Hosts were friendly, responsive and helpful from start to finish. Property was great -we enjoyed the peace and quiet of the location and didn't even venture out as we made our own fun at the house to maximize our 2-night stay there. Absolutely loved the goats, swam in the pool/hot tub, played pool and other games, enjoyed cooking in the kitchen and grilling etc. Def recommend this property! So much character...

Our family of 3 generations enjoyed The Mountain House. Although the house, hot tub and pool water were clean, we needed to remove a multitude of leaves from the pool daily.before swimming. The generator was a definite plus for summer storms as well as the plethora of towels, game room ( billiard table and pin pong) toys for children, and the goats which we enjoyed feeding. The only other drawbacks were the broken window blind wands in the bedroom and lack of garbage kitchen bags (glad we brought our own) and lack of an door garbage can for our long stay. . Perhaps having a house manager near by would aid in the upkeep of such items. David was a gracious host not only forthcoming in meeting a couple of our requests in a timely fashion, but always available to communicate with me for any questions I had prior to our arrival.. All in all, despite the rain we had a delightful vacation making memories.

The Mountain House was the perfect place for us to celebrate our 50th anniversary with our family! We loved the rustic, quirky, artsy vibes there! The pool and hot tub were great for hot sunny days and balmy nights. It was wonderful to be able to see the pool from the glass windows of the main living area! The pool depth provided just the right combination for the 6 year old to the 14 year old! Everyone was able to relax, and the time was full of laughter and connections. We loved the history of the house (and the pianos, which were a little surprise that delighted me as a musician missing her piano back home!) David and Laura were very responsive and friendly. And the goats!!!… named by our granddears and visited often! All in all, a wonderful week… something that will, we know, become a core memory!!

I don't even know where to begin with the Mountain House because my words will never do it justice. I booked the home with my parents, wife, and our twin boys (13). We were visiting my brother and his family for his birthday and this was - simply put - a great place to hang out every day. The game room was stocked up and had a great pool table. The pool and hot tub were fantastic and surrounded by beautiful landscaping, and the house itself was absolutely FULL of character with gorgeous old hardwood floors and eclectic charm everywhere you looked. I couldn't tell you my favorite part of the property. Everything thing was my favorite part. The goats were hilarious - we tried bringing them carrots but they were more excited about the fresh leaves we pulled from the nearby trees! David was also a TOP NOTCH host and was always available. He also has the easiest checkout procedures I've had at a VRBO I can remember. The Mountain House is different, unique, and delightful. I will do all in my power to make a return trip. Oh, and don't forget to look for the giraffe in the backyard. 5 Stars across the board only because I can't give 6.

Our stay couldn’t have better! The home was charming and just what you’d expect when in that area of historical PA. The goats were a delight as was the pool and hot tub. We especially enjoyed the campfire, and the peaceful, natural surroundings. We’d definitely return for another stay! David was a fantastic host-available for questions before and during our day.

We enjoyed the solitude and atmosphere of the mountain house. It was very clean and the pool was a pleasant treat. The gardens provide a nice respite from city life although the outdoor furniture could use some updating. A fun house with a very well outfitted kitchen and many comfortable spaces.

This is a totally charming old house. We loved the differently colored bedrooms, the sunflower themes, and the spaciousness of the kitchen/dining/living area. Our group consisted of 6 senior women, and there were plenty of beds and bathrooms to accommodate us. The pool, hot tub and goats were an added bonus! I would totally recommend staying here.

I recently stayed at the mountain house with my family of 15 people ranging from adults to children and infants for a new Hope Polar Express weekend. I could not tell you how perfect the house is! Its charm and uniqueness is tremendous. Everything about the house has a quality of genuineness to its character. There is plenty of room for everyone, and the amenities, from the fireplace, to the game room, the children’s toys to the goats, every time we thought we saw it all there was something more charming. The house and property are very well maintained, the house has character for its age and you can see all of the updates that are done to maintain it as a wonderful property. Also communication with David the owner was excellent…he was quickly responsive to anything we needed. I highly recommend this property to anyone with a large group, especially with children who wants to be close to all New Hope has to offer. We can’t wait for our return!

Favorite hot tub experience. Awesome fireplace. Big refrigerator. Quiet! And there’s a giraffe in the backyard, trippin’ (lol!). The place could use a little TLC… easy & cheap to do: clear out guest closets, scale-down or redistribute the flatware to put less strain on the drawers, replace a burnt outlet in the hall bathroom, also hall bathroom where the hairdryer is stored, clean up the paint. Most expensive, flashing between roof & chimney as rain water was finding its way into the home sliding down to the hearth. Mid-expense, square ceiling patch in the living room.

There was a good amount of space for our large extended family. The house is quite well built so that kids could be in the game room and weren’t bothering adults in the living room with noise. There were lots of activities for the kids and tons of games for them to play with, the house is a little on the old side, but was very clean and comfortable. The owner was super responsive to all communication and even came to the house shortly after I had texted him about the AC in part of the house not working (it turned out it was just a couple of vents that were closed.). I would highly recommend this house.

We all had a wonderful time. The house was great, very welcoming and very comfortable. Many things to do and places to eat nearby. On the top of the mountain the surroundings were perfect, serene and calming. The pool and hot tub were crystal clear and provided a perfect ending to long days. Dave was a great host; he addressed any issues we had immediately. Definitely a great choice for a large group or family. We would book again. Thank you!

This is the second time we have stayed and love this house. It is a funky older home that is clean and perfect for a get away. Everyone slept great as it’s so quiet and peaceful. House is very comfortable and set up for relaxing family visits. Very well stocked with everything you need.

