Clean lobby/ breakfast area also clean and good selection of food. Bedroom, sheets and bed comfy/clean, However floor was not swept, dust balls, dirt and crumbs all over the room! Thank goodness bed was clean. Gym good machines/ privacy/ clean.

A clean simply cozy place to stay for a short trip. Breakfast was available. Pool was open.

The staff is great. We arrived a bit early and they let us check in still. They have a free pool table in the lobby, although the pool sticks don't have tips and they need chalk we still enjoyed it. This place has more of a hip younger vibe to it.

There was nothing unique about this property. The rooms were very small. About 1 ft between bed and wall. Breakfast bar was not kept stocked. Pancake machine was very slow. Front desk staff were more interested in their phones than filling things or greeting guest. Pool was ice cold. Nothing like what was advertised on the website.

Grear place to stay - ample parking, multiple entrances, pool, free breakfast and pet friendly. The only thing i would change is more approachable reception staff and I had to chase room service. Other hotel was clean and inviting. Safe neighbourhood too.

Great breakfast. Newer room updates. Kids loved the room layout. Pool was perfect depth for 6 and 9 year old. They could touch bottom throughout the entire pool.

Pool was warm

The outside of hotel is trashed, need to clean patio and the landscaping is sub par. No flowers in flower boxes and pull all of the weeds around the entire building and patio. The site needs a lot of love!

This was an enjoyable stay with one exception—we stayed here for the pool. But we couldn’t even let our grand children go in it was so unbelievably cold. It really was a huge disappointment.

I asked the front desk to please have the floor in my room cleaned it was turning the bottom of my socks black. The floor was filthy. Nothing was done. The outer shade was off its track. I asked to have it fixed, nothing was done. The people that work there were pleasant I wouldn’t mind another stay but I don’t like staying in a dirty room.

The front desk staff was friendly and welcoming, but the lobby was noticeably dirty—smudged glass and a worn rug. Our room looked clean at first, but the sheets had hair and stains. Staff quickly brought fresh ones, which resolved the issue, but overall cleanliness needs improvement.

No complaints, hotel was very very clean

It was a well kept hotel, clean but not especially clean. Hair in the shower, back of ear ring on the bathroom floor.

The hotel hallways were super dirty, as if someone accidentally dumped some trash and didn't vacuum it up. Sheets were stained. Bathroom floor needed to be scrubbed. Only positive - beds were comfy.

The halls were filthy. Filled with trash bags. The carpet had not been vacuumed. The room was dusty and had 1 towel,1 washcloth..not enough for 2 people. The common dining area was dirty. Tables were washed/cleaned.

I really should’ve taken a photo but I didn’t, it was too gross. First off, we arrived late in town for checking. Out 1st room’s heat didn’t work and the thermostat said that filtered needed to be changed and it was a chilly night. So we received a 2nd room and it was dirty, trash visibly under the bathroom sink and the bath floor was dirty with hair in it. 3rd room was fine, it was a queen sinks bed and handicap accessible. We slept in one of the queen beds, we had a 2 night stay. We were packing up to check out and I decided to pull the covers back on the 2nd bed and there was massive size of dried blood on the mattress and mattress cover. I told the front desk attendant and they I assume they noted the info. This is completely unacceptable, the sheets are being curated but not the mattress cover and the mattress should’ve been thrown out. When they changed the sheets they saw the dried blood on the mattress cover and decided to cover the mattress cover with clean sheets. Just sharing for awareness to check your room thoroughly (even though I cleaned it and sanitized it, check beyond the sheets etc). The bed we slept in was fine.

There are no coffee pots in the rooms and I had to ask for an ice bucket. This is definitely a place for Gen Z clients as it is more like a college dorm than a hotel. The room was clean but surface clean and not deep cleaned as there were dust bunnies by the walls and behind the refrigerator. There is no carpeting so the noise from the furnace is amplified and loud. All in all it was ok but just not my liking.

