This hotel is in a great location in Bloomsbury, but tucked away on a quiet street. The public areas are relaxed and comfortable and the outside space is fantastic. The bar and restaurant are perfect for the type of hotel. The rooms are very comfortable and well decorated, and the bathrooms are clean with plenty of amenities. I will return.

Very cute hotel in a great location near a park, restaurants, museum. The hotel was not notified about our VIP "perks" and when asked they needed to contact Expedia, once that happened we received a small bottle of wine and they were able to upgrade our room for three of our five nights (which was a wonderful room!) Breakfast was quite nice and there were a couple of nice lounge areas where we enjoyed resting after busy days! They also had a nice courtyard where we enjoyed a bottle of champagne that we brought with us from France (the patio was not too clean, however, we had to wipe off the chairs and table prior to our use but once that was done it was very peaceful and comfy!)

Feels like being a guest in a beautifully maintained city home. Staff is friendly & helpful. A pleasant outdoor courtyard is great for a drink or your dinner. There are many stairs, and no lift but staff will bring your luggage up & down for you. I would return to this comfortable personal hotel again and again.

We have stayed in many hotels and found The Academy to be just like a small, family run hotel. It was excellent. The staff could not have been friendlier and more helpful, particularly Felix and the ladies in the breakfast room. The bar and garden are beautiful and the room was spacious, spotlessly clean and the bed very comfortable. We would not hesitate to stay again.

Overall nice boutique hotel, friendly staff, nice breakfast and convenient location. Main issue was not keeping up with amenities (room service and bar/wine items). Regardless, we enjoyed our stay!

Lovely boutique, independent hotel walkable to the University of London, parks and "Store Street" of Bloomsbury around the corner--local cafes, wine bars and restaurants. The staff at this hotel was courteous and helpful. The library and back garden were extra bonuses. Highly recommend this hotel for a stay in London.

Reception staff were really helpful and when we were given a room on the 3rd floor were happy to move us as the stairs were very steep and narrow. There isnt a lift. Breakfast was very nice and service excellent. Bar service wasnt very good and a very very small space. It was nice but i wouldnt stay again and for the price we were very disappointed.

My second time to stay in the hotel, I really like the vibe and the location is Great. Si Easy to get to from TCR tube station. 10min Walk. The rooms are compact and you have to climb a few sets of stairs to get there about 4 or 5 flights to my room. Last Time I was on ground floor, but no big deal at the same time. Full sized bathroom with shower 🚿 nice bar and courtyard area outdoor for summer drinks. Got complimentary drinks as I didn't get one last time because there was a slight delay with my room last time. Complimentary soft drinks mini bar and Continental breakfast in the morning which is nice. Coffee ☕ or tea ☕ and usual cereal 🥣 and pastries 🥐 etc. really Nice.

Overall, a very comfortable stay with a very comfortable bed, clean linen and towels. However, the en suite was probably one of the smallest I have ever had to use. As a 5ft 4" size 10 lady, I could only sit sideways on the toilet and struggled to get in the shower then close the door. The air conditioning could not be set below 19 and was incredibly loud. There were also water stains on the carpet/curtains which I wouldn\'t usually expect in an SLA property. The biggest issue for me though is that on check-in, I was asked for my physical credit card so the staff member could take an advance of £30 from my account in case of damages. This wasn\'t a notional but an actual payment. When I later asked who would make the decision on whether or not there had been any damage, I was told that this wasn\'t the case, it was in case of theft or use of mini bar and that I would be refunded within 5 days. So the hotel took £30 from my current account and I am now waiting for a refund.

Unfortunately the room was very noisy, and noisy residents. The air conditioner and fire alarm had very bright lights making it difficult to sleep. And a musty smell in bathroom.

If you like staying in a small hotel, this is a nice one. It's particularly good for theater lovers as you can walk home in the evening after seeing a show. It is very clean. The single rooms are very small--no place to put my suitcase for example--and the breakfast just passable. And yet I would stay again.

Got stuck in London on am unexpected overnight layover. Foe the price, room was nice, comfortable and more or less clean (bitnof a mildew smell in the bathroom). The two best thi gs about this place is the service and location.

The hotel is attractive and well-maintained. The staff is excellent: helpful, friendly, and very professional. High marks to the house-keeping staff, the front desk, and the breakfast servers. I deliberately chose the hotel so that I could walk back and forth to the British Museum. Other significant museums were easily available by public transportation, Uber, or cab. Some shopping is available on Tottingham Road, near-by. More extensive shopping and vibrant nightlife are found in other parts of town.

