We stayed two nights at the Moxy in a family room with a sofa bed. The room was okay and set up well for disabled. However, while it was quite spacious, the sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable and I ended up sleeping on the floor. The hotel offered us another room with the same setup (sofa bed the same) or a twin room. No apology or anything else. They were more concerned about being seen to be doing the right thing. The breakfast is super basic and the cooked parts (bacon, scrambled eggs, beans…) were below par. The gym was not great either - tiny and under resourced. Essentially, while Moxy is a ‘trendy’ place with the promise and price of luxury, it’s not so great and feels a bit superficial at times.

The Hotel is good clean rooms good food but if parking in the Hotel car park is a priory for you this won’t be the hotel for you as small car park and difficult to find a car park close by.

Rooms are very nice, plenty of charging points. Not much soundproofing though; I was woken up in the night by upstairs banging around. Bathroom is very small but has everything you need. Spacious room. Not much of a view. Downstairs is quirky and interesting - there's a pool table and comfy seating. Complimentary cocktail voucher on arrival and 24 hour bar

The car park was a little tricky. No signage so you’re unsure if it is Moxys car park. Also you’re encouraged to follow the QR code on the sign and pay there. Once you reach reception there’s a discount code which many customers had missed. Reception was great. Room amazing and well specced. Breakfast and dinner were brilliant as was service throughout.

The Moxy Plymouth is a very clean, quiet, modern hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Fun activities available in Bar Moxy, in addition to good food, wide assortment of drinks and a very convenient 24/7 grab and go for snacks. Breakfast was worth adding. Most comfortable beds of our whole trip so far!

The hotel was very fresh and clean. However as I’m allergic to animal hair and it was a dog friendly hotel this at times set off my allergy despite the hotel constantly being cleaned. The only other negative was the smell of “drains” resonating from the toilet.

Lovely modern clean hotel, perfect for exploring the city, rooms a little on the small side but fine for a short break. Would definitely stay again. The only slight negative there was that an event on in the foyer one night which was very busy & struggled to get access to & from the main entrance, especially guests with their suitcases & dogs. Reception never informed us so we were unaware of the times to avoid.

The hotel and accommodation were good. However, there are two factors that would question a future stay at this hotel. The first is the pain that it is to park here. PLEASE READ THE SMALL PRINT. This cost me a fine for the following day despite paying for what I thought was a 24hr period. The car park is also totally inadequate for the hotel. Secondly, check the cleanliness of the towels; not the ones that are left ready for use near the basin, but the 'clean' folded towels. Three of the four were stained or soiled. These are outsourced, but I expect clean towels at the very least. However, when the cleaning staff were approached they were very accommodating and apologetic and they replaced the towels immediately (after they checked them first)..

No parking and the air conditioning didnt work. It turned itself on randomly during the night. Woke up to it heating the room up to 30 degrees. Complained about it at 0230 and was told it was a known problem. I didnt get any sleep and had the worst headache in the morning. I feel awful now.

Great hotel with comfortable bed. Not a huge room and bathroom is small but adequate. Heating wasn't working though and was making a racket when on and blowing cold air. Maintenance took a look but couldn't fix it. Ended up with a small oil filled radiator which warmed the room fine.

Staff, bar area were great. The only problem I had was that the air con wasn’t working in our room and it was unbelievably hot! The window only opens a small amount and as the hotel is central ( which is a bonus), it was too noisy to leave open all night. Other than that we had a great stay.

A very new hotel with very polite and helpful staff. The rooms on the small size and a few issues like no hooks/rails to hang your towels. Also no real shelves or cupboards to put your clothes so you sort of live out your bag or put it on the floor which was frustrating. This may be the Moxy way!!! The location was great and once the car park is open it will be great.

The bathroom @ toilet are VERY small and cramped, Im only 5ft 7 small framed but I kept banging my elbows when showering. no room to swing a cat in it as they say. should of extended it into the wide bedroom space. Strange request asking for a £1 at checking when i already paid in full. car parking is expensive with a multi story 5 mins away much cheaper. No Decaf coffee

Painful late night checking, very poor communication between staff, attempted to take payment again for a pre paid booking, took 10 minutes at 11pm for the check in staff to concede the booking had already been paid for. Excellent stay as always. Staff are welcoming and go the extra mile to make sure you’re comfortable. Great place to work from, plenty of spaces, lots of power points in the hotel lobby. They have lovely coffee too! I didn’t eat here so can’t comment on the food

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at the Moxy And would highly recommend it as the staff are great really friendly and helpful can’t do enough for you, the rooms are really comfortable and clean

The hotel is really funky in design and looks great inside but was lacking in staff which was the biggest issue. We booked a suite room which turned out to be an accessible room which we don't need but were told that all suites are accessible which is strange and we ended up downgrading and losing money due to this. Staff shortages were apparent and we and many other waited a long time to get served a drink later in the evening and breakfast the next morning was even worse with no milk, bread or cooked breakfast items available with minimal staffing. Such a shame cause the hotel has a really good location and had a good vibe just needed to have more staff about.

