Lovely hotel, good location. The hotel has discounted parking at the Pepper Street NCP which is a 10-15 minute walk from the hotel, so make sure to utilise the drop off point when you are ve with your bags. Also note that Paper Street car park is the tightest car park I've ever been in. So if you're in a big car and are not confident in multi storeys, you might want to consider a different car park. Lovely staff on the front desk, super helpful. We had an accessable room which meant a huge bathroom. Water pressure was ok, nothing earth shattering, but happily the shower was nice and simple to use. The bed was perfect for me - I like a fairly form bed and often hotels have beds that are a bit soft for me, but his was perfect. The room was somewhat lacking in natural light as the room only had a small (non opening) top to bottom window that was almost totally frosted. I'd rather have a not so pretty view than no view at all. Toiletries were ok, but no shower gel. And the hairdryer was very weedy. Breakfast was good - we only had continental, but there was a decent choice. Nice bar area too, if you want to have a cocktail or a beer when you get back to the hotel on an evening. I would stay again

Lovely hotel and staff and would definitely stay again. My only issue was no onsite parking and the two suggested car parks to use was a fair walk away from the hotel. There is a drop off point at the hotel so this didn’t bother us too much.

Lovely hotel and really can’t fault it. Staff very helpful and friendly. Room very clean and comfortable and a variety of soft/hot drinks and snacks available at no extra cost. We didn’t have breakfast there so can’t comment on that. Ate in the restaurant one night and had a great meal - again staff very attentive and friendly. Close to the centre, shops and river. Only word of warning would be do not park at their recommended car park in Pepper Street, it’s a dreadful car park with tiny spaces and barely enough room to drive past the parked cars. We didn’t want to risk leaving our car there and it being damaged so we parked at Little Roodee car park about 15 minutes walk away which was really good. I told the reception staff that the hotel should not be recommending the car park as it’s so bad.

Good location for visiting Chester. The hotel was nice, clean and well-appointed. Just be aware there is no hotel parking and parking in Chester is generally a nightmare! The hotel recommended a city centre car park with a good discount but it’s a fair walk from the hotel and has tiny spaces, tight corners and needs knocking down But overall, I’d go again. It is not often that I feel compelled to leave a review but Hotel Indigo deserves the recognition. We stayed for two nights, a busy Saturday and a quieter Sunday. Checking in was easy, although car parking is some distance away and worth noting if walking is an issue. The room was lovely, beautifully presented and with free drinks and snacks complimentary. The bathroom was modern, spotless and the walk-in shower was huge. Breakfast both days was excellent with lots of choice. We had Sunday dinner and it was the most incredible roast either of us had ever eaten. We had drinks in the very pleasant bar area. What really makes this hotel stand out are the staff. It is really noticeable how good they all are. Every single one of them went over and beyond with their service, friendliness and attention to detail. Even watching the talented chefs clearing up after service was commendable. Thank you for a wonderful stay and thank you to the staff at Hotel Indigo, you do an amazing job.

The staff were lovely and could not do enough. The same can be said about the staff in the restaurant However we did pay for a high spec room which was not very clean there was dust under chairs and tools left in the bathroom. The room was not serviced until after 3 on the Saturday and then the bed was not made and floor was not cleaned properly. Very disappointed and this let down the hard work of other staff in the hotel. Plus sheets although clean were grey instead of white. We were unable to use the lovely balcony because of pigeon pooh everywhere including on chairs and tables which again was not cleaned by house keeping staff.

Fantastic hotel the staff are helpful and friendly it is beautifully decorated and comfortable I have stayed there a few times now and the service you receive is consistent I can’t praise the staff enough for their care of the guests. The only very minor issue I had was some dust on the floor of the wardrobe that I accidentally dropped my top onto and it got dusty. The breakfast is absolutely delicious especially the eggs Benedict. There is a plenty of choice and excellent service.

Generally speaking, everything was excellent. My only criticism would be the weight of the duvet in our bedroom which was extremely heavy and we also found the mattress to be quite hard. Fully appreciate that these aspects do come down to personal choice however neither of us got a particularly good nights sleepand that is my reason for giving comfort only three stars.

Good sized room and it was very clean. Balcony could do with a wash down as there is lots of pigeon droppings. Although to a certain extent it cant be helped. Lovely breakfast and helpful staff. Carpark is a short walk. We would stay again.