Great hotel and easy for friends to gather and meet up. Only issue was the blinds fell down when I pushed the button to lower the power blinds. The hotel did not have anyone to fix it on the weekend so had to do without.

Cute but rooms were just small

This is definitely NOT a property for an extended stay visit. Open closet concept with only 6 hangers (glad I brought my own), no drawers so we had to live out of our suitcase for a week! We had an accessible handicap room and there was one chair that was on wheels which is definitely not suitable for this type of room due to it being on wheels. Could not squeeze the soap, shampoo, conditioner or body lotion due to arthritic hands. Ended up purchasing a bar of soap and container to use. Disappointed with no coffee maker or microwave. I definitely will make the TruHilton location as a last resort!

So first thing is no black out curtains. I didn't know hotels didn't use them. So at 6am it's bright as you know what. But the most disappointing thing is the thin walls. I heard someone getting called daddy for 3 hours from 2am to 5am. They had me in an adjoining room for some reason when there were many available rooms. After learning my neighbors name they then proceeded to have company from 5-630 in the hallway. I got no sleep. Truly disappointed

Room did not have a coffe pot. Thermostate did not work well. TV remopte was problematic. No creme rinse in te shower.

The room was clean-ish. The lack of carpet and furniture in the room made it very seem cold, loud and echoey. Our feet were black after walking around after we showered. The shower practically flooded the bathroom and made it slippery. The room had no sense of “cozy” or welcoming. The walls were extremely thin. I was able to clearly hear a conversation next door. They were having an average conversation at what seemed a normal volume. The bed was comfortable, but there were no extra blankets in the room. Breakfast was good, the pancake and yogurt stations were great. All these things could be overlooked and I would have had a decent stay. What made it officially a 2 vs 5 star rating was that at 6:15 AM an alarm in the wall started going off. It flashed lights and beeped loudly for almost 30 minutes. I called the front desk to tell them my wall was beeping and she said “oh, ok, I will fix it” and then she hung up on me. 10 minutes later the alarm finally stopped. By this time we were awake and crabby. It was next to impossible to go back to sleep. I wasn’t offered an explanation or apology for the disturbance. Probably not worth complaining about but here I am tired, hung over and irritated that I was woken so early on our one night away from work, home, kids and life. I just wanted a lazy relaxing getaway. I would probably stay again, but will bring blankets, slippers and ear plugs

Mattresses seamed old and not comfortable

I found the manager to be abusive, unprofessional and condensing.

Staff here goes above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable. Even sent me a text to make sure my stay was going great.

Hotel is greatly understaffed. We asked twice for extra pillows and were told none available - can't you take some from an empty room for two nights? We asked for an extra blanket- they gave us another comforter which is paper thin. Sheets on bed are awful. Pillows are awful. Toiletries are not refilled from one stay to the next so you may run out while there and have to ask for more- only one person every working at the front desk so they can't do it all on their own. Entire time we were there it smelled of weed in hallway and elevator and even came into our room but they couldn't stop it from happening. Other than breakfast lady, staff don't seem to be happy to be there. Bare bones info given on checkin- they should tell you about wifi, pool hours etc. Everything in room is cheap quality including our faucet which could be moved 180 degrees and the shower which needed a good scrubbing. No housekeeping while we were there- had to ask for clean towels and towels are paper thin and basically big enough to wrap your head not your body. You get what you pay for in this hotel. I would almost compare it to a motel. And I get a request from them two hours after checking out to notify them upon checkout if I experienced any issues. Email sent too late and I tried to do it while I was there but was unsuccessful. I would NOT recommend this hotel.

No towels in room. Checked in at 3:00pm, no towels. I called at 6:30am they said the towel cleaner doesn’t come in until 8:00am. Called at 10:00am they said it would be one hour. None were ever brought to my room.

The front desk staff was super friendly! They helped get our rooms close to other family members which was extremely appreciative!

