Our Habitas Bacalar – Adults Only

Very peaceful retreat on Lake Bacalar. I enjoyed all the wellness centered activities. The food was excellent and the staff amazing. Between the A frame design and the outdoor shower, we were sold. Highly recommend.

Loved everything about this place. Peace and quiet. Great service. You can get picked up on their dock for great private boat tours. Good was delicious. We went from Cancun to Bacalar in the Mayan Train and the hotel helped us with the transportation from and to the train station. I also recommend the mayan train.

10/10! Worth every penny. My husband and I stayed for 7 nights and were able to truly unplug and unwind here. The staff is excellent and very helpful. The property is clean and gorgeous. The amenities like complimentary breakfast (which was a very generous portion and delicious), exercise classes (mat Pilates, barre and yoga), water coloring class and paddle boards for guests made our experience top tier. The outdoor shower felt super clean and I couldn’t wait to use it everyday. The only down side is the property is not near any restaurants and is not walkable. We had to take a taxi to the downtown area every day and it added up, about $30 round trip each time we left. The breakfast and lunch menu were delicious. The dinner for some reason was not, which is why we’d leave every night. Also prices are quite steep compared to restaurants in downtown that taste better. However, we’d definitely come back again and will miss the property and staff until then.

Beautiful setting with well thought out rooms. There wasn’t a huge amount of storage space but you can make it work. The individual room ‘pods’ nestle into the landscape, giving the place a unique and private feel. Showers are outside but totally private & a nice touch to make the hotel feel that little bit different. Situated directly overlooking the stunning blue lake, provides a beautiful backdrop to the hotel. Plenty of comfy sunbeds on the sun deck with partial shade if preferred. Paddle boards are available to use free of charge. However, there is a sunrise trip from the hotel with a guide. This is at an extra cost but I would highly recommend. It is an exceptionally peaceful time to be out on the water with a guide to help you see the lake at its best. Excellent menu and the team were very flexible if you wanted to make small adjustments to the dishes on offer. Breakfast is generous & a good selection of options. I dropped a star as the venue is very dark at night. Also, at breakfast, the honey offered with the fruit bowl attracts the bees, in numbers. We passed on the honey the second day & it was less of an issue. The dinner menu provides excellent choices but a little limited if you are staying more than 3 nights. The team at Our Habitas are lovely. They really cannot do enough for guests and always have a smile. A unique and tranquil venue. You will not be disappointed.

The location is amazing..quiet in the middle of the nature. The private access to the lagoon is so convenient and the lagoon colors/views are breathtaking. The staff and the service is outstanding. Definitely going back soon

Alles top, vor allem das sehr freundliche und aufmerksame Personal, die Location ist ein Traum, Essen und Getränke sind sehr gut und die täglichen Aktivitäten des Hotels sind auch super. Ah ja, und natürlich die Massagen sind top.

This place is magical, genuinely. It is so beautiful - not only the lagoon, but the details in the cabins and everywhere else across the site makes it lovely. In the evening you can see a trail of individually lit candles all along the hotel, which makes a beautiful walk. There are no words to describe the lagoon, which is the most beautiful water you'll ever see, no matter what time of day you look, it is always different. There are kayaks and paddle boards included (although beware you're not allowed to use them on Wednesday as it's a rest day for the lagoon). There is a lovely bar by the lagoon where you can get all kinds of drinks and snacks, plus there is a restaurant on site, although the variety of food in the dinner menu is significantly smaller than for breakfast, so it can get old quite quickly. The rooms are really nice and surprisingly not noisy at all! There are two aspects of the service that can be considered: the restaurant/bar: everyone is suuuuper friendly and lovely to deal with, however, it can be quite slow - especially in the restaurant part, the speed is lacking. Most times we had dinner there, it took a significant amount of time for them to take our order / bring the food, etc. (Even though it was not busy). Reception: there is no phone coverage in the area, so you have to communicate with the hotel through WhatsApp. I've gotta say on that front it is excellent. They would reply to any query within minutes, and there was never more than a 5 minute

What a fantastic place to stay in Bacalar! The paddle boarding, the swimming, the yoga, the massages, and the staff were all amazing! We loved the activities and enjoyed everything about this little oasis on the lake!

