Hampton by Hilton Leeds City Centre

As my husband has mobility issues, we chose the hotel because it served food. It wasn't until we arrived that we noticed a sign on the bar saying there were technical issues and therefore the kitchen was closed for the evening. We weren't made aware of this by staff on check-in. When we asked reception about this, they said that they had no maintenance staff on to fix the problem, but the kitchen would definitely be available for breakfast the next day. I asked for a discount, but was told no. The staff did say that there was a chinese restaurant next door. We were also surprised that as a disabled driver and blue badge holder, we had to pay the full car parking amount. On checking out, when I mentioned the kitchen closure to them, they say it was probably due to staff shortages.

Everything was great apart from the parking it is very expensive I know it is in the city centre but parking not even that much in London

Had a nice room and it’s good how there is a place to put ur luggage and breakfast every morning plus a good gym on the first floor!

Lots of parking in lot. However one way streets were not marked and very confusing

Staff were very good - checkin, cleaning rooms, dealing with problems. Problems: 1. At checkin charged £20 per day for parking. Advertised rate on Hotels.Com is £15 per night. Staff very apologetic but unable to change. Indicated that they have repeatedly requested change of cost to be displayed on web site - but that change is also outwith their control. 2. One of the lifts (there are 2 and it is a 12 story hotel) broke down day 1 of a 3 day stay. Still out of service when we checked out! 3. My wife likes a glass of rose wine - available day 1 but run out day 2 and not restocked by day 3. The choice of white wines started to be impacted and by the 3rd night the selection was down to 1. Again - staff were great, fielding the problems - but lift failures lasting 2 days, the bar running out of wine for over 2 days etc etc

Good location for the city centre, and the hotel is fine. However the pre-stay email states parking is £15. On check in was advised it's £20 and that it has been for nearly a year. Already very expensive but if you know what the price is then you have a choice. Not great for the staff because obviously I questioned it, and it's clearly not the first time they've had that conversation. Hilton - just update your email text and quote the right price please.

Was going to stay for 3 days for business however decided to check out early and go to a better hotel. Poor menu with 4 food items,poor gym, poor atmosphere

Stayed here several times. Walkable in a few mins to centre of leeds shopping resturants and bars. Hotel very clean and comfortable .

Room needs abit updating an carpets where dirty so but the room was over all ok for the price! The breakfast was lovely and so where the staff, very friendly staff and where always happy to help us! Good location as only a short walk into the city centre.

The room was fine for the price. Breakfast was limited and low quality. Breakfast room toilets always dirty. Staff helpful enough and good facility to leave luggage before/after checkin/out.

Not the best stay, toilet was broke with parts of it completely off the wall. We waited 2 days for the repair and were made to wait in the room whilst it was being repaired! Chewing gum stuck to the walls and freezing room. Also quite an uncomfortable bed.

We've stayed here twice in the past, both times in a lower level room which was fine. This time we were given the choice of high or low, so we chose high for a change. When we walked in the room, the first thing that hit us was the size, it was like walking into a ships cabin. The second thing that hit us was the dirty carpet & then the missing handle / lock on the bathroom door. After noticing these two issues immediately you can't help but wonder what else we would find wrong. We had a venue to go to & didn't have much time to waste, so rather than complaining immediately, we decided to put up with what we had. The bed was comfy & we had a peaceful sleep. The buffet breakfast was very nice & so was the coffe, also the kitchen staff were very friendly. When we checked out I made sure I mentioned the 2 defects to the reception staff, the first one replied that they knew about both issues & the bathroom handle / lock was to be re-fitted & the carpet cleaned at the end of the week, to which I replied when we were given a choice of high or low room, why were we not informed then? The response was just further apologies. Then the second receptionist stepped in & gave a different reason for the carpet, he said it was clean but was stained & they couldn't get the stain out because stain guard had not been applied to the carpet & it was due to be replaced the following week. All in all it was a pleasant stay just spoilt by defects which we should have been told about at check in.

Rooms are very clean, modern and with great showers! Staff cant do enough for you. Very close to the centre of Leeds for shopping.

The hotel was very clean and well maintained (opened in 2019). The free breakfast was excellent.This was my second visit in the last 2 months. Will stay again.

The hotel was ok, didn’t feel very Christmassy compared to other venues stayed at. Room was lovely and warm and comfy bed. Room was nice size for a twin. Cleaner did not top up the sanitary bags tho and this was empty when we arrived and I was not able to dispose of personal stuff properly due to this, the mirror in room was filthy with marks all over it. Other than that it was fine. Brew station needs better selection like couple fruit teas and maybe biscuits. Breakfast was ok, standard nothing special, stood at hot plate ten minutes before someone even realised there was no bacon or hash browns and by time they had brought some out what I had on my plate had gone cold. Wasn’t busy in there either and plenty free tables that was at 9am on a Sunday morning

Room was tiny, requested another room and was offered another which was a little larger but very little room to get in and out of the bad against the bathroom wall. There is a major design fault in so much as the bathroom door and s glass? So when someone gets up at night to use bathroom the whole room lights up waking whoever is in bed! Breakfast was a farce, nothing left at 9.10, waited for items to be filled up and gave up after 20 minutes and went to Wetherspoon. One little girl was told there was no waffle mix left at 9.10? Come on, it’s only eggs and flour

We booked a room for 4 adults and the bedroom was very small with one queen bed and one 3/4 sofa bed. The sofa bed was far too small for 2 adults to comfortably sleep in which was disappointing. Otherwise, the hotel was good for what we needed.

