Great location - a short walk to Monastiraki Square and all the shopping and nearby restaurants. Rooms are comfortable, and breakfast service and staff are excellent. Unfortunately, no evening dining or bar facilities, but there are so many in the area that it really doesn’t matter!

The stay at the Editor was overall good There were several pleasant surprises on the amenities and the personnel that made our stay very pleasant. The remake of a commercial entity into a hotel has a certain charm but comes with handicaps such as the slowest elevator that people must use even to get to the lobby bathroom It is a great way to stay at one of the most busy areas of Athens It is precisely that it is a busy area that makes staying there challenging. Lots of crowds bars etc and the noise persists to the late hours of the night and in our case could be heard in our first floor room until 3 am I would consider staying there again

We had an amazing stay at The Editor. Extremely central to Plaika, Acropolis and historic sites, Syntagma Square, all the shopping areas, restaurants. Metro station for the airport a three minute walk. The staff were friendly and helpful. Only downside was not having a bar to relax in in the evenings.

I don’t know how the standards are in Athens, but this doesn’t reflect a normal 4 star. The hotel pictures shown are much nicer than the reality. I think it looks a bit worn down in general with some cosmetic “fixes”… The restaurant is only open for breakfast. Breakfast had a large selection but quite standard. Staff was friendly and welcoming. The bar wasn’t nearly open. The worst was the lack of isolation. Very thin windows and also the door into the hallway. You could hear people coming in and out all night long. The location was good. The street where it’s placed ain’t the nicest one, but you are walking distance to many restaurants and main attractions. We got an executive room. Good in size. The sleeping sofa was super thin, basically for 2 smaller children else impossible to sleep there… The staff was very nice. The room had a funny smell to drains/kloak… It was ok clean. You could see some hairs in the bathroom area that weren’t ours… but general ok. The shower was partially blocked. We asked them to clean it but it didn’t happen. So you had a pool on your feet every time. Maybe it’s all over Athens but no toilet paper into the toilet, had to be placed into a quite small bin which was cleaned once a day… we came in February and can’t imagine how it would be/smell on a hot day in summer… In general I wouldn’t come back to this hotel. But many hotels in the area looked quite worn down from the outside.

First of all very good location. Everywhere is walking distance. The staff was friendly. Hotel and the rooms were clean. Room was big and nice. Breakfast was good. There was a smoking area for those like me that doesnt want to smoke on the street. One bad thing was the elevator. It was really scary. It always felt like you can fall anytime. Sometimes the door wouldnt close and the elevator was just jumping. Also the tv was really hard to use and not many channels (that work at least) but I didnt mind that

It did not feel like a 4 star hotel as listed on most websites. We arrived at night & the street was small & noisy & full of graffiti. The lobby area was small too with only one clerk who was busy so had to wait a while to be checked in. On one occasion, the elevator was not working so had to use the stairs. Carpets were dirty & stained. No view at all. Breakfast buffet was minimal though made to order eggs etc were available. Breakfast was understaffed too but staff was good. Rooms were spacious (junior suite) & clean. Staff was courteous & helpful. Location was convenient but given the condition of the street, I would not recommend this hotel. Our friends were charged for bottles of water they did not use which left a bad taste in the mouth at check -out.

I liked that there was so many shops and restaurants nearby, however I hated that the keycard weren’t working at times and that there was lack luster of entertainment/ and things(no vending machine/, ice machine, not many trash cans, or seats in the halls)in the hotel.

