We had a great stay in a newly renovated top floor suite with a nice big private balcony. To be a 2-star hotel with reasonable rates we felt this was a bargain. Reception staff was lovely, and always helpful and with big smiles. The location is a bit dodgy, but the path between the hotel and the metro station is okay with other hotels. However, walking other directions out of the hotel was crowded with homeless people. We still felt safe, but learned quickly where not to go. It’s practical with the metro nearby, and there are nice restaurants and some shops in the area. Some suggestions that could elevate the stay: Refill of tea and tea-cups during the stay. Some glasses for drinking water. A mosquito net on the window. Better furniture in the big balcony, what about a sunbed? An extra tv in the sofa lounge area of the suite. But all this would maybe not make it a 2-star anymore. Just suggestions for improvement. We loved the hotel and our stay in Athens, and would book it again next time.

I give the staff 5+ stars! They were very friendly and very helpful. The hotel itself was old, the elevator was old school, and the neighborhood was a little shady. But I did love that I was able to walk to stores, restaurants and cafe bars with no problem. Overall, if you're ok with simple things and on a budget, this place is perfect. If you're high maintenance, then I would find another place.

Hotel was clean, air conditioning and a workint television were great. Staff were always pleasant to deal with. I have nothing bad to say about the hotel at all. However, the area it is in is truly disgusting. A lot of homeless people, gatbage, human feces and needles on the sidewalk.

The location is pretty convenient very close to the Metro, the area surrounding is a little run down but felt safe enough and the hotel room was really nice. Tiny lift though and so might be difficult with big luggage or big belly :) staff are super friendly and would stay again.

Sur le papier très bien mais quartier difficile, camp de toxicomanes à 500m donc faire attention. Déconseillé aux familles. Odeur d’égouts très présente dans la chambre. Chambre qui a l’air propre/récente mais nous avons trouvé un cafard soir le bureau. Salle de bain qui a l’air rénovée mais douche qui ne ferme pas et toilettes de travers, forte odeur d’égouts.

Zimmer und Badezimmer waren sauber, allerdings hat das Bad gemüffelt. Obwohl es frisch renoviert aussah, scheint es Feuchtigkeit in der Decke zu geben. Der Abfluss in der Dusche hat auch gestunken, hier hat nur fließendes Wasser geholfen. Die Lage des Hotels ist an sich gut, alles ist fußläufig erreichbar. Nach Einbruch der Dunkelheit lungern allerdings viele Obdachlose und Junkies auf der Straße rum. Es gibt diverse Kioske in der Nähe und einige gute Restaurants.

The hotel worked for sleeping, but I would not recommend or stay there again. The bathroom smelled atrocious, like sewage and sitting water. We couldn't get that smell to go away. The hotel room itself just seemed like it had a face lift, but it wasn't overly clean. The street on the right of the hotel is filled with homeless people doing drugs and other stuff... As two women walking around that area, I did not feel safe being out there after 10PM at night, it was loud, rowdy, and dirty, (and I live 10 minutes from Baltimore, Maryland). I wanted to like the hotel, but the smelly room and bathroom combined with the area around the property, I would not stay there.

It’s a good place to stay. Very convenient for getting around since it’s only about a block away from the subway station. The only issue I had was there is an escape room across the street that opens at night and you can hear people talking that are waiting in line. Also, that noise carries from the other floors through the marble staircase. But that’s more of an older person issue like myself, wouldn’t be a problem for someone younger.

Πολυ καλή και οικονομική διαμονή θα έλεγα.Η κοπέλα στην ρεσεψιον με ενημέρωσε για το δωμάτιο έκανε το τσεκιν άμεσα και με εδωσε δωμάτιο στις 10.30 το πρωί διοτι είχε ελεύθερο δωμάτιο.Το δωμάτιο ηταν καθαρο μικρό βεβαια αλλά πολύ καλό για μια βραδιά.Μου έδωσε δωμάτιο που κοίταζε προς τα πίσω και είχε ησυχία.Το πρωί βέβαια είχε θόρυβο διοτι κάνουν κα΄ποια εργα στο πίσω κτίριο αυτές τις ημέρες.Μπαλκόνο δεν έχουν αυτά τα δωάτια και το μπάνιο είναι πολύ μικρό αλλά εμένα δεν με ενδιέφερε.