Wunderbarer Ort am See. Einer der schönsten Abschnitte. Sehr schönes Resort. Luxuriöse schilfbedeckte Hütten, innen wie ein Zelt bewacht, mit Aussendusche. Leckeres Frühstück, inklusive. Lediglich die Preise im Restaurant für Dinner und Lunch etwas überteuert. Waren 2 Nächte, wären gerne länger geblieben

Only thing that was a bit of a bummer was that we couldn't connect to the wifi in the room. The signal was too weak. Our room was too far from the router. Next time we'll request a room with better wifi. Overall a beautiful hotel. Hopefully we can return soon!

Beautiful property and very clean. Would say don’t go in June too many mosquitoes and too much rain. Which made for dark lagoon. But all in all beautiful.

EL LUGAR ES MUY BONITO FALTA DE MUEBLES COMO SOMBRILLAS UN MENU MAS AMPLIO Y SENCILLO. FALTA DE AMENIDADES EN LOS CUARTOS COMO ROOM SERVICE , CAFE,EL MENU DE DESAYUNO QUE ESTA INCLUIDO MUY POBRE Y TE COBRAN POR TODO. CLOSET Y CAJONERA EN LOS CUARTOS.

Tout simplement extraordinaire. Les chambres sont magnifiques sous forme de tipi avec la douche extérieure qui est une chouette expérience ! Les petits déjeuners excellents ainsi que le restaurant ++++! Le cadre incroyable calme et les activités tops ! Le personnel très gentil (mention spéciale à Shinta). Petite mention spéciale à ce magnifique ponton où nous nous sommes fiancés !

Truly a paradise. We booked a lagoon room and waking up to the sunrise over the lake every day was amazing! The food - wow! Creative and fresh flavors - everything was so delicious! The yoga/meditation/mindful movement classes were also superb and the Shala was such a peaceful place to practice. So amazing to be able to just read and lounge and jump in the most gorgeous lagoon of 7 colors!

From the moment we stepped foot on the property, it felt like home. Premium but with nature. The perfect blend. The staff were fantastic. The services perfect. The cabin was amazing, the bed was incredibly comfortable as were the sheets and pillows. The outdoor shower was sooooo nice, amazing water pressure. The whole package was great, only wish we had chosen to stay at lease one or two more days and spend more time on property instead of doing activities. Highly recommend and we will be back for another visit for sure.

El lugar es hermoso . El lago es espectacular . Se escucha todo de cabaña a cabaña . Inclusive el celular . Falta luz en el espejo del baño . La naturaleza es bellísima

La struttura è bellissima, si trova nella parte finale della laguna un po’ isolata ma in una posizione buona. Consigliamo di starci due giorni per potersi godere i servizi e un po’ di riposo nella struttura. La Colazione è buona e può essere fatta anche a bordo laguna (purtroppo a noi non lo ha detto nessuno). La Camera jungle è spaziosa e molto curata nei dettagli con una doccia all’aperto. Consigliamo Di chiedere una camera appartata (noi avevamo l’ultima, mi sembra la 32, che consigliamo), alcune hanno poca privacy ad esempio perché davanti al ristorante. Il ristorante buono ma troppo buio la sera. Ottimi le tavole per Sup e le Canoe per fare un giro nella laguna. Le attività come sup all’alba e il Giro in barca sono molto cari ma d’altronde si tratta di una struttura di lusso.

It was very calming to be on the lagoon. The rooms were very nice, although there were no drawers to put clothes in, only a shelf under the sink and one under a small area where you could hang clothes. There are no tv's, which was ok with me! The outdoor shower is wonderful as you look up at the beautiful trees and sky, nature at its finest! The wooden deck pathways to the rooms and the deck by the lagoon are nice. However, if you have trouble walking, you need to know that the pathways and stairs to other areas, such as the dining area in the main building, are challenging and uneven. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. It is a great place for anyone who wants some quiet, serene time away from everyday life!