Locatie van het hotel is top! Direct in het centrum en alles op wandelafstand. We willen ook zeker Nancy de Manager en de Chef bedanken voor de goede zorgen en voor het lekkere ontbijt dat hij heeft klaargemaakt. Jammer genoeg zijn de foto's die je ziet online niet te vergelijken met de staat van het hotel. Netheid is niet goed, onder het bed ligt er zoveel stof alsook wordt er algemeen niet goed gepoetst. Dat is zeer jammer. Het hotel is geopend in 2019 maar door Covid is dit nog maar hun 2e seizoen, als je dan kijkt naar hoe de kamers eruit zien maak ik me zorgen voor de volgende jaren. De witte muren zouden opnieuw geschilderd moeten worden. We hadden een standaard kamer geboekt, maar zijn later veranderd naar een suite, door mijn zwangerschap. In de standaard kamer was er bijvoorbeeld een weegschaal en een vergroot spiegel in de badkamer, maar in de suite was dit niet meer aanwezig. Onze douche liep niet goed door, maar housekeeping heeft hier niets aangedaan. Jammer. Op de foto's zie je iedereen in toffe outfit, maar in realiteit draagt er niemand een uniform, waardoor je niet goed weet wie er van het hotel is. Het hotel heeft geen extra faciliteiten, zoals bar/restaurant, fitness noch zwembad. De medewerkers van het ontbijt zijn vriendelijk maar zeer traag.

Great location for walking to the various sites, and the hotel is tucked into a side street so it was surprisingly quiet for such a busy area. Low on frills, but perfect if you're looking for a reasonably priced, decent quality place walkable to practically everything. Very close to Monastiraki station, but we ended up walking everywhere. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Great stay - staff were friendly and helpful although communication was not always clear around for example the availability of twin beds. Breakfast was great and rooms were very clean and well provisioned.

The only good thing about this hotel was the location. The room smelled like either smoke or mold or some combination. The hotel was not willing to do anything about. It was very humid in the room so everything felt sticky. There was hair in the shower that was not ours! The sofa bed my son slept on was very flimsy. Breakfast was subpar as well. The pictures are misleading by looking clean and modern. I would say you’re better off take a taxi from a hotel outside of monistiraki/plaka area.

Location superb. In the heart of Athens, all sights walkable. Spotlessly clean. Great breakfast. Friendly helpful staff both at the reception and the breakfast restaurant. Minor issue, bed too low and a bit soft. Wife had issue in that there is no mirror when drying her hair. But overall great hotel find. Recommend!

The Editor is sadly a bit run down now. The bed is comfy enough but the linen is not very nice, quite old, there are marks all over the walls and it wasn’t very clean at all. The breakfast was fine but not a buffet at all, as advertised, the location is good but I sadly wouldn’t be staying here again, it absolutely isn’t worth it for the price for me.

A great hotel right downtown. BUT because it’s downtown you should expect lots of steeet noise. Bars go until 6am on the weekend and you can hear the music in our room. Additionally, the doors / walls aren’t that soundproof so you really can hear your neighbours if they’re kinda noisy. Overall a good boutique hotel.

Really don't agree with this hotel having a 4 star rating. Not sure how they even got that. The room is nice but a very cold stark design. Even my 13yo son mentioned that the room seemed cold and stark. The hallways are like you're in a bad office building. Stark white walls with bad cheap carpet. Breakfast was ok. Never a doorman or porter to help open the door or assist with anything. I saw a guy one night who sat in a chair staring at his phone. Back two hrs later, he's in the same spot. One front desk person was warm but everyone else seemed disinterested. The area is good for shopping but also very busy. Overall I was disappointed because my expectation was a 4star hotel as advertised and it definitely fell short of that in every way. Luckily I got a good rate on the room or I would have been extremely unhappy. Hospitality lacking greatly, warmth of hotel in general 2 out 5. You also are not able to turn temp below 20C! Hotel was in an excellent location and staff were really nice and bed was very comfortable but the hotel felt much more basic than I expected. There was no soundproofing whatsoever and when anyone walked past our room or even moved/talked in the next room you could hear absolutely everything. Even heard next door showering. Take into account people coming in at varying times of the night/morning needless to say it wasn’t a restful stay even with earplugs!

I like that it’s near to shopping and many dining options. I don’t like the noises coming from the street, people screaming at early hours. The bathroom does not have privacy because there is no door. Not good if traveling with friends.

