Riu Palace Las Americas - All Inclusive - Adults Only

This place is beautiful. I felt very safe, the food is amazing! Lots of choices. My favorite was the swim up bar. In case you don’t know, there’s a convenience store (Farmacia Guadalajara) and like a 7/11 (OXXO) right in front! Clubs are like 10 minutes walking. There’s another RIU right next door, the club in there has great music! Will definitely come back

We had an ocean view room but on the 3rd floor the balcony blocks the view so the only way to enjoy the view is to stand. So we paid for a view that we couldn’t enjoy. The bed accessories were stained and there were no blankets. When they brought us the requested blankets, they were dirty. The beach is very small and it feels very crowded. The breakfast was fantastic, lunch was good and dinner was passable. The staff was excellent.

This RIU is wonderful for entertainment. There is something to do every night in the hotel and the RIU parties (which they provide a free shuttle). The rooms are large and extremely well maintained. Service is great from the time you arrive. Food and drinks are always available. This was a great stay!!

I have stayed here several times and although I’m supposed to be Expedia premium I never get any perks. I had to pay for a room upgrade which was a bad experience as the fridge and ac in the room was really loud. Several other guests also told me about their noisy fridges. It was too much hassle to move room again. Gym is really old, treadmills not working properly and limited weights. Bar staff by busy pool are rude. Guy who brings drinks to you keeps forgetting to bring the order. I will not be back. I do like Riu, there’s a new one in construction in Cancun so I will wait for that to open.

To rate Riu Las Americas with only 5 stars should be a crime, the resort was exceptional from beginning to end! There was so much to do from nightly activities to the signature Riu theme parties which the Riu provides free shuttles to. The hotel is virtually spotless, and the staff is extremely kind and helpful. We are planning on returning in April 2026 and would not think of staying anywhere else.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The staff was friendly, the service was great, and the resort was very clean. The property has an old-world, colonial style, so it may feel more traditional than modern, but that’s part of its charm. Some furnishings could use small updates, and the beds could be a bit more comfortable, but overall everything was fine. My only real complaint is that pool and beach chairs fill up quickly, so you have to get out early if you want a good spot. Otherwise, I had a great experience and would return.

I wish the gym is opened 24 hours or that it closes late at about 10pm or midnight to give more time for guests to workout.

It's so clean and all foods at all restaurants are fantastic. The lounge opens 24 hours and coffee station with full of cakes/sandwiches from 7am to 11pm that's awesome !

The staff were fantastically friendly and very helpful. The pools were perfect temperature. The staff playing games around the pool were so much fun. I ate so much food. Will go again!

If you were sitting anywhere on the property, the lobby, the pool, the beach, someone will be along within a few minutes asking if you would like something to drink. The restaurants were fantastic. Good looking and comfortable. The food was absolutely delicious. We were never disappointed. We have been to five other Riu hotels and this one had the best food.

The staff stood out the most. Every staff was helpful, friendly and made our stay memorable. The rooms were clean and the view amazing. The food was amazing and the beach was beautiful. Everything thing was amazing!

Great location on the beach. There was always en employee around cleaning something. The only worthy restaurant was Black & White; every other food item was sub-par quality. The staff was friendly and helpful.

When I first checked in they had mold in my room and the room wasnt clean stains on the pillow cases and sheets then they moved me to another room. That room had views to the ocean. After my 3rd day there I noticed 2 water bugs that came out of the power sockets in my room above the mini fridge.

Great hotel, quiet and beautiful but it’s older and the hallways/ rooms need a refresh. Specifically the carpet in the hallways smell like mildew and the room amenities are dated and tarnished. Food at the Buffett was pretty good. Can go to their other hotels for the day for free if you want upgraded amenities like Riu Caribe which is what we did, it’s a $4 uber ride to get there. I would stay at Riu again but maybe not this location.

Very disappointed with this resort. The 3rd floor, including my room (336) reeked of musty odor, mold, mildew. The sofa and bedding in the room were damp during my entire stay. I kept my clothes in the suitcase because they were damp and started to smell like the room. There's no fan in the bathroom to reduce the humidity from the shower; adding to the wetness. Once I checked in I read the reviews from another site and MANY mentioned this issue. When I first raised the issue, a Housekeeper came and sprayed deodorizer to mask the odor. Lasted 20 minutes. I tried to discuss with the manager and he basically "blew me off" and gave me a gazillion excuses. Anyone with breathing issues should definitely stay away from this resort. You could die in this resort. When I requested a humidifier, the manager indicated there was only one for the entire resort and I needed to make a reservation to use it. The manager also suggested that on my next visit I should get a room away from the ocean as that may solve the problem. There will be no next time. The manager was rude, unprofessional, and not worthy of his position or title. The food was mediocre; leftovers from days before, and covered with flies. It was not uncommon to have a bird perched on the table while you were eating. Highly suggest someone conduct a "ghost" visit to the resort to review these concerns. Remember, there are many reviews mentioning the same issue. Definitely not worthy of the rating on Expedia.

