I was told that if we spent money at the property, ie.. restaurant and bar, our destination fee would be refunded. That was not the case. $25 per day per room plus $1.63 taxes on that fee!! We spent $126.00 the first day at the rooftop restaurant and they would only reimburse $25 for one room and I had paid for 2rooms. And you have to spend $25 dollars, specifically assigned to each room each day?!? Which was not clear in their policy.

Nice enough place well located steps to downtown. Room was clean and nice w comfy bed. Room lacked bureau for clothing storage. Bathroom and shower nice but you may want to do something about slippery shower floor. My big grip is the mandatory $45/night valet parking.

Very close to the main shopping area. Valet parking is $40 per day. But we used a nearby parking lot for $20 a day. 5 minutes walk to hotel. Rooms are quite new and clean. Lighting design is modern/fancy in the guest rooms, but not adequate lighting in my opinion.

Gorgeous hotel!! But our room was not cleaned properly upon arrival. Floor had not been vacuumed or mopped. We reported it to front desk and it was immediately cleaned.

Nice smart feeling hotel, comfortable bed, free coffee every morning in the foyer. Unfortunately room service kept ‘forgetting’ to service our room. Reception apologised for this but still did not fix the issue so rubbish accumulating in the bin and no fresh towels or toilet rolls during our stay etc. disappointed as a result which was a shame because everything else was fine

We enjoyed the comfortable room and the well darkened shades. The bathroom was nice…could have used a little extra clean but in good shape. Our issue was…we were in room 252. And right outside that zone of rooms is a workspace, van/truck drop off, recycling, trash, etc. SO starting at 6:30. Hotel Doors slamming, car/van/truck doors slamming. Bins being thrown into the trash and recycling. Compactors and other machines running. So not very restful. Unless you like being up with the birds on vacation.

Paid for a harbor view and all I could see was a parking lot and a gigantic pile of salt . 40 dollars a day for the shady valet when you guys have a giant empty lot ? I know because I paid for a harbor view that should have said “Empty lot view “

The room was supposed to be a king bed it was a queen which they consider a king.The heat in the room was insufficient. We have stayed there 6 times prior never stay there again. We travel a lot very disappointed with the accommodations there.

Very modern and clean Attentive and helpful staff Delicious breakfast (at cost, but includes buffet and special menu) The reason for my rating is simple. The AC is set to ultra ECO mode and shuts off when you sleep. I don't know about you, but I can't sleep if it's 77 in the room. I won't stay there again.

Staff was not very friendly. Basically rude when we checked in. We stayed for two nights understand they might not change the bed linens but never restocked the in room coffee or the towels. I booked two rooms one for a family member they told them breakfast was included but did not tell us.

What a fantastic weekend we had at the AC Hotel by Marriott Portsmouth. From check-in to check-out, the entire staff did a great job helping us feel welcomed. Would Highly recommend this spot to stay!

Your front desk staff is as rude , unprofessional and not welcoming . If I hadn’t stayed there before I would never come back . I also waited out front in my car for valet for 20 mins and no one came out to greet me .

This was a beautiful hotel with a fun rooftop dining experience! Things to consider before you book though: parking is $40 a day and there is a $25 mandatory spend charge each day on top of the standard room rate and taxes. The staff were friendly and location was great. I just wish those extra fees were in the standard rate to begin with. It became a very expensive stay quickly.

Went to Portsmouth for a show at the Music Hall and stayed a few nights. Located in the waterfront district and Walkable to several restaurants and local shops. As for service, the tv needed a reboot when we arrived. Less than 10 minutes from calling the front desk to watching tv. Very friendly too.

The Hotel is located in a great location close to all shops and water front.Very clean , and modern , great staff . The rooftop restaurant was great , food was terrific new flavors and styles. Great drinks. Pillows need some reviewing.

Parking was great but expensive. Worth the price for the convenience. Just wish it was a little cheaper. Lost 1out of 3 nights sleep due to guests in next room partying. Finally placed call to front desk and someone did come up but by the time they all settled down we were wide awake and too agitated to sleep. $18 breakfast in the kitchen??? We went in, got a table, and checked out what was left of the buffet. Most dishes were empty. The quiches were cold, no oatmeal, one croissant that 3 people wanted, no plates. We literally were so looking forward to this but ended up leaving.

This hotel was awesome! Its perfect for a weekend trip. The vallet david, and jenny were really nice and the bartender max was pleasant and very helpful. I do wish parking wasn't so expensive. The lounge and roodtop food are both amazing. I love the AC branches but portsmouth AC really is awesome! Can't wait to stay again.

Property in good location easy to book and check out. Only thing that’s disappointing was food really no food for a dinner unless you want a hamburger or cheese platter breakfast the same no eggs and bacon type breakfast. Would choose hotel with dining next time!
