charming though, and there were a few restaurants/bars still open for dinner. This boutique hotel was surprisingly charming… our particular room was large with a separate sitting area and kitchentte… the room also had an interesting view from the bedroom window that show-cased the stunnng sunset. The premises was super clean. The only negative is that if you arrive after 3 PM, you can only enter the building via a code to open door…. which they failed to text to us earlier. Had to make a phone call which resulted in an answering machine. I was about to call Expedia to cancel, when I got a very friendly call-back from a young woman telling me the door code and where our keys were located. Even though we had a rough start, we really loved this hotel. The area is very walkable with interestimg shops. Too bad we arrived on a Sunday afternoon and had to leave early the next morning. Would’ve loved to have shopped the stores and tried the unique eating places on this historic street.

The rooms are nice and it’s a great change from a typical hotel. It’s great proximity to some things you could walk to. But the rail yard behind the building is a deal breaker. I slept poorly due to all the noise. The front door needs some work for better security.

Loved our stay! The best cup of coffee I've ever had was the pour over in our room & I've had A LOT of coffee! Absolutely delicious. The coffee shop that is connected is so cute, drinks are great and very friendly service. So many dining options within walking distance. My only negative comment would be the sky light above the bed. We were up before 6. It was SO bright. I love the natural light, but maybe there would be a way to filter the sunlight in the morning. An automatic shade?🤔 A great stay & I would highly recommend!
