The staff are so friendly and helpful! From the front desk, to the breakfast staff, housekeeping and laundry service, all were exceptional! The hotel has a lovely breakfast everyday with a wide variety of both hot and cold options, many of which are locally sourced. The evening patio dining and bar overlooked the ocean and although the menu was not as expansive, there were quite a lot of beverage options. The room we had was one of the suites, and met all of our needs. The housekeeping staff kept us well supplied with all amenities. The spa was wonderful as well. I enjoyed my 20% discount on my massage which was very enjoyable. Overall a very nice stay!

The food and drink was good, especially the included breakfast. We loved the location between Chania and Heraklion for sightseeing. The town of Rethymno was charming with good food and shopping. Pool was lovely but unheated. Friends got massages at the spa and were pleased with the results.

Väldigt bra! Nära till det mesta. Synd bara med folk som tog upp alla solstolar vid poolen tidigt och la sina handdukar och var ej där på flera timmars Då kunde man inte utnyttja den när man har 3 små barn. Blir lite tråkigt när man bokar hotell med pool men finns inga platser ledigt och ändå är det bara 1-2 personer i poolen.

Beautiful setting and our room on 8th floor had amazing views over the sea and of the forteza. The room itself was very spacious with a separate good size bedroom with plenty of storage and open plan living room/kitchen area. Kitchen was well equipped although a few more glasses would have been nice. The bathroom was also a good size , the only negative was the shower which was over the bath and it was difficult to contain the water which sprayed everywhere including the floor. The pool area was lovely with plenty of sun beds and a nice bar area as well as an evening bar with stunning views. The staff were great . Very helpful and the cleaning was done to a high standard. Approx 15 min walk into the old town . Path was quite narrow in places and road was busy but easy to get buses and taxis. There were quite a lot of steps to the hotel just to be aware

This was our fourth time staying at the Macaris and every time we have loved it. The staff are welcoming and helpful, the facilities are great, and it's the perfect location for exploring Rethymno without being right in the centre of town.

We did enjoy our stay very much. The rooms were big enough for 4 people and quiet as well as clean. Very responsive service. The pool area though is too small - most beds were always taken and the water is very warm. There is no private beach nearby as mentioned in the property information. The property/rooms are a little dated too, especially the bathrooms. We would still come back as we enjoyed the great ocean view and the quietness of the rooms.

The apartments were modern clean and spacious a 15 minute walk to the old town which is doable unless extremely hot then you would get a taxi which ranges from 7 to 9 euros depending on which taxi driver you get. The hotel was lovely and my only comment would be that I wish they had more of the staff visit the pool area to ask if we would like a drink instead of having to get up and go to the bar to order. Overall a great stay and very happy with our holiday.

Fantastic place to stay. Some modern updates. Nice view. Cleaning and breakfast buffet staff were great! We had one miserable male night manager front desk person who seamed to be upset about us asking for more toilet paper and made me get it out of the lobby washroom. Not cool. But the breakfast was great so was the pool. I recommend this hotel.

The minute my husband and I entered the hotel, we were so happy. The people at the front desk were beyond kind and helpful. They answered any questions we had and were even available to help us call a cab whenever we needed to leave the hotel. Our room was especially amazing. It was so clean, comfortable, convenient in more ways than we were prepared for a hotel room, and quiet. We couldn't have asked for a better hotel to stay at while in Rethymno. We will stay here every time we return!

Har rest mycket och i olika världsdelar men har aldrig tidigare mött en så excellent service! Och det gäller all personal utan undantag! Helt oroligt! Lägenheten var topp, städningen likaså. Vi vill rikta ett stort tack till alla som gjorde vår vistelse så fantastisk (vi hade en del problem med att gå pga fysiska besvär men det fixade dom så det fungerade utmärkt)

Hadde totalt sett et ganske greit opphold. Rommet var helt ok. Det eneste virkelig negative med oppholdet var at vi flere ganger observerte kakerlakker på terrassen, det var virkelig ekkelt.

We had the larger suite with two separate bedrooms and a large terrace. The view over the pool area and ocean was great and after we added the service of starting the terrace jacuzzi (150€ for one week, super value for money!) it was just awesome. It takes about 15 minutes to walk downtown and maybe 5 minutes more if you want to be at the main beach which worked fine for us. We never tried the hotel restaurant for dinner as it was easy to go downtown to eat. However, if you want to go to the really nice restaurants you should just go the opposite direction of the centre for some really nice places directly by the sea with awesome views of the bay. You should definitely take time to have at least one dinner at Cavo which was our favourite place during our stay.

