Hotel Montreal Metropolitan, an Ascend Collection Hotel

The hotel is no longer the same. Cold water. Elevator doesn’t work, I had to take the suitcase on the stairs to my room. Last visit

The hotel parking lot is under a highway overpass, and our car got broken into a bit before 10pm. Fortunately people in the parking lot called the police. Police told us that thieves would be back for the car and the hotel does not have a locked garage so we had to leave and drive the whole night back home. We called the hotel about this and they said car theft is a problem in the area - of course they don't advertise this. They said they would send us some voucher for compensation but never followed up. We sent them an email to complain and they never followed up. Terrible service, just don't count on the manager if there's an issue.

There is no pool facility. The rest is fine.

Parking was very convenient, could use lighting for night time. The first room had a dirty toilet which was addressed to the cleaners and all they did was use a towel that they were randomly carrying to wipe it without any disinfectant. After having to change rooms twice, the room we ended up with was missing hangers and a main garbage bin. The breakfast food looked alot better than it tasted. The dining room needs some fresh updating and should not connect to a private room. Complimentary toiletries consistes of two shampoos and two conditioners but no lotion. The gym had no yoga mat, the equipment was in fairly good order. There was nothing to clean to gym equipment with and there is no general privacy because the gym is right off the elevator. Hotel lists having a pool but there is no pool. Staff were friendly and helpful.

I park my car in there designated parking area when I come back in the morning the sunroof of my car is already broken totally wrecked (vandalism/theft) As per the staff they will not be liable as it is outside there hotel. Police were also not taking action regarding the incident I have to drive with my sunroof broken going to the police station to file a report. Very terrible experience feels like Montreal is not safe anymore.

Gym had integral pieces which were broken and the floor in the room is lifted and torn in a few spots

Parking was across the street so very inconvenient and unsafe. Otherwise a good hotel for the money. The breakfast was good as well.

Staff was very friendly. Parking was under an overpass and looked as though homeless slept there.It supposedly had a nightly security guard. Breakfast was horrible. Room was fine, it was on fifth floor and door to roof was unlocked. Took 1/2 hr to get to old Montreal via car. Wouldn't stay again.

La chambre était sale et quand j’ai demandé une femme de ménage pour nettoyer le sol , le réceptionniste m’a dit que la femme de ménage passera dans 3jours alors que la chambre est déjà sale

Hotel is next to the highway so it was always noisy. I found hair strands around the tv. The hotel looked old too. It wasn’t a bad stay. I guess you get what you pay for. The room was just ok

Breakfast was great, with a buffet-style setup and a different protein option each day. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Our first room had a very strong cleaning product smell, so we had to request a change. The in-room coffee cups were a bit inconvenient since the lids didn’t fit properly, making it impossible to take coffee to go. The hallways often looked messy, which gave a poor impression. During our 3-night stay, fresh towels were never provided automatically—we always had to ask for them.

if you want to stay in a dirty room with NO cleaning staff this is the place to go no new towels no changed bedsheets they say it’s 1 time every 3 days how nasty is that not even a water bottle in the room a horrible breakfest that looks like it comes from the hospital horrible experience

The property had bed bugs in the pillows and sheets, my husband woke up with bites on the back of his neck and we saw them in the sheets and on the walls. the room carpet smelt terrible like moisture or wet carpet smell. We spoke to the manager and he told us someone would contact us in the next 24 hours to talk about our stay and to compensate us back, it has been a week and no one contacted us.

I stayed one night at the Montreal Metropolitan Hotel. The room was super clean, modern, and way more spacious than I expected. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was Ok. I’d stay here again.

A good value for the price, nice staff and breakfast. Our car is OK in the parking lot. Only thing is the bathroom is not fully cleaned, still has used bar in the both tub and clay mask on the faceut

The air conditioning unit is very noisy. The hotel is located next to a busy freeway and not a great area to walk around. Two areas of the carpet are lifted and not secured down. The room itself was very large.

It was updated. Lobby was nice, rooms nice. They should try and tidy up tv cables. They are exposed. That looks tacky. Other then that pretty good. Strange they have closet with no hangers. And no bathroom fan.

Nice and clean room. We stayed during F1 weekend so pricey. Room was large but my biggest complaint was having to use a portable a/c that needed to run all night to keep the room cool. Very noisy. Took a while to get bedding and pillows for the sofa bed. Staff was friendly though. I didn’t love the location. 8 minute walk to Metro.

They should improve their customer service. I had a charge on my credit card and I sent email for get explanation about it, but until today not get any answer.

I drove all the way since early morning and arrived hotel at about 2pm. Front desk won’t let me check in until earliest 3:30pm even though I’m so exhausted. He did not offer any alternate services or trying to find an earliest available room. It’s a Monday afternoon the hotel looks empty. Still, no rooms. The only thing he said was there is nothing I can do and then leave me alone and scrolled on his computer. This is not the kind of service I expected from a hotel. There are a lot of things you can do for guests.