Much smaller hotel than expected. Room was a decent size. Staff was friendly but A/C kept stopping so we had a difficult time sleeping. Also TV randomly turned on several time during the night. By the time they fixed it we were checking out. Location was great.

The hotel is close to a fun part of athens filled with tons of restaurants. The room was huge and really nice but you could hear people outside and in the hallways really easily. The only thing we didn't like was that you couldn't flush the toilet paper (it's because athens has old pipes) but our previous hotel let us, so that took some getting used to and we were glad we only stayed one night. Everything else was great!

The hotel room was excellent, very roomy and clean. The front desk needs to hire more help. They were very busy and only had one person trying to check several people in and out at the same time.

Staff were not accommodating when told the shower knob was broken. We were told a tech would be up to fix it. Never was fixed. Staff were treating other guests with special care and attention. Our maid was excellent and kept our room clean

I am writing to express our disappointment with the service during our stay. Two couples arrived on Wednesday and requested an early check-in, as mentioned in our prior email. The receptionist said she would notify us if a room became available, but we received no communication. After several hours waiting outside, we found the rooms were ready. We then requested a late check-out due to our flight and because my partner, who is pregnant, needed rest before traveling. The receptionist told us to return on Friday. When we did, we were asked to come back on Saturday. On Saturday morning, after explaining the situation, the receptionist told us to return at 11:00 AM. When we did, we were informed the late check-out would cost 50 euros. This seemed excessively high, especially since the room cost 100 euros for the night, and we only needed a few extra hours. Additionally, we noticed there were rooms available, and it was frustrating to deal with the delays rather than receiving a clear solution upfront. Perfect location close to everything but on a quiet street away from the noise and traffic. The staff was excellent, they received our lost luggage and held it for us until we arrive and was super helpful in providing services including arranging a massage for me. The housekeeping was on point always at the ready to keep the room in top shape. Just fantastic stay.

The remake of a commercial entity into a hotel has a certain charm but comes with handicaps such as the slowest elevator that people must use even to get to the lobby bathroom It is a great way to stay at one of the most busy areas of Athens It is precisely that it is a busy area that makes staying there challenging. Lots of crowds bars etc and the noise persists to the late hours of the night and in our case could be heard in our first floor room until 3 am I would consider staying there again

It did not feel like a 4 star hotel as listed on most websites. We arrived at night & the street was small & noisy & full of graffiti. The lobby area was small too with only one clerk who was busy so had to wait a while to be checked in. On one occasion, the elevator was not working so had to use the stairs. Carpets were dirty & stained. No view at all. Breakfast buffet was minimal though made to order eggs etc were available. Breakfast was understaffed too but staff was good. Rooms were spacious (junior suite) & clean. Staff was courteous & helpful. Location was convenient but given the condition of the street, I would not recommend this hotel. Our friends were charged for bottles of water they did not use which left a bad taste in the mouth at check -out.

Great location for walking to the various sites, and the hotel is tucked into a side street so it was surprisingly quiet for such a busy area. Low on frills, but perfect if you're looking for a reasonably priced, decent quality place walkable to practically everything. Very close to Monastiraki station, but we ended up walking everywhere. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Location superb. In the heart of Athens, all sights walkable. Spotlessly clean. Great breakfast. Friendly helpful staff both at the reception and the breakfast restaurant. Minor issue, bed too low and a bit soft. Wife had issue in that there is no mirror when drying her hair. But overall great hotel find. Recommend!

A great walkable location in the liveliest part of Athens. Standout breakfast at the roof terrace with first-class table service and friendly, motivated staff. A special word to the management for handling changes without fuss and to the super-helpful reception staff. Rooms are mainly quiet, ask for an upper floor or at the rear.

Very clean rooms, great bathroom essential products, staff was great. You can hear people walking in the hallways very easily though and there were often people very loud around 4am each night we were there.