The wife and I went to Cancun for the first time and this hotel was recommended to us, since it was an all-inclusive hotel and adults only. We upgraded to an ocean view room which was a good call. The room itself was large and clean. Overall the property it ok, the beach and pool were amazing. Staff was nice, helpful, and kept the place clean. Some thoughts. Overall the good was good. Not amazing, just good. )The exception was the breakfast buffet, which was very good.) The air conditioning in the room was weak and did not work very well. We report it, but it never got better.

Room was clean. Very nice ocean view. Everyone was very accommodating.

I loved the facility, the only problem i encountered was the air-conditioning wasn't cold enough.

Liked, Perfect beach, specious room, very polite and friendly staff. Disliked, Room was very noisy. There were several turbo vents in front of our unit. Up all night listening to these fans roar. Toilet was leaking. The worst was the shower. Absolutely no water pressure. Had to fill up a bucket (slowly) to rinse off the shampoo.

Rooms need additional power and USB outlets. On this day and age, it's unacceptable not to have outlets near each bedroom side.

Plenty of restaurants and options for food. It is a spectacular hotel. Very clean rooms but could use a little updating and not enough outlets at all. Staff were wonderful!

Amazing stay at Riu Palace Las Américas! The staff’s service was exceptional from the moment we checked in. The beach is breathtaking—turquoise, crystal-clear water—and the food quality was impressive at every restaurant. Yes, the rooms are beginning to feel a little dated, but it didn’t take away from the experience. For the service, food, and value, it’s a solid 5-star rating. Well done, Riu Palace Cancun!

Wonderful service!

The hotel overall was one of the very best I have stayed at. I would like to shine the spotlight on the staff. From Pablo at the front desk, the baggage handlers, especially Grizelda who cleaned our room, to the guys raking the beach in the morning, all the restaurant staff that made dining a pleaure..The staff were stars and helped make our 6 days staying at the Hotel Riu Palace Las Americas an overall fantastic experience.

Staff today when I left the guy in the door was pretty rude to me and the driver that came to drop me off to the airport 9/29 at 8 am he even lied to the driver saying I hadn’t checked out when I did and told him my name luckily I went outside and the driver asked rather then that great experience

Room was very clean. Room service was very nice, Room service came every-time we asked and did a wonderful job. Never saw any sort of bugs or anything like that around the property. Staff was super friendly and accommodating. Staff always walking around checking in if you need a drink, more towels. We had them knock on our doors multiple times and offered to refill our mini fridge and give us new towels. Breakfast, lunch and dinner had a wide variety and the food was delicious. Lots of different restaurants, we didn’t even get to try them all. They have a 24 hour lounge you can visit anytime of the day and a coffee bar that opens at 7am. This was super nice when we woke up early or stayed out late. Never boring, always something was going on, party, music, to games and shows. Location of this place is amazing. Beach was right on the property and there was lots of shopping centers and shops on the street side. The staff was clearing up the beach as well and getting all the seaweed off the beach early in the mornings. I would definitely stay here again and recommend this resort to others.

The staff was all great, especially in the steakhouse and the Japanese restaurant. Bartenders all great. My only complaint was the check in. It went fast and very friendly, but I didn’t know. I’d have to pay a tax on top of the original charge

Food was amazing. View was amazing. Pool was clean and enough chairs. Beach was clean. Easy 5 min walk to downtown cancun.

My family and I love this property, we come back every year. Great drinks and service, good food, great bars and amenities, perfect part of the beach where there’s less seaweed and waves, nearby/walking distance to other Rius for the white/pink/neon parties, and also walking distance to Coco Bongo for fun nights out. Overall perfect locale.

We had a great stay at the hotel, the staff was incredible, and the hotel amenities are amazing hotel. They have several restaurants, and bars right onsite, you won’t even need to leave the hotel. We were ablle to visit the other RIUs in the area for free, and use their amenities too. Great stay!

Location and beach

Excellent staff and customer service but because of the Jet ski activity in front of the hotel beach we could smell gasoline all the time at beach in addition to their noise while trying to relax at the beach. Food was good. Hotel restrooms and area was nice and clean. Beach showers barely had water.

The staff was extremely kind and friendly! We loved the dinner options. They were very high quality and had great flavor. We also loved the caramel lattes at cappuccino cafe! Highly recommend this resort!

A top-notch resort overall! The room was very clean, amenities were great, and staff were so friendly. The beach was really lovely. One of the best experiences I have had at a resort.

Best hotel ive ever stayed at. Ive nver done the all inclusive before so didnt know what to expect. Room service was top notch and the restaurants were some of the best ive eaten at. I do frequent steakhouses here in the states and krystal tops them.

I don’t like how quickly you all stop taking reservations for the steakhouse each night. It took me 3 nights to finally get on a wait list to dine there. Unacceptable.