La peor experiencia en un hotel. No respetaron la reservación YA PAGADA que tenía con ellos y nos arruinaron el fin de semana. No quieren tampoco hacerse cargo del reembolso y entre Expedia y ellos se echan la bolita.

The location was perfect and the staff was wonderful.

El personal es de primera, nos atendieron de forma amable y cálida. Se esforzaron por ayudarnos y darnos la mejor experiencia. Desde la recepción, hasta el servicio en los restaurantes, todo espectacular. Lo recomiendo ampliamente.

El servicio del personal se queda corto de la Excelencia. En el área del deck se podían ver hasta 4 empleados en el bar pero había que estar "cazandolos" e incluso levantarse e ir hasta ellos para que brindarán atención y servicio. La comunicación interna es muy deficiente, se ve que los empleados no ponen su mejor esfuerzo en este tema: en dos ocasiones solicité un taxi y se suponía que cuando el taxi llegase al hotel me avisarían del lobby de su llegada. No sucedía, tenía que estar yo preguntando hasta que contestaban después de varios minutos; el día del check out solicité el servicio de recogida de maletas de mi habitación para las 12 de mediodía y no pasaron por ellas hasta las 12:20 después de tener que insistirles tres veces. El maletero que recogió las maletas (porque yo lo busqué) me dijo que nadie le había indicado que tenía que recoger mis maletas. En fin, pueden sonar a "detalles menores" pero están lejos de la excelencia esperada de este hotel

A really great stay - the location, the rooms, the food, everything was perfect, why we spent the majority of our time in Bacalar at the hotel. Staff were very attentive and friendly. Because of a double booking, the hotel had to change our dates a month before arrival, but we were offered complimentary massages and a bottle of sparkling wine for the inconvenience. I would recommend everyone to go here - we could have easily stayed more than the 3 nights we had booked!

En general tuvimos una excelente experiencia. La comida es fabulosa, el diseño espectacular. Lo negativo fue la experiencia en la llegada. Tardaron más de 1 hora en llevarnos la maleta al cuarto. Nunca nos dieron la experiencia de bienvenida.

Ein Traum und sehr empfehlenswert, es braucht Auto oder Taxi um nach Bacalar zukommen.

The property is gorgeous and has the most breathtaking lake front view and access. The food is good but a bit expensive. Fantastic service

Es el mejor hotel de Bacalar. El personal es super, super amable y dispuesto a servirte y hacerte sentir a gusto. La comida es exquisita, aunque no es muy basta, pues las porciones son pequeñas. El hotel está literal frente al laguna, tan solo hay que caminar unos metros para estar a la orilla, y la laguna es como de película.

Very beautiful property. I loved that it was peaceful and that the lagoon was easily accessible. Breakfast was delicious. The only thing, is I wish their were more dinner options but other than that, it was a delightful stay.

First thing, the property is nice with great location. The restaurant food was very good, but pricey. Our accommodations were very cool and clean. However the outdoor wooden furniture is so uncomfortable, you will need a yoga class to help with the sore back after a few days sitting on it. The property needs to do something about this, pillows are not the solution. All prices are in pesos on the property, as it should. However when you check out the invoice is exchanged into US$ at the property’s decided exchange rate (higher than actual exchange rate). If you are a local they are asking guests to pay in US dollars not pesos, this is Wrong. The invoice should be in Pesos so guest can pay using their own credit card with a favourable exchange rate to the peso. If not a guest would have paid an invoice in pesos converted into US$, then to their home credit card currency. This means an over payment due to many exchange conversions. At check out, I had to really push to be charged in pesos as I wanted to pay using my Canadian credit card. I would suggest a maximum 2 nights stay.
