We had a great overnight stay in this beautiful hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. Fab cocktails in Sterling cocktail bar downstairs. We hope to return.

A beautiful building tucked away in the middle of Manchester, sensitively restored and stylishly converted. Incredibly welcoming helpful friendly staff. A beautiful room where they had thought of everything. A shame the restaurant is not currently open as that is the most magnificent room.

The service was excellent and all staff were very professional and attentive. We paid quite a lot over the usual rate for this room due to The Eagles playing in Manchester so it’s hard to say it was good value for money, especially as it didn’t include breakfast and there is currently no restaurant. However the quality of the hotel is fantastic and location is brilliant for everything in the centre and it feels very luxurious.

The stay was amazing. The room was incredible. The staff were so polite. Sterling Bar was a wonderful experience with tasty, extra special, cocktails, enjoyed with a truly talented pianist performing in the background - just magical! It was a perfect stay. The best hotel in Manchester.

Great hotel just a shame about parking but the walk did us good after the Cocktails in Sterlings 😂

Excellent stay, from start to finsih the service was impeccable, the downstairs bar was very good, rooms are a good size and showers amazing, the Breackfast is the best I have had in Manchester.

Wonderful hotel in probably the most ideal location in the city center. Walkable to shops, restaurants and entertainment and felt comfortable day and night there. The room was very elegant, comfortable and cozy. Shower is amazing, bath tub as well! Overall a very attentive staff and comfortable stay. Also the bar in the basement is amazing!

First trip to manchester, Probably wouldnt be excited about having to park a car here. great location in the city center

Lovely hotel, staff were great particularly Immy! Lovely glass of champagne and a cake on check in. Will definitely return. Downsides were the meal we had booked had been cancelled due to the restaurant closing. And whilst the Sterling bar was lovely inside, the choice of glasses was disappointing, when I order a gin that costs £14 I expect to have it served in a gin glass, when I order a whisky for even more I expect it served in a whisky glass. I even get this luxury in a Wetherspoons! But to be in the Sterling, both served in a tumbler that my water was also served in, not a good look. The glasses in my bedroom were better. This wouldn’t put us off returning but for a high end bar charging high end prices this definitely let it down.

Everything about this hotel is amazing. The staff are very professional and friendly. The hotel check in is unique and a lovely touch been given a glass of bubbly on arrival. Everything was done in a relaxed and refined way. My luggage for myself and my son been taken to our rooms for us. The room was amazing with everything being spotlessly clean and the room smelt so fresh and clean. It was beautifully furnished. The mini bar was well stocked and i had fresh milk in the fridge. The bed was so comfy and the room did not have any other noise around so i slept well. All areas of the hotel are beautiful, and the bar area was lovely. We had pre dinner drinks and they were lovely. The breakfast was served hot and was fresh to order, nothing was too much trouble . I would say that the stock exchange hotel has exceeded all my expectations. I will certainly stay here again

A lovely warm welcome by the staff accompanied by a glass of champagne. Luggage was in our room promptly and the Sterling Bar service very attentive. Immaculate condition and beautiful modern sophisticated decor. Would definitely recommend and stay again

The hotel is faultless. Clean, room lovely, bar beautiful (perhaps pricey but drinks great and from check in to check out the team were so helpful. We will definitely stay again.

Broken tiles and grout missing in the shower, silicone seals looked untidy and dirty. Open tiles into door frames Pipe work filling up from 06:30. A great hotel with simple but stand out sipmple floors.

This hotel is beautiful, with excellent service from all the staff. The welcome drink on arrival was a thoughtful touch. However, being shown to our room felt a bit unnecessary since all the rooms are clearly numbered, which made the experience slightly awkward. The breakfast options and quality were outstanding, and both the hotel and our room were spotless. The bathroom, in particular, was amazing—probably the best shower we’ve ever had. The bed was very comfortable, although we didn’t care for the TV positioned at the foot of it. There seemed to be a way to lower the TV, but it appeared broken. We informed reception, but unfortunately, didn’t receive any follow-up. The only reason for losing one star is due to the minibar and snacks in the room. For a 5-star hotel, these should be included, especially given the cost. I’ve stayed in other 5-star hotels, and even Holiday Inns, where minibars were complimentary, so it felt a bit stingy not to have that here. Aside from this, everything else was perfect.

Amazing customer service from Deepak and Nigel at the concierge, very knowledgeable and the communication throughout was first class. Our room was immaculate, the beds are so comfy and also has a pop up Smart TV at the end of the bed. Breakfast is in a lovely setting and was very nice. All in all another great stay and would highly recommend.

Poorly designed room & bathroom. Shower leaked all over floor. No shaver point.

Lovely city centre hotel. Wouldn’t normally stay in Manchester as it is close to home but it was a special occasion and wanted to treat my partner. She loved the experience, comfy beds and lovely bathroom, she wants to stay again.

Tiny rooms, dark not much storage

Very nice hotel in a very good location, nice and close to everything. Bathroom was huge and nicely done, nice to have a sofa and chairs to sit on and not just the bed. Only disappointing thing was the tv which was obviously design to go into the end of bed didn’t move so felt rather imposing when not being used.