Easy location of I-75 and centrally located near Troy. Excellent work out room. Very updated casual but sophisticated colorful decor. Great price. Very good breakfast bar. Room compact but comfortable, and bathroom roomy and convenient shower design. Would stay again!

Great place to stay in Metro Detroit great location!

Great hotel for an overnight stay. Room was clean and hotel was quiet. Easy parking and convenience to restaurants.

Loved the hotel! It's perfect for doing the Detroit metro area on a budget. Limited options directly around the hotel for things to do, but a quick drive or Uber to restaurants.

Great convenient location to the concerts and to restaurants after the concerts! Easy breakfast Fun for the kids.

In the business district, so it's not super walkable, but it's a great place to stay and enough amenities to not need to go very far!

Comfortable clean rooms in a very convenient location.

The hotel was close to the Mall and lots of other stores and dining. Easy on and off from the interstate. I felt safe and the area was quiet.

Good location if you are visiting some of the businesses in the area. Not many restaurants nearby as to walk to but Big Beaver Rd is a short driving distance away with plenty of options.

Property is like new and clean. Issue we had was hot breakfast items were served stone cold. I dont care about eating things cold normally, but the holding temp should be 135 degrees. We work in the food industry and have a laser thermometer. We clocked it at 90 degrees at the pan and 80 degrees on the food. Management disagreed with our findings but it is what it is. I doubt there was really a chance of getting sick, but the rules on food safety are not vague.

We were greeted with a friendly host. Early check in no problem (10 minutes). Very quiet, lots of seating at the lobby. Very "modern and fresh". Breakfast had turkey sausage. Only the blue colored milk. Pankcakes with a variety of toppings. Toast, bagels. Tv welcomed you with your name.

Due to a medical condition our sheets were soiled. Knowing they don't change sheets daily I explained the issue to morning desk clerk. I was told they were short staffed and she wasnt sure I could get sheets changed. I even offered to change sheets myself if they would give sheets to me. Upon arrival back to our room, the sheets were not changed nor were sheets made available. I talked to evening staff and they were not willing to get sheets changed. I said several times the sheets were soiled. Finally they handed me clean sheets so I could make the bed myself. I stay at Hilton's often and was shocked staff wasnt sympathetic and willing to help without me insisting. When I told night staff the morning staff wasn't very accommodating they laughed and joked that it didn't surprise them. But they weren't very accommodating till I insisted. Breakfast was very sparse for a Hilton. Items ran out. Pancake machine broken, oatmeal very runny. Due to several guests the upkeep of items and cleaning was slow, but to be fair they were busy. I suspect they were short staffed.

I've stayed at other Tru by Hilton locations and this one was average. The shower didn't appear the cleanest and a few pieces of linen on one of the beds was dirty. I requested new linen and never received it. Breakfast was decent, they serve it from 6am-10am I believe, the hot food was gone around 8:30ish and they never restocked for the late sleepers. Would I go back? Yes, but not to that specific location.

Always clean and fresh smelling. Breakfast good and chocolate chip cookies this time!

I loved the automated pancake machine and the colors and aesthetic of the building!

This location was ok. Conveniently located for my purposes. Room was clean, bed comfy. Drawbacks were the shower, which had terrible water pressure and didn’t get very warm. The bathroom tile floor had no grout between the tiles, so you could see concrete between the tiles. I’m sure that’s hard to clean. The breakfast was the worst. Toaster and pancake maker didn’t work. All breads were stale. Oatmeal was runny but edible. Would not choose this property again.

Breakfast was good they only put out pork products I asked if they offered any other options and the attendant was able to accommodate us with chicken sausage instead she went over and beyond. Great service on the Sunday morning shift .

Your breakfast does not meet the standard of other Tru by Hilton hotels we have stayed in. The toaster would not toast any bread and the food was cold. People were throwing their food away due to it being cold. We were shocked because the last 2 times we have stayed at a Tru, their food was outstanding — just not at this location.