Hotel bem localizado, cafe da manha maravilhoso, sacada expetacular com vista , silencioso, otimo chuveiro, pessoas simpáticas sempre prontas a atender. Pontos negativos: Cama nao era muito confortável, lençois , fronhas nao eram de qualidade e novos. Nao concordaram em adiar o checkout por 3 horas. Banheiro sem janela e sem cortina.. molhava muito no chão. Xampu condicionador sabonete hidratante de pessimo odor.

We boekten de executive suite op de achtste verdieping. Zeer ruim, twee aparte slaapkamers, twee WC's, een badkamer, keuken en living. Prachtig uitzicht over de stad van op het balkon dat voorzien was van een loungeset en een eettafel. Het enige minpuntje is dat de douche/bad lekte.
We boekten de executive suite op de achtste verdieping. Zeer ruim, twee aparte slaapkamers, twee WC's, een badkamer, keuken en living. Prachtig uitzicht over de stad van op het balkon dat voorzien was van een loungeset en een eettafel. Het enige minpuntje is dat de douche/bad lekte.

Beautiful hotel. I stayed in a superior 1 bed apartment and it is the best room I have ever stayed in on holiday. It was like having your own plush flat with a double balcony, queen size bed, longe and dining area and fully equipped kitchen. Even the balcony furniture was exceptional - relaxing chairs and a separate dining table. All rooms have a sea view which is amazing. Could not fault the staff, their professionalism and politeness. Nothing was too much for them. Fab quiet pool area with great sunbeds and umbrellas - and no reserving of beds. Lovely bar, snack and dinner menu very reasonable. All in all - pretty perfect

The room we had was one of the suites, and met all of our needs. The housekeeping staff kept us well supplied with all amenities. The spa was wonderful as well. I enjoyed my 20% discount on my massage which was very enjoyable. Overall a very nice stay!

Amazing experience overall. Great check in, great room, great space for 2 adults and 2 teenagers. Cold bottle of wine, fruit and water in the fridge and amazing breakfast. Staff also supper friendly. One of the best bookings I’ve made on hotels.com for my family (who tend to be picky)

Beautiful setting and our room on 8th floor had amazing views over the sea and of the forteza. The room itself was very spacious with a separate good size bedroom with plenty of storage and open plan living room/kitchen area. Kitchen was well equipped although a few more glasses would have been nice. The bathroom was also a good size , the only negative was the shower which was over the bath and it was difficult to contain the water which sprayed everywhere including the floor. The pool area was lovely with plenty of sun beds and a nice bar area as well as an evening bar with stunning views. The staff were great . Very helpful and the cleaning was done to a high standard. Approx 15 min walk into the old town . Path was quite narrow in places and road was busy but easy to get buses and taxis. There were quite a lot of steps to the hotel just to be aware

Fantastic place to stay. Some modern updates. Nice view. Cleaning and breakfast buffet staff were great! We had one miserable male night manager front desk person who seamed to be upset about us asking for more toilet paper and made me get it out of the lobby washroom. Not cool. But the breakfast was great so was the pool. I recommend this hotel.

The food and drink was good, especially the included breakfast. We loved the location between Chania and Heraklion for sightseeing. The town of Rethymno was charming with good food and shopping. Pool was lovely but unheated. Friends got massages at the spa and were pleased with the results.

This property has amazing views and was so relaxing. It’s a little walk to shopping and restaurants in Rethymno but we walked down to the beach area across the street and along the water into town. We really enjoyed our walks and being close to the activity but not too close. The staff was amazing and the breakfast was excellent. The room was perfect, clean and comfortable! We would love to visit again.

The hotel has a lovely breakfast everyday with a wide variety of both hot and cold options, many of which are locally sourced. Sehr schöne Apartments mit herrlichem Blick. Es fehlte uns an nichts. Einziger Kritikpunkt: Der Frühstücksraum könnte gemütlicher gestaltet werden und beim Frühstück ist noch etwas Luft nach oben. Wir würden aber jederzeit wiederkommen und das Hotel weiter empfehlen.

Ok stay, loo did not work buttons stuck eventually fixed after asking three times. I would not recommend this hotel for the elderly or people with mobility issues as there are numerous steps both inside and outside around the pool area and bars. Had breakfast included but not very good buffet was warm not hot at all, fried eggs cold are not great. On a positive note most of the staff were very friendly. Pool clean but very small. It’s not somewhere we would revisit unfortunately.

The hotel is located a 5 min wall from old town. The beach-strip is on the other side of old town but the environment is quiet and relaxing. We had a great stay, the staff is great and the service level is excellent. Nice view of sunset over the ocean and fortezza. Spacious and well kept suites. Good parking oppurtunities.
