Met some of the best people during my stay here. The room is very spacious and clean. Carpets are very new. The bathrooms are a little dimly-lighted but very well cleaned— no stains or hair in the female bathroom (I see staff cleaning all the time and linens being changed). Everything is very new and there are individual charging sockets & lights (with USB chargers) next to each bed which is always helpful. Communal area is very cozy and I met friends there. Nice books as well for some light reading. Very secure as you need a key card to access all floors/ rooms here. Felt very safe as a solo traveler. The location is great— really close to the railway (2 mins walk) and bus station which is perfect for a day tour that I joined. Nice bars and restaurants around. Note that you could hear people outside at night if they’re talking loudly (but again the location is very convenient). Lovely stay here. Thank you to the amazing staff here.

The rooms are accessible through stairs on the first floor. Reception and kitchen on the second floor. For check ins, keys need to be collected from the Black Isle bar which is 100m away from the hostel. I was in a mixed dorm of 4. Female restrooms can be better maintained. I'm thankful for the staff to let me check in without making payment the first night because there were some issues with my credit card.

2nd time i stay and rhe same like first time, other guests who stayed are very noisy on the corridors, also when they come inside the room or leaving, all of them totally careless. In yhe kitchen even there are signs , they don't follow, left light on, dirty crockery, as well inside the living room and inside the bathrooms. The last time i came Saturda31/05/25, i called in advanced i will check-in 10 pm, nobody at the reception, so i need to call the emergency number to go out to collect my key fob from nearby pub

if you were in rooms under maybe 15 you got to be on the bar side which is cool and has a secret garden. I was not, so just on the regular side. the lounge was good and social, but the kitchen was small and had no oven, just a couple of hot plates. the bathrooms felt like you needed jandals to use the showers but otherwise all good. the number they put up to call if you needed to drop off luggage didn't work until. you tried without the area code which locals might know but tourists didn't, but figured it out

Having bunkbeds next to the door in the room is stupid. If you put rubber strips on the inside of doors then people wouldnt hear constant doors banging. Going into a busy bar disabled was intimadating for a non drinker to collect key card. Also after telling you i am disabled you still put me on the top bunk .I couldnt climb up the four steps to the bed. Thankfully a customer swapped beds with me.

Met some of the best people during my stay here. The room is very spacious and clean. Carpets are very new. I’m not sure how this place ever got an 8/10! Only 1 of the 4 toilets in the women’s rest room worked and you had to flush it 3-4 times. At least 2 of the bathroom sinks clogged (slow drain). The showers had no where to put your items while showering, no seats or shelves in the bathroom. All of the doors in the entire place were super heavy and shut very fast, so you could hear doors slamming late at night. The bins under the bed only worked if no one was laying on the bottom bunk. You couldn’t pull out your bin. The mattresses were very hard and uncomfortable. I do not recommend this place until they make some upgrades. It was cheap, so you get what you pay for.

I am a female travelling solo and was in a room with 5 other make snoring men. They said they'd look after my bags but then got called away from the desk for 2 hours. I wasn't comfortable leaving my stuff unattended. Bathrooms and shower area was gender specific which was nice. My bed too and bottom was very creepy so everytime either myself or guy on the top bunk moved...it was very loud. There was no ventilation so we kept the window open which meant the screaming seagulls and alley arguments also woke me up. Staff were very friendly. I had been in another Hostel and had a much better experience on my stay.

The hostel was in a great location and the price was great, however it took me by surprise that the 6 bed rooms were coed with both sexes. I did not like that fact, nor all the stairs that had to be climbed. Not the best option for older travelers.

2nd time i stay and rhe same like first time, other guests who stayed are very noisy on the corridors, also when they come inside the room or leaving, all of them totally careless. In yhe kitchen even there are signs , they don't follow, left light on, dirty crockery, as well inside the living room and inside the bathrooms. The last time i came Saturda31/05/25, i called in advanced i will check-in 10 pm, nobody at the reception, so i need to call the emergency number to go out to collect my key fob from nearby pub

Having bunkbeds next to the door in the room is stupid. If you put rubber strips on the inside of doors then people wouldnt hear constant doors banging. Going into a busy bar disabled was intimadating for a non drinker to collect key card. Also after telling you i am disabled you still put me on the top bunk .I couldnt climb up the four steps to the bed. Thankfully a customer swapped beds with me.

Met some of the best people during my stay here. The room is very spacious and clean. Carpets are very new. The bathrooms are a little dimly-lighted but very well cleaned— no stains or hair in the female bathroom (I see staff cleaning all the time and linens being changed). Everything is very new and there are individual charging sockets & lights (with USB chargers) next to each bed which is always helpful. Communal area is very cozy and I met friends there. Nice books as well for some light reading. Very secure as you need a key card to access all floors/ rooms here. Felt very safe as a solo traveler. The location is great— really close to the railway (2 mins walk) and bus station which is perfect for a day tour that I joined. Nice bars and restaurants around. The hostel was in a great location and the price was great, however it took me by surprise that the 6 bed rooms were coed with both sexes. I did not like that fact, nor all the stairs that had to be climbed. Not the best option for older travelers.

This was a fantastic hostel for a quick trip to Inverness. It's right next to the train and bus station and a quick walk to any major things to do/see around the city. Staff are friendly, facilities are very clean and secure. Highly recommend to anyone looking for an affordable place to stay!

if you were in rooms under maybe 15 you got to be on the bar side which is cool and has a secret garden. I was not, so just on the regular side. the lounge was good and social, but the kitchen was small and had no oven, just a couple of hot plates. the bathrooms felt like you needed jandals to use the showers but otherwise all good. the number they put up to call if you needed to drop off luggage didn't work until. you tried without the area code which locals might know but tourists didn't, but figured it out

Booked this as a basic stopover for the Loch Ness Marathon. In easy walking distance of the event village and very close to shops, bars, etc in town. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Location was clean and had sufficient amenities in my view - drying room very useful after the marathon! Only downside was bunk beds metal and quite noisy but I always take earplugs on such a trip. Would stay again.