The Mountain House was very clean. It is in a very isolated location with a very long one lane driveway. We could see how renting this property in warmer weather would be ideal. New Hope has plenty to occupy you as well as many outdoor activities.

This home is beautiful! Lots of bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, a beautiful kitchen, and the hot tub was great. Very close to town, a nearby apple orchard, and the lot itself was beautiful as well. We had an issue during our stay from a downed tree that David was very responsive to. I appreciate his attention on this!

It was a great stay. The home is beautiful, spacious and private. Great way to spend with close friends or loved ones away from all the goings of city life but close enough if you need to make a run to a store. Would recommend anyone to book. The host is great and easy to get in contact with!

We were a group of 9 that stayed at the Mountain House for 1 night. We had a blast and were impressed by all of the space, how private the location felt, and how well-stocked the home was. Many people commented on how they would like to come back for a weekend or week to enjoy more that the property has to offer. Would certainly recommend to others!

We had a friends’ getaway long weekend here and loved it. The property is beautiful and we loved sitting outside by the pool with coffee and listening to the birds sing. The house is roomy and very homey and the beds were soooo comfortable. The location is perfect—-less than a ten minute drive to downtown New Hope with all its shops, restaurants, etc.., but the wooded property is private and quiet and definitely feels like you’re away from it all. We also loved the adorable goats, and fed them leaves and apples at every opportunity!

This is the second time we have stayed and love this house. It is a funky older home that is clean and perfect for a get away. Everyone slept great as it’s so quiet and peaceful. House is very comfortable and set up for relaxing family visits. Very well stocked with everything you need.

This is a totally charming old house. We loved the differently colored bedrooms, the sunflower themes, and the spaciousness of the kitchen/dining/living area. Our group consisted of 6 senior women, and there were plenty of beds and bathrooms to accommodate us. The pool, hot tub and goats were an added bonus! I would totally recommend staying here.

This home is beautiful! Lots of bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, a beautiful kitchen, and the hot tub was great. Very close to town, a nearby apple orchard, and the lot itself was beautiful as well. We had an issue during our stay from a downed tree that David was very responsive to. I appreciate his attention on this!

Property was terrific. Storm damage took out electricity but generator kicked in right away. Owner had electric company out within an hour and they restored power. Weather did not permit use of pool. Toys kept my granddaughter occupied. Goats were a hoot!

There was a good amount of space for our large extended family. The house is quite well built so that kids could be in the game room and weren’t bothering adults in the living room with noise. There were lots of activities for the kids and tons of games for them to play with, the house is a little on the old side, but was very clean and comfortable. The owner was super responsive to all communication and even came to the house shortly after I had texted him about the AC in part of the house not working (it turned out it was just a couple of vents that were closed.). I would highly recommend this house.

Everything was as described. Great communication made this an excellent stay. There are so many lovely spaces and the kitchen is very well appointed for cooking. Super close to New Hope but you still feel like you're in your own oasis. The goats were great, ate some hay, and made barely a peep in the morning.

I rarely give top ratings but this stay was everything we hoped for. We had to change our stay dates and had to face unforeseen issues with the weather. For both issues David was super accommodating. The whole family loved the long weekend, we couldn't be happier.

We all had a wonderful time. The house was great, very welcoming and very comfortable. Many things to do and places to eat nearby. On the top of the mountain the surroundings were perfect, serene and calming. The pool and hot tub were crystal clear and provided a perfect ending to long days. Dave was a great host; he addressed any issues we had immediately. Definitely a great choice for a large group or family. We would book again. Thank you!

We had a friends’ getaway long weekend here and loved it. The property is beautiful and we loved sitting outside by the pool with coffee and listening to the birds sing. The house is roomy and very homey and the beds were soooo comfortable. The location is perfect—-less than a ten minute drive to downtown New Hope with all its shops, restaurants, etc.., but the wooded property is private and quiet and definitely feels like you’re away from it all. We also loved the adorable goats, and fed them leaves and apples at every opportunity!

A beautiful eclectic home !! Had a wonderful family girls trip celebrating my sister’s 65th birthday! This home was spacious with stunning views and accommodated all of our needs. We enjoyed that we were close enough to town and yet at the end of the day benefited from the privacy & uniqueness of this fabulous home , additionally, the goats were an added bonus to our fun . Lastly , David could not have been a better host !. Our needs were immediately addressed !! A++

The Mountain House was very clean. It is in a very isolated location with a very long one lane driveway. We could see how renting this property in warmer weather would be ideal. New Hope has plenty to occupy you as well as many outdoor activities.

We enjoyed the solitude and atmosphere of the mountain house. It was very clean and the pool was a pleasant treat. The gardens provide a nice respite from city life although the outdoor furniture could use some updating. A fun house with a very well outfitted kitchen and many comfortable spaces.

The home feels like a home -- not like a sleek hotel lobby. We enjoyed the variety of rooms, different levels and things available for the kids. The kitchen/living space is great for hanging out preparing and enjoying family meals. The hot tub also got a lot of use -- especially nice on cold winter days! Naturally the goats were a big hit with the kids.

Our family’s premier holiday is Thanksgiving. We have spent Thanksgiving at our sister’s home for years in Bucks County with up to 30 people. Looked for a home nearby for 6 of us so there was another place for us to spend time together. Mountain House was absolutely perfect. The house, the kitchen and outdoors are extraordinarily well equipped. The library of art books, the paintings were enjoyed. The toy closet and pianos were a treat. One of our guests asked if the property was for sale. We hope to return. Thanks David!