Very friendly receptionist. We arrived very early in the morning, they cleanup the room that other people just check-out early and let us check-in right after. When we check-out early at 7am heading to Santorini the next day, The hotel also help us keep some of our luggages for us until we come back later to pickup. Excellent services👍👍

The property was clean, and the staff friendly, and fairly helpful obtaining things that should have been in the room (as per the Expedia listing). It was also conveniently placed less than 5 minutes from the Metro. The cleaner was efficient. The staff kindly held my luggage the last afternoon so I could get lunch after checking out. However, the room looked out over a building site, and will eventually look at a wall with no view. I guess single rooms are always the worst! There was a small, wobbly refrigerator and a kettle, but no coffee mug, or drinking glasses, only a single paper cup! I eventually got a wine glass and two very small glasses - no mug! The iron and ironing board were missing. At first they wanted to give me an iron with frayed flex, but eventually bought a cheap iron and table top ironing board which kept collapsing. There are no smoke alarms. There is no toilet in the reception area - when I needed one when returning for my luggage after checkout I was sent into the basement to use the staff one. The hotel is a lot more “basic” than I expected, and in a bit of a rundown area.

The Tier gives you access to so much of what Athens has to offer...the wonderful neighborhoods with awesome food and such. The historical sites, museum nearby. It is in a neighborhood going through rehabilitation so lots of work being done and not as well groomed as other parts of Athens--never mind! The hotel is wonderful. Will definitely stay at Hotel Tier if I get back to Athens!

The hotel itself was very clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. The area around is a bit dirty and unsafe. It is near a metro stop and shopping and dining only about a 15 minute walk

Lovely spacious room and great, friendly staff. It is close to one of the dodgier areas of Athens so don’t walk down Satovriandou Street if seeing groups of homeless, drug affected people bothers you. If you’re getting here via public transport go to Metaxiurgio station and walk that way - you’ll avoid seeing all that stuff plus it’s closer, don’t go to Omonia station walk that way or you’ll end up in the heart of the action!

Very convenient to access just 2-3 blocks walk from Athens metro. Well kept hotel but some shady characters at times on the property next to them. Very easy to find good ethnic Greek food walking distance and nestled in a middle class Greek quiet neighborhood

Hotel itself is exactly as advertised. Good, cheap accommodations. No complaints on stay. However, the hotel is beside a legit homeless encampment and lots of drug use around the property. If you're okay with that, the go for it!

The location is pretty convenient very close to the Metro, the area surrounding is a little run down but felt safe enough and the hotel room was really nice. Tiny lift though and so might be difficult with big luggage or big belly :) staff are super friendly and would stay again.

Metroya çok yakındı 100 metre cıvarı,Atina gezecekseniz kesinlikle araba kiralamamak , metroya yakın bir yer tercih etmek gerekir .Şehrin her bir yerine metro ile gidebiliyorsun. Müthiş temizdi,her gün degisim yapılıyordu. Butik Otel , Kahvaltısı yok. Çalısanları ilgili , yemek yeri ve gezi olarak sehri tanittilar. Atinada evsiz sayisi fazla ve otele giderken 50 metrelik kisimda evsizler vardı. Corner caffe pizza ucuz atistirmalk , Bakery factory hızli atistirmalik olarak ucuz ve guzel.

The hotel's location lets it down, with many homeless and drug addicts in the nearby streets. I was travelling solo, so felt I needed to be careful about coming and going from the property. That said, the location is central and close to public transport and the centre of Athens city. The staff were welcoming, informative and helpful, and while the rooms are a little tired, it was comfortable and good value for the price. I didn't have the breakfast, but it was included in the tariff.

I’d love to recommend this hotel. The staff are fantastic and the breakfast delicious. The value for money can’t be beaten and our room was large and clean (with AC). It’s an old fashioned “pension” style place. However, please don’t underestimate the reviews speaking of the neighbourhood. It’s really bad. We travel a lot and can honestly say we haven’t seen poverty, homelessness or open hard drug use on this scale before in Europe or North America. It was heartbreaking. We didn’t feel in physical danger but it was extremely sad and uncomfortable. We gave up walking anywhere and took cabs.

Pros: AC worked quite well. Room was ready when we arrived about half an hour before checkin. Cons: Other than that, the only other really good thing was the price. It’s in a bad neighborhood. Had a disposable paper cup holding the soap dispenser. Walls were not actually soundproof. The room came with a bottle of wine, but we had no cups to use with it and neither did the front desk.

The room was small, but for one night it was ok. I hade the one room on 6th floor. It was very clean. The bathroom was modern and nice. Aircondition working well. To improve it would be great with more lamps. It was only one lamp. The one in the ceiling. The lid on the bin in the bathroom was broken. Considering the price it was still comfortable and worthy and the staff was kind and helpful.