We had a couple of issues mainly around breakfast. We were charged twice and then we queried it and were told that”we had a breakfast and just didn’t want to pay for it”, by a member of the staff who at the time was being supervised by the duty manager. He was asked by the duty manager and myself to allow her to deal with the matter. It then escalated to the member of staff coming out from the desk and up into my chest as if to square up to me and was very threatening. I said I was thinking of calling police to which he then said he was calling them first on me, which he then did. I’d love management of the Moxy Hotel or Hotels.com to get in contact with me to investigate this incident as we would never expect to be treated this way and hope you will endeavour to make sure this person does not get away with treating returning guests or any person like we were treated. The manager and staff member refused to give me any way of identifying them, I asked for names which were refused, even guest names. They also would not provide me with any worker ID. I expecting police to be chasing us for absolutely nothing :-o

This is an amazing hotel, near the Barbican, Theatre Royal and good restaurants. My birthday overnight to visit The Box, which was well worth the trip. An interesting and busy Turkish restaurant with a feast close. The decor was really interesting and stylish, beds comfortable. Felt as though it was relatively newly built but didn't check that - would go again.

The Moxy is located within ten minutes walk from Plymouth Hoe, the city centre and a similar distance from the ferry terminal. The hotel runs along the length of a very quiet side road (Bath Street). Even though my room was only on the second floor, I heard no traffic noise whatsoever. The hotel itself is less than two years old (as at June 2025) so the interior is in a very good state of decoration. The bar area next to reception is a pleasant space to pass a few hours - an unexpected surprise with it's nautical theme given the modern exterior. My room was very comfortable and well appointed. the shower room and bedlinen were very clean and the TV was the largest I have ever had in a hotel room. I would happily stay here again. Recommended.

Room was excellent. Clean and compact. Tea and coffee facilities. A compact clean and tidy bathroom with everything we needed for one night. Bed was comfortable. Brilliant location (we had a gig at the Plymouth Pavilions next door). On the way in we missed the carpark and ended up in one round the corner (3 min walk) that was £4 cheaper 👍 check in was quick. Booked because it’s located near the Theatre Royal. A perfect hotel for a short stay and such great value for money. A trendy, modern hotel with a really cool vibe. Free onsite car parking in a city centre is another massive plus. The staff are great too, so friendly and helpful. The complimentary cocktail and crème egg was a nice touch.

Hotel was great. Good quality furnishings in room and communal areas, bar area was very nice, and staff really helpful. Location-wise, although in an area under development, its really handy for the Hoe, Harbour & city centre. Would definitely stay again and recommend.

Hotel is great, excellent value, but all around the area is ' under development' so there is noise ( Monday morning @ 0630) and boarding up and some graffiti. I think once its all done it will be great, I was there on business but if it was a couple / family not so great. That said, I think the ' feel ' of the bar , the staff etc may make it worth a try.

Hotel was very clean, friendly staff, reasonably good breakfast (no fried eggs though, only scrambled) bacon, sausages (not gf) beans and hash browns (gf 👍) gf cereal available (Schar cornflakes and muesli) no gf sliced bread though, only rolls and I do like to have a bit of toast so that wasn't an option for me unfortunately. For those without dietary issues there was a selection of bread including sourdough and also a pancake making machine! Also fruit and fruit salad. It was all help yourself. The location was good....a bit of a walk mind you! There's one very expensive restaurant right nearby (didn't go in there) but lots of dining and eating in the Barbican area which is about 12-15 minutes straight walk up Notte street, or 20 minutes walk if you go the more scenic Hoe route.

This was not a cheap hotel. Parking was a problem, onsite car park was full. I eat at the hotel and had the burger and fries, no word of a lie, this was probably the worst burger I have ever eaten (totally tasteless) the fries were also tasteless. Honestly a McDonalds cheeseburger is 10 times better. However the crumble was ok. Breakfast was ok too. I definitely wouldn’t stay here again

The bathroom @ toilet are VERY small and cramped, Im only 5ft 7 small framed but I kept banging my elbows when showering. no room to swing a cat in it as they say. should of extended it into the wide bedroom space. Strange request asking for a £1 at checking when i already paid in full. car parking is expensive with a multi story 5 mins away much cheaper. No Decaf coffee

Pleasantly surprised - expected a 'room factory' but on arrival the staff were really welcoming and helpful and our room was great value for money; the bed was really comfortable, the lighting was excellent and the bathroom, although small, was spotless. Very impressed with the buffet breakfast: the choices available ranged from continental to full English and everything was fresh and nicely cooked and displayed.
