The actual room was very clean and tidy. That said the chair at the desk in the room was broken at the base and the back sonjnable to be used. Yes there is free parking but it is very limited and restricted to about 8 small cars which is fine if listed in the ad and you know you will have to park on the street.. The staff however were friendly and helpful.

Once we found the hotel we had to drive around to find the entrance to the underground parking. Access is with room keycard. Very nice room, lots of space. Laundry down the hallway.

The security is the worst I’ve ever seen Door to street wide open all day.Stairs to upstairs right inside door before reservation desk People could enter and desk would never know Desk guy never at desk anyway room ok Fairly clean Sketchy neighborhood Bad parking situation.Elevator not working Washer dryer not working Can’t believe it’s a Best Western Don’t stay here

Upon our arrival we were greeted with friendly and warming hospitality. Check in went very smooth. It has undercover secured parking for us to parked our car free of charge. Location were great as there is Woolworths and fitness centre nearby.The room was super clean and also the bathroom. Highly recommend to stay here when your are visiting Christchurch

Facilities were all modern and clean, the carpets were very aged and stained, almost need replacing but overall was still clean. The drive into the carparking area was cluttered with bins and there was a door to an outside storage area tgat was unlatched and swinging into the drive. I had to get out and close it as it could have scraped my vehicle driving in. A very tight carpark but great that the vehicle was off the street.

Very good room (the first room allocated smelt of cigarette smoke but easy move to another room when requested). Getting the car into the car park was a little convoluted but straightforward once familiar with it.

Clean, recently refurbished, comfortable bed, quality bed linen, quiet in spite of being on a busy road. No noise detected from the bar downstairs which closes at 10pm. The manager is most helpful and welcoming. I received a call to advise that we had left a bag in our room before we noticed it missing. Much appreciated.

My room was lovely, comfy, clean and private. The only issue I had was the carpet in the building was dirty and stained. It made the place seem rough, even though it isn't. So if you stay here, don't worry - the carpet isn't reflective of the cleanliness of the rooms. I only briefly saw the staff but the interaction was lovely. Instructions to get in after hours was super clear and easy. I'd definitely stay here again.

Hotel Location is fine, a little bit out of the city area. Plenty of dining options close by and a supermarket across the road. Room is modern, with a small balcony area. Unfortunately our room smelt of cigarette smoke (most likely from someone smoking on the balcony with the door open. Car parking is down an alley (behind some restaurants) and the smell was horrible even in the parking garage. Room cleanliness was ok, not sure if the floor had been vacuumed or if the carpet was just stained. Overall stay was ok, but think you can do better for a similar price.

Looks can be deceiving.Images looked great, reality was different. Difficult to find the hotel entrance, drove up the “service lane” behind a row of Asian take aways with dustbins for company, thought I was teleported to Vietnam. That happens to be the entrance to the parking garage. Finally got to reception, complete with stained carpets. First impressions …… run, before the bed bugs mug you. Prepared for a bad experience, was too late to cancel so what else could I do. Opening the room door was a huge relief, a well set out room with all the necessities, biggest surprise was the modern en suite. Great shower and comfy bed are my non-negotiable, these were fantastic. Didn’t try the adjoining bar for food. Gotta work on the welcome as first impressions ….

Booked three King rooms. Two parties had spacious rooms and king beds. Ours was not spacious, nor a king bed. We spoke to Reception and were told that all rooms had king beds. We told him ours did not, and it clearly was not a king bed. The only other option for us was the spacious room with twin beds. We were charged the price of a king room and did not get it. Hard to even tell this is a hotel, really need to pay attention when you arrive. Is close to shopping, but really no dining options. Car park gate is down a sketchy alley past garbage and junk piled up. Car park is very tight.

Unusual location sitting over a bar, but it was clean inside and quiet with our room off the main street. Didnt hear a lot of noise either from downstairs or off the street. Garage entrance area is behind shops (mostly eating) and not the best look but we had no issues.

This property was well priced, great quality, convenient to the airport, had walkable distance food options but most importantly had a fantastic manager who was very helpful and went the extra mile to support us. I could not think of anything that I did not like.

I'm amazed at the good reviews written for this location. My experience was quite different. This hotel shares its front entrance with a dive bar and when I arrived there were impaired individuals in close proximity. Garage entrance is down a narrow back alley. Took several trips around the block to determine the hotel entrance was between a 7 day a week clinic and run down bar. When I checked on the room it was subpar at best. Location did not feel safe and asked if there were any other Best Westerns I could transfer my reservation to. Staff was not helpful and refused to help and I ended up paying for the room and reserving a room at a safer location. All the good reviews must have been by hotel staff. Beware.

I did not like anything- the place felt like it was one of those properties in an alleyway. It looked nothing like the pictures I saw online when I booked. The receptionist who was the only person we interacted with was horrible right from check-in to check-out. He was never hospitable or engaging. At checkout he accused us that they were missing a plate in the room- 2 minutes after we had left. We came back only for him to say oh it’s sorted. Never going back there of referring anyone. It was disappointing.

Booked three King rooms. Two parties had spacious rooms and king beds. Ours was not spacious, nor a king bed. We spoke to Reception and were told that all rooms had king beds. We told him ours did not, and it clearly was not a king bed. The only other option for us was the spacious room with twin beds. We were charged the price of a king room and did not get it. Hard to even tell this is a hotel, really need to pay attention when you arrive. Is close to shopping, but really no dining options. Unusual location sitting over a bar, but it was clean inside and quiet with our room off the main street. Didnt hear a lot of noise either from downstairs or off the street. Garage entrance area is behind shops (mostly eating) and not the best look but we had no issues.

Hotel Location is fine, a little bit out of the city area. Plenty of dining options close by and a supermarket across the road. Room is modern, with a small balcony area. Unfortunately our room smelt of cigarette smoke (most likely from someone smoking on the balcony with the door open. Car parking is down an alley (behind some restaurants) and the smell was horrible even in the parking garage. Room cleanliness was ok, not sure if the floor had been vacuumed or if the carpet was just stained. Overall stay was ok, but think you can do better for a similar price.

Opening the room door was a huge relief, a well set out room with all the necessities, biggest surprise was the modern en suite. Great shower and comfy bed are my non-negotiable, these were fantastic. Didn’t try the adjoining bar for food. Gotta work on the welcome as first impressions ….

This was a last minute “have to “ after plane returning to Christchurch. But it didn’t have the room service that was advertised on the wotif ad. Very inconvenient for trying to get breakfast etc. because had no coat or brolley.

I was very disappointed that the bar next door did not offer meals. The advertising said meals were available and were good. I would not have booked there if I knew we had to walk in the dark to find a place that served European food…my friend is 94…nearly all nearby restaurants were Asian. Not a good aspect to our stay.

Frankly when you arrive at this hotel your first thought might be that’s it’s not great. It’s on a busy road and has a very small entrance which is shared by a bar and grill. But inside this hotel is fabulous. Not huge rooms but very clean, had everything you need and beds are great. Service was also outstanding. We had breakfast included which also was huge and amazing. Enough for 2 meals! Strongly recommend.
