The apartment couldn’t be more ideally situated to walk to shops, restaurants, historic sites, and the waterfront. The owner was very responsive and the off street parking is a real perk. The property itself is a bit dark and the smell of weed in the hallway was ever present. Our only advice if you are going to rent this flat is that it doesn’t really have the basics for cooking your own food. If you are planning a stay and you plan to prepare some of your own meals you will need to bring everything along with you-including a spatula. But if you want to enjoy the local eateries then this is an ideal place. Very clean. Comfy bed. Huge washer and dryer.

I knew from looking at the photos in the listing that this VRBO was dated and the furniture was way past its prime. However, it was not so easy to see that the white sofa cushions are not white, but stained and dirty, the pillows all faded. The bedspread is faded with a decorative pillow that has the seam blown out and the stuffing sticking out. The towels are faded and have beach spots. There were no tissues and only one roll of toilet paper...this place could be great with a trip to Homegoods and a little love. The location is perfect and you can walk anywhere downtown. We had a lovely breakfast each morning right up the street at Baker's Kitchen. We love that there is a private parking space right out back. Because everything is so old and faded, it made the place feel dirty and sad. It needs a refresh!

First time to New Bern and stayed here for a 4-day event at the convention center. The location is fantastic! I had a 5-minute walk to the convention center and there are lots of restaurants and shops in easy walking distance as well. The front stairs up to the condos are a little steep but my condo had a backstairs access to the parking spaces and I used those after my arrival. My condo windows faced back away from the street so it was very nice and quiet at night. Condo was very comfortable…very clean, excellent water pressure in the shower, good a/c and heating. The desk in the photos was no longer there (be advised if that is a must) and the living blinds are broken (allows in some light from the parking area) but these were not major issues for me. Owner was very nice and prompt in answering my questions. Will definitely consider this location again in the future.

Location is excellent to explore downtown New Bern. The condo allows you to to access all of the Historic area on foot and the off street parking is an added bonus. Be prepared for some outside noise from deliveries in the early morning from the nearby restaurants, not a complaint, just an observation.

Great place to stay in New Bern! The location was central and we could walk everywhere. Parking was a breeze and the check-in/check-out instructions were very clear. Also dog friendly! Highly recommend.

This was our first time to New Bern. We loved it. We can not say enough about this condo. Right in the center of town. Off street packing. Many bars and restaurants within walking distance. Great shopping. Plus dog friendly. Park is two blocks away so our pup was happy. Great walkway at the water. We are coming back!

Communication with host was excellent...all our questions answered right away. The condo was very clean, comfortable queen bed, nice quality toilet paper and paper towels which might not mean much to some but I really appreciate. The location was good, easy access to everything. We parked our car for the entire visit and enjoyed walking. The parking in the back is a little tight but if you get in and leave your vehicle in place you're alright. There is street front parking as well. Expect some morning noise as restaurant dumpsters are being emptied and grease traps cleaned. Overall we had a very nice stay and appreciated the clean tidy condo.

Great place. One warning - steep steps going up to the place so not great for anyone with a mobility issue. Once inside I thought it was bigger than I expected. Clean and you are in the heart of downtown, easy to walk anywhere you want to go.

The property is great on the front side. The back side ( where my bedroom and living space were located) was too bright and noisy for solid sleeping. Think of bright lights and delivery trucks at 4am. Otherwise, I always felt safe and enjoyed the conveniences.

Overall the stay was great! We were not there much but we had great access to all of the restaurants and shops in town. Two things that I think should be changed are the couch….very uncomfortable and the WIFI we ended up having to connect our hotspot from our phones to the tv.

The location is great. Right downtown, walkable to everything. However, it was hard to sleep at night. The exhaust fan from the restaurant below is directly outside the bedroom, is very loud, and runs all night. Also, the staff from the bar/restaurant below would go out back near the bedroom after closing and were extremely loud all three nights we were there.

