Cyan Cancun Resort & Spa

This is the first time i have ever posted a bad review and I use Hotels.com a lot. The room and building are not in great condition. The pictures used on the site are old. We could not see through the Window in our ocean view room because it was so dirty. I washed what I could reach myself and it stayed that way all week. Furniture is pretty beat up. Night stands are mounted to and falling off the wall. USB plugs didn't work and only one outlet it the main room. cracks in walls, bathroom door that doesn't shut. Pool loungers that are ripped apart. Also, this is NOT a resort. Spa was not open and no one wants to let you charge anything to your room. I got my room for 1/2 price and I feel that even that was too much to pay.

The swimming pool is very nice, the staff is attentive, it's clean, the property could be modernized.however, I understand as it's very affordable.

Property had limited dining option and menu. Property seemed too small. One pool with no other option. Like the easy access to the beach. Bartender at the pool was the best.

We had a canceled flight and this property was only 10 minutes from airport so we chose it. We were very impressed with the staff, the pool and the beautiful beach location. The waves were very big here but the beach and water were beautiful. The beach chairs probably need replaced but other than that beach was great! Pool was large and clean, pool bar was small but bartender got drinks out quick and they were good. Not fancy but good value for the money. Our bed was AWESOME! We have stayed in Cancun/Playa/Tulum/Isla Mujeres probably 20 times and unlike 90% of the beds we've had this bed was extremely comfortable. We had a lower level pool front room with steps that went right out to our pool cabana. The room also had a 2 person jetted tub that we didn't use. The water pressure and hot water were also great and not always very good at other resorts. For the money this place was amazing. I don't know that I would want to stay more than a few nights as there isn't a lot of food choices or entertainment nearby and the resort is pretty minimal but I would highly recommend for anyone needing a night or two on a budget.

The spa was out of order. The rooms are in bad condition. The nathrooms smell all the time. The staff is not so friendly.

Improve restaurant food quality and prices. Price was way too high for food portion and quality was not good. Since there are not many other restaurants nearby there should be better menu options. Toilets don’t flush well in the rooms. There is only one outlet close to the TV so charging devices was difficult. There are stains on the couch. I did not want to sit on it. Balcony door does not shut well and when it’s windy the door rattles and wakes you up at night. I only received two small bottles of water upon arrival and they were never refreshed when the room was cleaned. No option for coffee in the rooms and overpriced coffee in restaurant that was not good. Gym was very small and not useful. Room key card was not working properly. Constantly going to lobby to get it fixed was annoying. I would not stay here again. A few good things… Pool and beach were nice, quiet and kept clean. Bus stop close by but far from hotel zone about 15-20 min. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Smart tv in room was good for streaming and internet speed was good.

The staff was very helpful and the check-in process was smooth. I was disappointed in the spa. I made two appointments both of which she did not show up for. The food was good, I was just hoping for a bigger variety and selection in the restaurant. The pool was great! And the pool side bar was also great!

the resort is beautiful nice location the OXXO across the street is perfect, everything was perfect, my room with seaview perfect the elevator excellent the services the people friendly , the infinity swimming pool , 100+

the property was nice a it has a gorgeous pool and has a private beach; however the property needs to be repainted, elevator’s flooring needs to be fixed, facilities in rooms such as faucets, showers need to be replaced as they are old and rusty; workers are very polite and helpful especially alberto and edwin in the dining area.

The room was clean, bed was super comfortable. excellent view. The pool was crystal clear, always.

Room could have been a bit cleaner. Found a few unwanted hairs.

Overall the hotel looks nice and clean however we arrived at 1am and walked into a room with used tissue paper and an underwear drying from the previous guest not mentioning the room was on the noisy part of the hotel and no balcony. We were then changed to another room with clog sink and toilet, it was fixed after reported. Then water from the upper guests washroom stated to droop on us while seating at toilet, was also reported and up to the moment we left no one had fixed the issue. As a smoker, I do look for hotel with designated areas and as per description "Designated smoking areas" I decided on visiting this hotel, happens that we only find out it is 100% free of any kind of smoke and vape when did our check in. On the other hand and other than the lady at check in, everyone was very friendly and attentive to make sure we were having a pleasant stay. The restaurant have some good options for breakfast and snacks, also excellent smithies. Hope you have a better room experience if decide to visit Cyan Cancun Resort & Spa!

The room smelled of mold when i first walked in. There was mold on the a/c vents that the air wasvblowing out. There was mold all alongvthe back of the sofa in the room. Mold was also behind the bathroom door..i have pictures of these complaints if needed. The staff was great. ,butvthe property was invrough shape. The cushion to lay on around pool and on beach are tornvand dont smell good..pool had a weird sheem floating on top of water

The room was horrible, sheets and robes were dirty, the faucets and lamps were filled with rust and mold, bathtub was filthy. Requested a change but the alternative was just as horrible and was costing more. My sister was becoming sick from the mold so we booked another hotel and requested a refund after a back and forth dialogue with the hotel manager she agreed to refund the money directly to expedia. We informed expedia of the situation sent proof of the correspondence including signed paperwork issued by the front desk staff at the directive of hotel management. To date we have yet to receive the refund and all we are getting is run around!