On the down side, I was on the top floor with no lifts and lots of stairs although this is to be expected in this type of old building. Also, there was insufficient room to actually open my suitcase on the floor so had to rearrange some furniture. On the plus side, the hotel is well positioned close to tube stations and easy walking up to Euston Road or down to New Oxford St and beyond. The thing I found exceptional however was the quality of the staff both individually and their collective cohesion. Really first class from my experience - well done!

Nice hotel, good location. Room was far too hot & therefore made sleeping difficult. Would stay in double room next time as single was far too small and bed not as comfortable as I’d hoped. Friendly staff as well as decent breakfast.

AC unit started leaking water. Staff quickly fixed the issue and offered another room. Two days later it leaked again. Moved to a new room with more space, but no bathroom sink space and right below the street. In the new room cars, motorcycles and people were noisy throughout the night. Not the hotels fault, just try to get a room not located next to the street. Great location Walking distance from shopping, stores and broadway shows.

Shoutout to Felix, Doran, Amila and seriously the entire team (not all names I caught but you are here). Convenient work and sitting areas. Lovely outside patio and bar. Rooms really comfortable (big fan of Elemis so thumbs up there). Thank you will definitely be back.

The Academy hotel is very cozy and it is beautifully decorated. The rooms are comfortable, and the breakfast is absolutely wonderful. It is located in a very nice neighborhood with pretty much walking distance to main attractions London has to offer. There is also plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from. The staff is wonderful! They are very responsive and making sure you have a wonderful stay. Highly recommend it!!

Staff were fabulous. Had an issue with my room and they couldn’t have been more understanding in moving me. Breakfast was tasty, with plenty of options. Near Warren Street underground, an easy walk to Leicester Square, and Store Street just around the corner for wonderful independent coffee shops and wine bars. Would stay again!

Friendly and helpful staff. We checked in very late at night and got a very small room with difficult access in the lower floor. We asked for a change of room and the next we were moved to much nicer and larger room. The staff was very helpful to accommodate our request

The property was quite a long walk from Tottenham Ct tube station. The fire alarm went off in the middle of the night and I had a difficult time getting back to sleep. I do not know why they would be working on it when it might disturb guests. I have been double charged for my bar bill and it is still unresolved.

Very comfortable stay. Very good breakfast. Good location and within walking distance to many sites. Encountered a problem with the plumbing in my room and was immediately offered another room which was an upgrade. Outstanding.

David was incredibly helpful and the staff overall was very friendly. A great location thats within walking distance to many locations and walking distance to multiple train lines as well.

Great location - 15 mins from Covent GArden. Lovely room , with plenty of space, sofa and lovely shower. Staff attentive and a very nice continental breakfast. Breakfast staff in particular were lovely.

My second time to stay in the hotel, I really like the vibe and the location is Great. Si Easy to get to from TCR tube station. 10min Walk. The rooms are compact and you have to climb a few sets of stairs to get there about 4 or 5 flights to my room. Last Time I was on ground floor, but no big deal at the same time. Full sized bathroom with shower 🚿 nice bar and courtyard area outdoor for summer drinks. Got complimentary drinks as I didn't get one last time because there was a slight delay with my room last time. Complimentary soft drinks mini bar and Continental breakfast in the morning which is nice. Coffee ☕ or tea ☕ and usual cereal 🥣 and pastries 🥐 etc. really Nice.

This hotel is in a great location in Bloomsbury, but tucked away on a quiet street. The public areas are relaxed and comfortable and the outside space is fantastic. The bar and restaurant are perfect for the type of hotel. The rooms are very comfortable and well decorated, and the bathrooms are clean with plenty of amenities. I will return.

Disappointing for a a small luxury hotel. Place was in ok shape and the room we had was good but it felt more like a B&B rather Than a hotel The breakfast included was really miserable Two types of store bought salami , same with packet cheese, hard boiled eggs cereal and good bread. A hot breakfast is 15 pounds extra Not good enough for a luxury hotel.

Moved me into a single room (which felt like a closet) because of overbooking. Did give me a credit and also moved my 2 friends into an attic room. Closed the bar early the first night we were there which was a bit disappointing as my friends had arrived late from different parts of the world. Breakfast was delicious, the service was very good and the staff friendly. Lounge areas very comfortable and location was great.

We were not offered a room upgrade, per VIP status. Bring UK adapters because the hotel may run out to offer any to you. Room was clean. Intern continental breakfast was good (croissants, toast, ham, cheese, cold cuts, coffee, tea, fruit, juice). Not centrally located to touristy sites but hotel is in a nice quiet area, near the British Museum (very cool. Free. Go check it out)

Reception staff were really helpful and when we were given a room on the 3rd floor were happy to move us as the stairs were very steep and narrow. There isnt a lift. Breakfast was very nice and service excellent. Bar service wasnt very good and a very very small space. It was nice but i wouldnt stay again and for the price we were very disappointed.
