Nice upscale hotel. Cons: Weird setup. The door to the room opened into the bathroom, and then the bedroom passed that with a noisy sliding door for separation. The toilet was closed off in a small space in the bathroom with another noisy smoke glass sliding door that did little to keep extra smelly smells contained and an automatic light that lit up the whole room when you went to the bathroom in the middle of the night. There was also no refrigerator. It did have a vinyl record player, but... I'd rather have a place to keep my drinks cold. The view was okay, but I've had better views for less in Chicago and other big cities. PROs: The bedroom and bed were comfortable, and the service was excellent. The fitness center, pool, and bars on the top and bottom floor were really nice. The poolside bar was open air with an amazing view.

Great vibe, walkable to UT locations (dorms, apartments, restaurants), easy parking (valet or self park), nice dining & a fabulous roof top bar. Only down side was only two very slow elevators, but it was fine bc it was a very busy move-in and sorority bid day weekend!

Loved the room, enjoyed playing the vinyl on the record player and had excellent service with very friendly staff! Also loved the pool on the rooftop-enjoyed the wonderful view and great vibes for our sunset cocktails and light bites! excellent Ahi tuna tostadas.We will return!

Nice updated boutique hotel with a unique vinyl record player in each guestroom. All the staff were friendly, hallways quiet. Beautiful view of Austin from the rooftop pool & bar area.... only drawback was the odd entrance through the bathroom area for the guestrooms.

I loved the idea of this hotel! The vinyl records were really cool. And the front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Beds were clean and comfortable. My biggest complaint was the pool. It was…gross. Hair and bugs floating in it and it was cloudy. I forced myself to get in and quickly got out. It did not seem to have been skimmed for….a while. The weekend was the worst. Early in the week appeared better but I chose not to get in anyway. Disappointing because the pool pics were the main reason I booked that hotel. The bathroom was disappointing. Water got everywhere. I had towels down everywhere that would get soppy after a shower. I later discovered they have special mats to keep that from happening but for whatever reason I had to ask for them. Also, there was no where to put your stuff. No shelves. Not even a towel rack. Poorly planned. I put in an order for vinyl. What a cool idea! But they weren’t waiting in the room as advertised. It took an extra day to get the records. Maybe the vinyl guy was on vacation. So… it was cute and fun. But I’ll try somewhere else next time.

Divine greeted us in a positive friendly manner when we checked. Melanie was very sweet when she took and served our breakfast order. Room service was quick and respectful. Gym and pool are clean.

The hotel was lovely - all the employees were friendly (even offered free donuts that were still warm!) and the hotel was clean. The highlight was how comfortable the room was from the linens, the pillows, the mattress, the blackout curtains, to the steady ac. It was the the best night of sleep I’ve had in a hotel. I would go back just for the good sleep.

I loved staying at The Otis Hotel Austin, Autograph Collection. The staff at the hotel was so attentive and friendly and they made our stay extra special. The hotel facility was also clean, and it smelled so good inside. My friend and I actually ended up purchasing the scent they spritz at the hotel because it was that good! I also loved that there was a record player in each room, and we were able to check-out records to bring to our room to play. All in all, we had an amazing experience, and I am likely to book my stay at this hotel again the next time I visit Austin. The hotel rooftop bar, Otopia, was also very nice, and the bartenders were so kind. The views were also a plus.

Cool boutique feel, nice rooms, great restaurant/pool/bars. Our room was not quiet, could hear a constant hammering sound late at night. Doubt it was construction at that time. Towel bar was missing a screw and kept falling off the wall. The expresso machine leaked water everywhere. The record player in the rooms is a fun touch. But no mini-fridges in room? No way a supposedly upscale hotel should be trying to get you to buy a $6 bottle of water in your room. They give you one free 12 oz bottle each day? Ridiculous, it should be 4 or at least 2. That might cost them $.50 tops to do that.

The oddest layout of a hotel room that I have ever seen. The door opened onto the bathroom. Opposite of the door was a shower with a completely clear glass door. Also, no vending machines

Friendly staff and the record player is an amazing touch. People kept talking about the restroom at the entrance. When you walk in to your room, you are technically in the main restroom and visibility to shower so plan for that if you’re staying with a family member. I enjoyed the stay and will be back again.

Our over all experience was good. However, when we arrived at 6pm to check in, they said our room wasn’t ready and we would have to wait an hour. How can that be? Check in is 4pm. If we had been there at 4pm, would we’ve of had to wait 3 hours. None the less the room was nice. On check out day, 11am, I asked if we could extend our check out until noon or so. And they said “no”. That up set me. I paid $500/night for this room. I would have expected them to be more accommodating. Also, on our 2nd day there, room maids (?), didn’t show up until 6pm. We had been out of the ALL DAY and they waited until we got back to clean the room? Very unacceptable.

This is an excellent place to stay! The staff is extremely welcoming. The entire hotel is clean and smells great! The rooms have all the accommodations one can need. The bar is exceptional and has a great variety of whiskeys. 10/10

This is the second visit to this rather pretentious establishment, where the loud music at the reception area and entrance, which is diruptive in the evenings, is still unnecessary. While the cleaning staff are friendly and do a great job, the reception personnel lack a degree of sincerity and appear robotic. With such "modern" establishments, the condition will soon age, but it currently seems to please the most superficial of customers, where money and expense is not an issue. Regarding the cost - we found it over-priced, and based on this second visit, still over-rated.

The front desk staff was very helpful and friendly, accommodating our request for a refrigerator and a bottle opener. They remembered my daughter was there for a swim meet and cheered her on every morning as we left for the pool. Acre 41 had excellent food and the staff was very friendly. The rooftop pool and bar was very relaxing with a beautiful view of the city.

Fantastic stay at The Otis. Such an ideal location in downtown right by the university campus. The rooftop bar has quite a view and delicious cocktails. The restaurant at the hotel - Acre 41 - is a must visit. All of the dishes ordered by our party were excellent. We booked a King room with a view, which is recommended. Very comfortable bed and great shower. The staff is also very friendly and helpful.

When I scheduled the stay, I was offered an option to prepay for breakfast. This seemed convenient so i chose to do so. However when we arrived at the hotel to check in at 9:30 at night, we were handed a voucher to ise for room service and told that it had to be used in the next 30 minutes as the kitchen was closing. I informed them that I purchased the prepaid breakfast and was told that it could not be ised on the day of checkout. So for a 1 night stay, i was robbed of my prepaid breakfast. I will be requesting a refund. Aside from that the hotel was nice. But I feel like they scammed me so I will not be returning.