Staff was unfriendly, disorganized, rude. Went to my room smelled like marijuana, room was completely trashed, hadn’t been cleaned at all from the previous guest who destroyed the room.

Beautiful spotless infinity pool- Right on the ocean- very clean attractive rooms with balcony on ocean - excellent prompt room cleaning We ate all our meals at the hotel restaurant. Everything was quality and delicious Would definitely stay here again.

Sink in the bathroom gets clogged easily, water drain is slow. Shower area does not have a door that closes, and the bathroom floor gets flooded with water and you have to keep putting towels on the floor after shower to keep the floor dry. Toilet also takes a while to flush, i also heard the other customers complaining about the same thing.

Room could use some updating. The dresser and other furniture seemed to show its age. The toilet lacked pressure to complete a full flush. The shower head pressure was. It consistent. You can hear people moving chairs above your room. The concrete construction adds to that noise.

We were promised a suite with a sea view, a balcony overlooking the sea, and a jacuzzi, which we did get, but the room was on the ground floor next to the pool, meaning that everyone in the pool could see straight into it. This was not mentioned when booking. The balcony door could barely be closed, so anyone could have walked in if they wanted to. The room was basically clean, but worn out, the furniture was dirty from use, and the appliances were old. There was no soundproofing, so all the noises from the neighboring rooms and hallways could be heard and kept us awake. Draining the bathtub upstairs sounded like an airplane.

The pool was nice. The food at the restaurant was outstanding but service was horrible. It took 30 min to get coffee and another 30 to get our breakfast. Originally the room they put us in had a blinking light, no balcony and smelled awful. They moved us once I showed them my confirmation which included a balcony. Chipped paint everywhere, dirty walls and doors, leaking shower. Bed was comfortable. I brought a white noise machine thankfully, otherwise it would have been very loud. This is definitely a budget hotel and the pictures far outweighed the reality.

Room was right on the Gulf/Caribbean sea view. Has a huge balcony to watch morning sun rise. Has an awesome Infiniti pools restaurant on the pool deck. Just that the building looks little dated but being on ocean front the salt water does lot of damage. , understandable. Room is very spacious with nice bathroom. Ac was not working due to thermostat but tampon they fixed it.

The property is about 15 minutes away from the airport and right in front of the beach. It has a nice size infinity pool. The location it's a little far from where all the clubs and shopping area so you need transportation to get there. There a good restaurants close by. The only negative things that I can say about Cyan Resort is that it needs maintenance like a paint job, inside our room the shower and the bathroom sink were clogged. For the price, it is worth it in my opinion. The majority of the time we were out exploring and going to different activities.

It would be 5 stars but the wifi was spotty in the rooms and around the property. Other than that, it was great staying here! Good staff, wonderful food, nice pool with ocean view and attentive staff!!!

Desde que llegue hasta el dia que salimos estuvo exelente A excepcion de un modulo que esta a un lado de recepcion (que nada tiene que ver con el Hotel) te ofrecen paquetes por un precio y luego te cobran otro mas alto a tu tarjeta de credito y luego no quieren honrar el precio original. si vas agarrar un tour estas personas no son nada recomendables. respecto al hotel en si, son todos muy amables especialmente Brenda en recepcion y Guillermo el Bell boy. durante nuestra estancia todos los dias iva el personal de limpieza a limpiar el cuarto y cambiar sabanas. esta a pasos de la playa con excelente vista al mar.

I was given the wrong room upon arrival. I paid for a room with a king sized bed and was given two full sized beds instead. When I was told to come the next day, the staff had a terrible attitude with me and were extremely unfriendly. When I finally got to my room, it looked nothing like the pictures. The whole room was filthy and full of stains on all the furniture. The entire building is old and needs a lot of maintenance. The elevators were rusty and felt unsafe to be in. Overall I had a terrible experience at this establishment and will not be coming again.