This is a beautiful unit right in the heart of downtown New Bern. We loved it until we got to the bedroom where there was an awful hum. We knew immediately that we couldn’t sleep with the noise. So, we contacted the owner, David. David responded within an hour and understood about the hum saying it came from a nearby restaurants exhaust fan. We wanted to leave the unit and David was completely in agreement if that’s what we wanted to do. We left and he gave a 100% refund. He said only 1 in 100 are bothered by the hum. We had just flown in from Portugal so we’re jet lagged and tired. It was an unfortunate circumstance to go through at 5 pm having to go find other accommodations but David took care of us the best he could.

Located in the heart of historic downtown New Bern. Plenty of street parking. Lots of old-time charm, not for you if you are looking for a modern/contemporary feel. My only critic is that the furniture was old/worn/mismatched, and not so much in a charming way. the kitchen accoutrements, especially the coffee maker, appeared to be leftovers from another home. However, if you love historic old buildings and can overlook the aforementioned, was great.

This is in a great location for access to great restaurants, shops, the New Bern Convention Center and other downtown New Bern sites. The unit has the basic needs covered, but no frils. Furniture is not very comfortable and kitchen is minimallystocked. Perfect if you just need access to downtown. But not if you plan to plan to spend much time in the unit.

We had a wonderful time visiting New Bern and staying at this apartment. Ideally located in Historic Downtown, we left the car parked and walked everywhere with our dog. We knew that the apartment was pet friendly, but the entire downtown area welcomed us and our fur baby girl. We were allowed to take her into a handful of shops and there were several restaurants or eateries that provided outdoor seating. We were surprised to see that two restaurants we visited offered a four-legged guest menu as well! After walking around all day, it was nice being close to where we stayed. The apartment was so comfortable and had everything we needed. Our host was great too, always quick to respond when we sent a message or had a question. We are already looking forward to a return visit to New Bern and hope to stay with this host again!

Apartment was in a perfect spot for enjoying downtown. The info about the stairs was helpful in that it is a very long set of stairs to the apartments. Owner was struggling with some rooftop fan noise but was very accommodating and concerned about its impact on us and was working to correct it. It is a renovated historic building. Parking was not an issue for us and there is parking around back, but it’s a little tricky to find at first without instructions. Overall a great spot and with family in the area we are planning on staying here again.

This is a great location from which to see and experience all that is unique and enjoyable in New Bern, and all on foot. From the beautiful waterfront view at Union Point Park, to historic Tryon Palace, North Carolina's first colonial Capitol and all the charming shops and restaurants.

The condo was very clean and exactly as described. The location was perfect and a short walk to many restaurants, shops, the Riverwalk, and the convention center. I would definitely stay again.

The apartment was perfect for what we needed for our long weekend in New Bern for a wedding. It was walking distance to the wedding and also to everything in downtown. We would definitely stay again.

First time to New Bern and stayed here for a 4-day event at the convention center. The location is fantastic! I had a 5-minute walk to the convention center and there are lots of restaurants and shops in easy walking distance as well. The front stairs up to the condos are a little steep but my condo had a backstairs access to the parking spaces and I used those after my arrival. My condo windows faced back away from the street so it was very nice and quiet at night. Condo was very comfortable…very clean, excellent water pressure in the shower, good a/c and heating. The desk in the photos was no longer there (be advised if that is a must) and the living blinds are broken (allows in some light from the parking area) but these were not major issues for me. Owner was very nice and prompt in answering my questions. Will definitely consider this location again in the future.

Great place to stay in New Bern! The location was central and we could walk everywhere. Parking was a breeze and the check-in/check-out instructions were very clear. Also dog friendly! Highly recommend.

Excellent location. Walking distance to waterfront, all of historic New Bern and easy access to hwy to get out of New Bern to go to the beaches. It’s not a fancy spot but well appointed and very clean and wonderful. I loved the back and front entry option!

Location was great!! Walking distance to nice restaurants and shopping. Only down fall was the shower head was awful. Water spayed in all directions!! This would be an easy & cheap fix. And the towels were too fluffy. They left blue lint after drying off. But other than that everything was great!! I’m not trying to be picky. Just trying to make suggestions for improvement.

The location was perfection for visiting downtown attractions and dining. Check-in couldn’t have been easier. In addition to the cleanliness, we greatly appreciated our host’s thoughtful touches such as coffee supplies, fluffy towels and simplified checkout.
