Was greeted at reception with a smile, but the lady didn’t speak much, didn't advise what the hotel has to offer. No extra information, she couldn’t be bothered to be honest. I didn’t feel welcome. The parking facility is absolutely tiny and was a hassle as I have a ghost in my car so wasn’t prepared to give the code and this caused issues in moving the car. The valeting men were lovely didn’t catch the man’s name though. Housekeeping didn’t change the sheets which had tea stain so this was extremely disappointing. Would I go back? Nope other hotels nearby which offer better customer service- one where you are not treated differently. Is it worth £530 for two nights, Definently not. Disappointed.

Always a brilliant stay. Upgraded to a suite and the extra space a complimentary mini bar was brilliant. Used the valet parking this time which again, very convenient and a brilliant service all round.

Fabulous hotel with staff who fully understand customer service and look after you so well. Super smart and stylish we loved everything about our stay. Valet parking is quite a lot at £40 but it made our stay so easy and stress free. The Concierge team who park your car are wonderful and the restaurant and bar staff are wonderful. Highly recommend.

Checked in for 2 nights, realised the body lotion was the leftover from previous guest, asked reception the next late afternoon, got told would be sent up but 3 hrs later still not, had to come down to ask again (the housekeeper line doesn’t work) and the room doesn’t get vacuumed during the daily housekeeping. Everything else is more than perfect.

We have stayed at the Dakota numerous times and class it as one of our favourite hotels in Manchester Although this time was suprisingly poor, the mattress on our bed was very different. Normally they are the comfiest mattresses but this time it felt like the mattresses have been changed and not for the better. It had no support and was also sloping towards the headboard which seemed really strange. The shower head would not stay in place it continuously twisted towards the back wall meaning you had to hold it straight The make up mirror on the desk did not work or charge, they did come and change it later in the evening but this was already too late for when my partner needed it. The service is normally amazing but this time we found ourselves waiting for long periods before anyone would come an take our order for drinks or food, all together when paying the amounts the Dakota charges and expecting everything to be spot on we were left a little disappointed

I have stayed in a lot of four and five star hotels in Manchester and this was my first time at this hotel. I would say I had a good stay overall however, I had to book an extra night onto my original booking so I had two reservations under the same name. I called twice prior, told them at check in and was told each time there were notes on the system and it wasn’t a problem. A call came through to my room at 11:50am to say I had missed my 11am check out. I had to explain again and I felt there was a lack of apology or acknowledgment in the call making me feel like I had overstayed my welcome. Aside from this, the bed was comfortable and room was clean and stylish. There is low lighting throughout the hotel and vibe continues throughout the bedrooms and bathrooms so not great for make up application. I also found it strange that there were no dressing gowns available in this type of hotel. I would stay again but would book a different room type.

Lovely hotel, great location. Lovely area. Extremely clean. We stayed in the basic room but it was large, bathroom was huge and view was good. Bar was fantastic, fabulous staff. Athstetic of the hotel was nice, overall would definitely stay again.

We loved our stay at Dakota Manchester. From the moment we checked in the staff were friendly, accommodating, polite, and professional. We upgraded to a garden king room and we were so pleased with the decor, often hotels can look dated or a little tired but this was absolutely not the case here. A coffee machine with fresh milk, white company toiletries, enough hangers (I hate when you only get 5 hangers for 2 people!) and more. The bed was comfortable and the extra pillows arrived quickly as requested. Quiet room so we didn’t hear anything from other guests or outside which is rare for such a central hotel. 15 min taxi to Victoria station and 10 min walk to Picadilly station so very very good location. We couldn’t fault it! We will definitely be returning!

Reception staff were lovely, just what I needed after a long flight. Kind and helpful :) The room was very nice and I had the best sleep - the bed was amazing. Garden rooms are worth it to step outside of your room. The weather for me was bad but there is an electric awning should you need to be covered ! Nice touch as you never really know what weather you will get in Manchester ;-)

Everything was great but the check-in experience ruined it for me. I had driven 3.5hrs to Dakota as a female solo traveller. I was exhausted & expected staff at reception to be as inviting and as kind as the doorman was but I was very wrong. A white ginger male was at the front desk & he was condescending, sarcastic, rude, patronising & entirely unpleasant. He did not tell me where the elevator was nor where my bags were or what was going to happen with them. I had to ask about where breakfast would be held & he spoke over everything I was saying & was being extremely patronising. I had to call my husband in the middle of his own business trip to make his way to me because or how uncomfortable this man made me feel. I am an outwardly dressed Muslim woman & I do strongly believe this ginger male receptionist treated me the way he did because of a racial and religious bias. To treat a guest who is paying a premium price for a premium experience is abhorrent.

Never had to complain about this hotel in 5 years but I’m very disappointed. The restaurant and bar service was very poor. There were at least 8 staff on between the two areas and they were all busy socialising with each other rather than seeing to customers who needed their help. Room service was non existent I had to make three phone calls over an hour to get some water. Even had to go to the bar myself in the afternoon to get drinks as reception never answered the phone. There was no instruction for the room service number in the room either. I had to phone from external to eventually get served later at night after being ignored twice. Appalling service. There seemed to be no effective management of the hotel at all. However, the concierge and daytime reception staff were excellent.

Fantastic hotel. When we checked in and we mentioned it was my wife’s birthday they upgraded us to a suite, which was amazing!! One of the nicest rooms I’ve ever stayed in. All staff were incredibly friendly, I’ll definitely be staying here again

What an amazing hotel. 3rd time in a Dakota and will keep coming back. Guest relations - Diamond in particular - went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Gorgeous room (we went for a superior) with separate bath and shower. Luxe toiletries. Lovely hotel bar. Ducie St Warehouse is nearby - good brunch spot. About a 15 min walk to Selfridges. Highly recommend.

We had a fantastic stay at Dakota Manchester. Staff at reception were welcoming and efficient. We chose to upgrade and so we had a canal side view and a separate bath and shower. The room is so carefully appointed with lovely touches like wool blankets/ throws , led magnified mirror for make up, 2 full length mirrors. Its very conveniently near the train station but quiet enough. The bar was buzzing both times we visited.

Lovely room. Bathroom nice and big! Convenient location as a short walk to the City centre, Chinatown etc. It’s also near to the Ashton Canal. It’s a beautiful walk along this canal.

We are regular visitors to Manchester, and we have stayed in most of the local good-quality Hotels. Although this hotel is new and offers good service standards, I found a few things lacking, to be honest. The bed was very comfortable. There was no fridge in the room, I find this amazing for a 5-star hotel. The room service menu becomes very limited from 10 pm too. There was football on the evening our of visit, you would think that with this in mind, the restaurants would open a little later? Unfortunately, they all closed at 9.30. Coupled with the fact the room service menu becomes limited, we were forced to eat outside of the Hotel. The drinks at the bar were very expensive too. I know you can expect this at any hotel, but these prices are next level, especially when the service charge is added to all drinks in the bar. I won't be rushing back. On a positive note, the decor was nice and the room was very comfortable.

Absolutely amazing stay. We've been here a few times now and it is the only hotel we will stay in when visiting Manchester. The beds are the comfiest with the finest bedding. Jennifer in the Dakota Bar & Grill was wonderful and really looked after us. The steak was phenomenal, juicy and flavourful.

Shocking, borderline rude reception in the restaurant. Poor staff in the restaurant. 10-15 minute wait for coffee after dinner. A broken nxpresso machine was given as the excuse for the delay and very poor quality coffee they eventually delivered. Had to complain to the night manager.