Check-in process was late. Checkout process was straight up rude. Restaurant staff all good The room needs repair. Toilet would not flush. Seat is worn and dirty. Towels did not seem super fresh

Even been physically threatened by staff? If not and you feel you are missing out, stay at the Cyan Cancun "resort and spa" They have some ridiculous policy of having to check the room before you can check out? I told them I was running late for an international flight and they had 4 minutes until my uber showed up and I started walking out. They had a security guy follow me out saying I couldn't leave yet. I told them I was leaving as soon as my ride arrived, then they brought in a second security guy trying to block my exit. Essentially trying to threaten me physically if I left. again told them they now had 3 minutes to check the room and essentially begged them to physically touch me. I've never stayed at a place that has this policy that they must check the room before I'm allowed to leave. I left my room cleaner than it was when I checked in (not terribly difficult to acheive) and they had my card on file so I wasn't worried about them checking the room, but why? this is NOT a policy I've ever encountered. Don't let the pictures fool you, the pool is nice but the rest of the hotel is an absolute dump. Disgusting and dirty and the food at their "restaurant" was completely inedible. To call itself a resort is laughable. I'll never stay there again and I'll make sure to send this review on every site I can. I travel to resorts all over the world and this was a motel at-best. But facilities aside, for their staff to threaten me if I left before rm inspection?

Staff at front counter, are extremely rude. Building is suffering from neglect, rooms are just a place to rest your head. The room furniture was all on a lean. Everything is an up charge from the bottle of water to the coke in the fridge to having someone come visit.

Great place! We love pur vacation there! The girl Ana in the reception was amazing. The place was super clean and staff friendly. Highly recommended

The property is good but it needs some fixing and updates. The building needs painting. The beach beds need to be replaced since they are broken and in bad condition. The food in the restaurant is not the best and there should be more choices. The property is in a great location with easy access to public transportation and close to the airport and great attractions. One great thing about it is the safety ,staff and the attention given to guests.

Hotel was a last minute stay, but was worth it. I would say 2 or 3day minimum. Staff was cool, not many speak English. Hotel elevator was under construction, one side worked but its tiny. While on your vacation the last thing you want to hear is banging in the morning while your trying to sleep in! The hotel restaurant was clean, food was okay. The hotel pool was nice probably the best thing there. The private beach had seaweed but they do try to clean it in the morning. Overall the stay was okay for what we needed, its not over the top but very affordable & nice enough to enjoy yourself. There is a XoXo convenient store across the street, they sell tacos, hot dogs, chips, beer all the snacks. I would stay there again.

Maintenance is the main word here.This hotel used to be the Bel air hotel which open in 2006. very normal for Cancun to change names, owners etc… and then reopen as a” new place” but here you’ll find yourself going back in time to an old hotel with older facilities, missing items in menu and a top front line beach access.For a 1 night stop before going to A close by island is ok.For a whole vacation experience, it’s not my type of place but I must mention that the beach is beautiful and pretty isolated due it’s location in Punta Nizuc, far from hustle and bustle of Cancun.Now, since it’s an old hotel with a new name,they’re old style rooms so they are big ( old doors, old balcony window lock not working, small balcony no chairs but…View from room is astonishing and to sleep with window open listening to the waves crash makes u forget the sink fosset don’t drain or the tacos in restaurant at 5 dollars are kids size. At least there is an Oxo convenience store across the street which save my late night jet lag hunger with some ham and fake cheese ( yes fake, it’s even advertised on the label) croissants that you can heat in a microwave. There is really nothing in the proximity so be aware. If youre not picky, this is a good stop.Personnel is friendly, thank you guys.

Excellent location and good staff. I believe i saved lots of money by not staying in Crystal where sales team is behind you to buy membership and packages. Actually I visited Crystal hotel for one tour during my stay at Cyan. Hence i am comparing both.

The property is about 15 minutes away from the airport and right in front of the beach. It has a nice size infinity pool. The resort was nice and the only interaction we had with the staff was the front reception whom she was nice and Chris was fast. However the food at the restaurant in the resort was ok and should be improved. The service at the restaurant was slow and had to ask several times for a toast (perhaps the server forgot)

Un hotel chico, limpio y muy bien ubicado. La relación precio calidad es muy buena en cuanto a hospedaje. Podría mejorar el restaurante, lo único que recomiendo es el desayuno. Tiene un Oxxo enfrente que es un súper plus.

Bodde här en natt innan vi skulle flyga hem och hotellet ligger relativt nära flygplatsen så det var praktiskt. Hotellet känns ganska gammalt och slitet, tråkigt och slitet rum men ganska rymligt. Poolområdet är väldigt fint och ligger precis vid den fina stranden nedanför och invid poolen ligger hotellets restaurang. Vid frukosten är man tyvärr tvungen att sitta ner vid ett bord och beställa det man vill äta och dricka istället för att det är en frukostbuffé. Så det gäller att man inte har bråttom eftersom det inte var någon vidare fart på personalen, som var ganska buttra och oengagerade. Vi åt även lunch i restaurangen och den var ganska god. Personalen i receptionen och lobbyn var dock trevlig. Snett tvärs över gatan låg en fisk- och skaldjursrestaurang som var något utöver det vanliga, både matmässigt och själva utförandet/lokalen, den rekommenderas verkligen! ligger