The hotel is in a good location with NCP parking nearby, the hotel itself is good however there was a lot of things that made it a disappointment, our room was opposite the stairs and lift, and while the doors are supposed to be soundproof we could hear people coming and going through the evening, night and early morning. The room coffee bags supplied are a terrible idea you have to put them In boiling water stirring for 3 to 4 minutes, this produces a below average tepid cup of coffee and that is if you take it black and absolutely cold with the refrigerated milk added, also the cans of water taste terrible and again who thought this was a good idea, there is quirky and being ridiculous. The food selection in the restaurant was poor especially if you are vegetarian or vegan, luckily Chester is full of top quality restaurants to eat at. Finally, we had to go and collect our own gowns and slippers from reception that should Have been supplied in the room. We have stayed in several hotel indigo hotels and this does appear to be in our opinion one of the worst!

A uniquely stylish hotel, great quality service, accommodation and location. Our room and bathroom was very clean, new ans hi-spec with an amazing luxurious shower, fittings and fixtures. The free room treats also a great touch. Comfortable and very clean. My only tiny gripe was no window. I do like a little fresh air but the AC was very effective. Wonderful 9/10 would stay again. The breakfast was very tasty, the service superb, Steve is a credit to the hotel breakfast staff, a friendly and expedient server. Thank you all!

One of the finest hotel stays we've ever had! We had a 4th floor room with a patio balcony and incredible views. The bathroom was amazing. A stocked mini bar. The lobby and restaurant were incredibly inviting. The location in Central Chester was great! Loved it!

The hotel and room were very good but the service was poor. Upon arrival we were left waiting to check in as 3 members of staff were chatting. Last night my fiancé and I returned from a wake we had been to and went to the hotel bar around 8.30pm. The tall thin young gentleman on the bar was so rude. As he approached us he looked at me and said “yes”. Not how are you, good evening, what would you like or even yes please. Upon ordering he dropped the payment machine in the bar, I tapped it and he picked it up without a please or thank you. This followed 5 minutes later when we ordered a bar snack of chips and bread. He brought the food out with no cutlery, no napkins and the garlic and rosemary mayo never appeared. We have stayed at your hotel before and enjoy the location but the service this time was poor. Brilliant hotel in Chester, close to main areas and the river walks. Lovely room & bathroom with a good shower. All the staff were super friendly and efficient. Breakfast was great with lots of choices. Highly recommended!

We had three nights at the hotel that were very comfortable and the staff were always very helpful. Breakfast was really good, brought to our table and piping hot! Steven was very friendly and the lady who was on duty those days. The only thing we had a problem with was that our room was not cleaned as we were not told by reception that we had to put out note on our door to say we wanted the room cleaning. Hotel in very good location and although did not have a car park, the nearest one on Pepper Street was not very far away. Will stay again here if we return to Chester!!

Stayed with my husband for a 2 day break in Chester ( this hotel was recommended by our son who stayed there a few weeks ago )As soon as we walked in were very nicely greeted . We were early so were offered to leave our case which we did .The last hotel we stayed at , we had to sit in our car until check in . The room was lovely and comfortable . Bathroom really nice . We had a few drinks in the bar and the bar staff were really nice . Made cocktails for me which weren’t listed . In all everyone was lovely and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay . Great hotel, great location, friendly helpful staff. Accommodated an early check in for us to get ready before the races. Rooms were lovely and clean and the bed and bedding was the comfiest ever. Had such a good sleep, which doesnt normally happen when i stay somewhere different. Will definitely stay again.

A poor experience. I was with colleagues working in chester so we tried to book a table in the restaurant at 7.30pm and was told ‘we can’t take any more bookings because we don’t have enough staff - its like this all the time and you should complain’. There were very few tables occupied??? In additionI left a beard trimmer, a jumper (inexpensive M&S approx £40) and a T-shirt (expensive Acne Studio approx £150) in my room. When i got home and realised, i rang the hotel who asked me where i had left things - i was very explicit and said ‘beard trimmer in bathroom next to sink, and items of clothing in wardrobe’. Reception said they would check with housekeeping. They called back and said nothing was left in the room and said perhaps housekeeping hadn’t seen the items or didn’t look in the bathroom or wardrobe. Not sure what they meant by this, because i would expect housekeeping to get the room ready for the next guest which typically means cleaning it and checking nothing has been left in the room. Very poor service. The staff in the restaurant actually asked me to make a formal complaint. The last time I left an item in a hotel (i travel for work a lot) the hotel contacted me amd then said they would ship the item to my home address - thats service.