We only stayed one night, but it was perfect for our needs. Room was spacious and comfortable, breakfast was good quality, staff was friendly and helpful.

I got this hotel instead of staying with a friend because i wasnt feeling well and wanted to have a goodnight sleep. Big mistake. At 1 am we were woken up from the laughing, shouting, and thumping, from a group of people in the room next to us. After 10 minutes od the noise not subsiding, I called down to the front desk twice with no answer.At this point i walked down to the lobby and told security. Security was apologetic and called them. They began getting noisy again an hour later, this time with groups of guys also traveling between rooms and leaving their room doors open I called security again. Security talked to them. It was quiet for a couple hours. This happened 2 more times over the course of the next few hours. Security told me they would call the police. Evidently not because the next morning at 8 am the guy was at it again. By 10am they had a group of guys in the room singing in chorus. It seemed like they were a sports group. I recounted my story to management the next morning. They said they would take down my information and someone would contact me after my stay was over. They said the same when i checked out 2 days later. It has been a week and nothing. The room was fairly clean when i arrived. I gave a poor score because they only clean rooms every 3 days

The property looked recently renovated and the bed itself was very comfortable. The receptionist was very nice and honored my CAA card discount. However, you have to cross a very busy three lane street to a very sketchy parking lot. Also, it took way to long to reset a blown fuse. I had to get ready in the dark as there was no power in the bathroom.

Great stay! Everything was clean, comfortable and the staff was very friendly. 10/10, would definitely come back.

Hard to cross the road to get to the parking lot because it’s a busy ramp to the autoroute. We were 5 sleeping in a room that accommodates 6, we were given 3 towels. We asked for more and they didn’t have. The pull out didn’t have any blankets, only a flat sheet. I had to ask for it and they didn’t have, they gave me extra flat sheets to cover myself with. There was no bath mat in the bathroom. Staff were kind, but they don’t have what they need to run the place at busy capacity.

I had a wonderful experience here in June 2025 traveling with my two young children. The location is not the greatest (20-30 minutes with traffic to most of the "touristy" spots in Montreal) but the room itself was spacious, quiet and comfortable. Free parking across the street underneath the highway is a nice perk. However, if you drive a Honda or Toyota I'd recommend NOT parking it here - car theft of certain models is rampant in Montreal. (I have a Volkswagen so had no problems).

Un bel hôtel, situé directement à coté du Métropolitain. Facile d'accès mais un environnement extérieur un peu bruillant et plein de béton.

Chambre propre et spacieuse, ça a été très agréable de séjourner dans cet hôtel, plaisant et calme. Le personnel est très sympathique. Petit plus pour le petit déjeuné compris. Le métro le plus proche est à 10 minutes à pied, pas grand chose à voir autour mais ça se fait bien. Un parking est disponible en face de l’hôtel. Je n’y ai séjourné qu’une nuit mais j’aurais bien prolongé. Merci pour votre accueil

It is close to 40 and easy to get to places for food or shopping

It was a convenient location for me for the event I was attending, although for most visits to Montreal it wouldn't be a great location. Convenient parking, easy to get in and out, although the parking lot is a bit dirty under the highway. Breakfast was mediocre. The room was excellent. The buffet dinner was very good. Suite with a full kitchen was nice to have, but the kitchen should be stocked with plates and cutlery, etc.

L’hôtel est très bien situé, on est proche de presque tout dans la ville. Pour ma part, la chambre que j’avais était bruyante, le réfrigérateur est placé trop proche du lit. De plus on entendait presque tout de l’extérieur et ça dérange énormément le sommeil. Pour le reste c’était bien, l’accueil, le personnel était sympathique ! C’est un bon petit hôtel dans un petit quartier et le rapport qualité prix correspond. Je le recommande ! Merci !

Great hotel, efficient check-in process, plenty of parking spots across the street, and the best part was breakfast had roast beef!

It's a new hotel in a very old building. The soundproofing leaves something to be desired. You can hear the neighbors, their alarm, and their TV. It's generally clean. The breakfast isn't very varied but is still very good.

Room was a good size, bed comfortable, nice fridge, and variety of hard/soft pillows. The breakfast was great, as well a really neat walk out to the rooftop. Negatives, bedroom bathroom door would not lock, bathroom sink stopper got stuck, and immedtiately when we had to go out, we found the safe would not open, and took staff a while to figure out. Overall very nice looking renovations, friendly, nice breakfast, but has minor faults... good Value!

Breakfast served with expired food items ( ketchup). When pointed out to the front desk they said it is not there issue, talk to restaurant. When showed the expired product to restaurant people, the lady behind the counter became very rude to us and hide the bottle immediately and denied existence of any expired item.

This hotel offered the worst breakfast I ever had , and also they advertised they have bar and Hotel and it was closed all week in summer ! I think they are lying about this !

Breakfast food was awful. BathRoom kinda smelled. Other than that, it was fine:)

The breakfast was bland, the same food for everyday. There were no varieties.
