Hotel Aurum Firenze

Ideally located to Santa Maria Novella train station, but didn’t hear any train traffic. I gave it a negative review as the bathroom stank of dampness that permeated into the bedroom as soon as you opened the bathroom door. Tiny shower, thank goodness I’m small. We asked the front desk on 3 occasions to fix the bathroom and was assured each time it was. I’m sure they just used air freshener to try to mask the odour. We were told they couldn’t move us as they were booked out. Average buffet breakfast, but they do a good picnic breakfast upon request, to take with you, if you’re leaving early for an outing. Nil tea and coffee facilities available in the room.

The room (303) was clean but small. The bed was comfortable, the air conditioning was great and the shower (though tight) had good hot water. Location was near the train station and a short walk to everything. Breakfast was amazing, with everything you can expect in a US hotel and more. Staff was helpful and stored our bags for a few hours after check out.

The location of this hotel is splendid. Just a few walk to SM Novella Train Station and very close to downtown

Good location within walking distance to all the sights. Good choice of restaurants ok. Room very cramped but clean. Breakfast is very basic with limited choice. Staff friendly.