Awful! We specifically asked for a quiet room, all was well until 1:30am when a rowdy group of drunk women had a party in the room next door. We politely complained, the woman on the front desk did ask the party to keep the noise down, but as soon as she was back in the lift the party resumed. We asked to be moved, were told no rooms were available, so having no option we left and drove home. I was promised the manager would telephone me as soon as they arrived at 7am - nothing by 9:30. So I called and the guy on the phone refused to put me through to the manager saying no one was in until Monday and they would e-mail me them. This has to be the worst experience I've ever had at a hotel, truly awful. The full on party was a disgrace and the manner in which it has (or rather hasn't been) dealt with is shocking. Impossible to believe this is a Hotel Indigo or an IHG linked hotel. Truly feel like never staying in any of these hotels again, I can only describe the experience as trying to sleep in a sleeping bag in the middle of a Weatherspoons whilst a hen night was in full swing.

Fantastic hotel the staff are helpful and friendly it is beautifully decorated and comfortable I have stayed there a few times now and the service you receive is consistent I can’t praise the staff enough for their care of the guests. The only very minor issue I had was some dust on the floor of the wardrobe that I accidentally dropped my top onto and it got dusty. The breakfast is absolutely delicious especially the eggs Benedict. There is a plenty of choice and excellent service.

Stayed in Chester for the weekend to watch our children take part in the marathon. Hotel is in a great location right next to a lovely park & near all the shops and sights. Bed was so comfy and the shower was amazing! They catered well for gluten free at breakfast although a gf sausage would have been nice (they are so readily available these days) The bacon etc was "help yourself" but people were using the same tongues to pick them out as the hash browns which weren't gf. Please be mindful of cross contamination. I just used my fork and it was all delicious. We hired a mobility scooter from Shopmobility and it had been delivered to the hotel before we arrived - so efficent and the lady on reception was really friendly & helpful throughout the stay. All in all a very enjoyable stay and we would definitely recommend the Hotel Indigo

The decor of the whole hotel was very good. We stayed in a racing themed room & the colour scheme and detailing was excellent. The public areas were comfortable and felt welcoming and cosy. The property was clean and the staff were very friendly and informative. The only downside was that there was no parking either on site or close by. However, the hotel was well positioned for access to the city centre and all of its features and attractions and the entrance to Grosvenor park & river were a hundred feet away at the bottom of the street. The breakfast was good with a decent selection of options. The hotel was quiet despite its city centre location & the bed was very comfortable and the room was spacious and had all necessary facilities.

Great weekend break. Ideally located for all the shops and local attractions like the amphitheatre and The Rows. Staff very friendly and room was comfortable. Great walk in shower in the bathroom. Hotel was great as were the staff. Breakfast was inedible unfortunately. A lot of people were sending their’s back too. But overall I would highly recommend the hotel and just steer clear of the “cooked to order items” on the breakfast!

Room was nice no view, bed very high and small for a king size. Free stuff in mini bar very nice and decor. Staff friendly and informative. Bar expensive and breakfast chaotic and had to ask for stuff to be refilled and for coffee and tea as it didn’t arrive. Also some Menu choices unavailable as now food deliveries.

What a wonderful hotel. From the moment we checked in to the time we left, every staff member was extremely polite & professional. Would highly recommend staying here & The Forge restaurant was fantastic! Thanks to all at the hotel.

Nice accommodation. Delicious dinner at The Forge restaurant. Breakfast not so much - eggs, tomatoes and mushrooms in English breakfast were undercooked and cold. Parking wasn’t easy and not cheap- no validation. Nice hotel but overpriced for the value.

Disappointed due to the room having conjoining doors to the next room, didn’t feel private. Could hear other guests talking and walking past the door, which made us feel uncomfortable when settling down to sleep. However, with earplugs and eye masks we managed okay. Hotel had a lovely aesthetic and decor throughout. Beds were comfy. Breakfast was great.