The hotel feels opulent, entering through a fresh flower display into a beautifully scented lobby. The staff were amazing, taking me to the lounge for a welcome drink while they completed check in. Even though it was before noon I was checked in promptly and off to my room (thanks Hotel.com gold status). The room was extremely spacious and well appointed, bed was amazingly comfy, wardrobes and cabinets were beautifully made. Bed side USB charges were welcome but why the socket at the desk didn’t have one seems like a miss. The interactive TV promised great things with a streaming services (Netflix, NOW, YouTube etc) built in - none of them worked unfortunately. And the bathroom door was so narrow I have to go in sideways. :-). Around midnight guests returning to the hotel were very loud in the corridor, slamming doors and from the room above. It’s didn’t last long but along with street noise from 6 am - the sound insulation could be better! Breakfast was lovely, I pre booked, on arrival I was given an a l’a crate. I selected items that amounted to £13.50 (plus service), wasn’t presented with a bill for review at the table nor at checkout and was charged £22. So just pay at the table and don’t pre book. It really is a glorious hotel and in a stunning building. I do recommend and add the negatives purely as feedback and reference. I would definitely stay again.

Our overall experience was underwhelming and disappointing despite some good features. The worst was the set of very bright external lights on the hotel wall directly below our bedroom window. The lights stayed on all night and since there was no blackout night a good night’s sleep was therefore impossible. When we mentioned this at checkout we were astonished to be told that it was ‘a known problem’. Quite why we were given the room given that the hotel appeared to be far from full was not explained. The offer of a complimentary tea or coffee and to make a note so we wouldn’t encounter the same problem next time (!) was farcical.

Amazing location with excellent service. Walking distance to many restaurants and bars. Only downside if there was one room temperature could not be maintained at a comfortable level.

No curtains, terrible sleep, way overpriced and so noisy outside couldn’t sleep at all

At 5.30 am this morning I was woken by workmen outside, with noise that persisted right up until 8am, so hardly had the relaxing nights sleep I though I’d have staying in this luxury hotel

Rooms are tiny. Double bed only. Amazing bathrooms. Rooms much smaller than photos show.

Was charged again for the room after check out by the hotel as they had my card on file for incidentals and decided to use my card to bill for the room a second time.

So this is a ‘go to’ hotel for me … or at least it was. Regrettably I’ve now had three occasions to complain about slow service at dinner and breakfast … and have had no feedback from the hotel. I’ve even written to the General Manager and been ignored. That’s a total lack of courtesy and guest concern and this is one guest who sadly will now start recommending other hotels. Such as shame as I love the place, but there’s no excuse for ignorance and lack of courtesy. Clearly guests matter less than they should.

What an AMAZING experience, not just a hotel stay. The staff is impeccable at their job and making you feel like a part of their family. Champagne upon arrival, stories of the old stock exchange, a what an amazing building it is. Thank you, Nigel for all you do!

Loved this hotel. Everyone could not have been nicer. Service was extraordinary. My wife and I forgot our passports and also cash in the safe. The hotel concierge sent everything via next day service to our hotel in London. We were so nervous about not getting our passports as we had to leave the country in a few days. Money and passports arrived the next day. They saved our vacation.

The service was impeccable. The staff were courteous and cared about my personal needs. They went above and beyond. The room was beautiful, the location perfect and the food is excellent.

Wonderful stay! From the moment you walk into the hotel, you feel so welcome. Check in was a delight as you were ushered into a lounge where they offered you a glass of champagne while the staff came to your seat to check you into the hotel. All the staff were well trained, accommodating and friendly. The service was excellent. The hotel had been beautifully restored and decorated. The room we stayed in was spacious and the bed was comfy. There was a little wait for our breakfast, but it was worth the wait. The food was outstanding, probably the best Full English breakfast we’ve had in a hotel. All in all, the hotel ticks all the boxes and we will definitely be returning.

I found the whole experience so strange. The service was very odd - the check-in process felt very clunky and not time efficient. The room wasn't up to my expectations and we ended up moving hotels because of this.

Really cool unique little boutique style hotel but has all the perks still of a 5 Star bigger hotel. The staff and service here is just fantastic. Very convenient walking distance to lots of great restaurants, shopping and cool places.

Spent a night at the conveniently located Stock Exchange. Walking distance from Piccadilly Station and all of the surrounding attractions; Arndale Centre, King Street, Deansgate, The Opera House, Selfridges etc. Elegant and quiet boutique hotel, glass of champagne on arrival, standard rooms were very nice, breakfast was delicious. Friendly and attentive service from the staff. Would recommend and looking forward to our next visit.

We had a fantastic stay here. The staff were amazing. The room was spacious and luxurious. The breakfast was out of this world. Loved how close we were to the town centre. I have nothing bad to say. Truly exceptional and we can’t wait to go back

Staff are very welcoming and constantly available. Bedrooms and public areas are very attractively presented. Breakfast had a great deal of choice and the quality of food and the service was excellent.