Very clean hotel, very handy for the concert we were attending at the Arena, 10 mins walk. The breakfast was very good and had plenty of good quality produce to chose from. The big issue is the queen size bed was not very comfy and the room had a big pillar and the gap from one side of the bed was only about 9inches to walk through, or squeeze through, my wife fell when trying to go to the toilet and fell into the gap. Next morning she was all bruised and had to take ibuprofen for pain. I moved the bed a little to make the gap slightly bigger but still awful. The room looks lovely but not that practical, the toilet door is also the wardrobe door etc. if you were a single the room would have been great, as long as you sleep on the right.

Excellent hotel, first visit and will definitely be back. Clean, spacious room. Shower was fab, hand soap, shower gel etc in bathroom smells amazing. Room had 4 usb ports and plenty of sockets. Bed was a bit creaky but also very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, plentiful and very clean. Staff very friendly everywhere in the hotel and very helpful.

Air conditioning for the rooms was broken. No fans available and couldn’t open the windows. I eventually gave up at 11pm and found somewhere else to stay which cost me more but on the hottest day of the year (so far) it was impossible to stay.

Fourth stay at Hampton by Hilton in Leeds and as with previous stays, it was a positive one. Reception staff at check-in are friendly, rooms are comfortable & clean and the complimentary breakfast is very nice with both continental & hot choices available. The only negative point, and I know from experience that this is something that we’ve also found in other hotels, is that you can’t open the windows in the rooms - I understand why the rooms are not fitted with opening windows but it would just be nice, in my opinion, to be able to open the windows, even if only by a smidgen!

Small, but clean room with very good bathroom and shower. Breakfast buffet offered reasonable choice.

It was great, the only downsides were the WiFi wasn’t working and I did notice the drinking glass in the room wasn’t fully clean

Thought staff were quite rude when entering the hotel as neither lady at the counter greeted me and I had to ask for their attention. I then got told I had to have a physical debit or credit card upon entry as a deposit which I was not informed of in and emails or via the website. They then did not treat me with any empathy or care (such as offering a glass of water or place to store my bags) as I had to wait in the lobby for half an hour for a family member to arrive with a card to use for the deposit.

The staff are superb. Couldn’t be more helpful. Came up in an emergency for son hospital stay and staff been awesome. Highly recommend. Room great. Shower hot and powerful. Breakfast complimentary. All good.

Check in staff very abrupt and not friendly. Had to wait about 30 minutes for breakfast things to come out even though it’s a buffet and the hash browns never came at all.

Check in was very slow. When we arrived there were five people behind the check in counter and one person being checked in. It took over 10 minutes for us to be checked in despite a small queue. The hotel looks quite dated and the rooms are a dull grey colour. Breakfast is pretty poor. The coffee is horrible. The cooked items are poor quality but at least warm. The waffle machine is good but there is no maple syrup available.

Arrived at 11pm 4 staff on Reception was ignore by all 4, there were no other customers in Receprion at the time. Not an ideal welcome

The duty manager, I think his name was miles, sorry I cant remember, but he was on duty on the saturday night, and he went above and beyond his role to make our stay very enjoyable. Thank you so much!

Extremely friendly staff. Spacious parking area. Really good complimentary breakfast. What's not to like :) I had a very comfortable stay, felt welcome, will definitely be my choice hotel next time I visit Leeds.

There were opportunities to train staff and improve front desk professionalism.

Unfortunately there was no breakfast at 6:20am prior to driving to work at 7. I was told the chef didn’t come in and the staff didn’t know what to do. A very poor contingency plan by a big business… When I checked out I asked who I complain to, and was told that there was nobody available! Not sure I will stay again without some compensation to cover me getting my own breakfast at Starbucks???

It’s a modern property. It seems that the staff maybe new and untrained. The elevator was intermittently out of service and but for the flashing notice no forms of apology from staff written otherwise. The weekend staff were not friendly or accommodating. Uber drivers coming to collect my group were rude Mable to exit and he property in a timely manner. Did not feel completely safe in the vicinity of the hotel property.

Room clean and comfortable. Breakfast beat expectations. Property a bit of a shady walk to restaurants.

Not bad for a city centre hotel and a convenient walk into the town. But immediately around the hotel is very run down and we did not feel safe after dark. One of thing about the room, the double bed is too close to the bathroom wall on one side but there is plenty of room at the other side. Fine for a single occupant but not great for two of us.

Unfortunately our The hotel is in a perfect location to get to the city centre or First Direct arena. Both are within walking distance.

Great location. 2 minutes walk to John Lewis’s and the amazing Victoria Quarters. Safe surroundings. Professional welcome and faultless customer service. The rooms were standard, clean and just what we needed. Good breakfast!

No mention at checking the "ovens" were not working, so when returned at 8.30pm on a Sunday looking for something t=from the 24/7 menu no food was available. Also no stock of beer in bar

A lovely hotel but needs some improvement with the breakfast service. Continuous waits for hot breakfast items

Evening snack and bar service a bit chaotic. Limited food available, staff appeared to be new, untrained as to bar service duties. Did not understand drink orders e.g. beer shandy. Took ages to get order correct.
