Pro. Great location, nice breakfast and great value for money. Given a couple of vouchers for free frings which was a nice touch. Cons. The room was a little tired and the bar staff seemed a bit grumpy. I ordered drinks and literally no words spoken by barman at all which was a little odd. Overall a great experience and served our needs well for a short, affordable stay. Would highly recommend

We had a lovely 2 night stay and the hotel was everything we could wish for. Check-in and check-out was easy, a baggage storage room helped so we could enjoy time out and about without luggage. Breakfast was perfect with lots of choice, the room was great and the bed very comfy. The bar area was lovely for a night cap too! Great staff and a great stay, highly recommend.

We had a roof terrace room and it was delightful to be able to sit outside. The bed was very comfortable which was good as we stayed for 4 nights. We found the staff were very welcoming and friendly and helpful. They made our stay special for us as we were celebrating our Ruby Wedding Anniversary. We enjoyed breakfast and the couple of evening meals in the restaurant. We will stay at this hotel again. It is very convenient for the tube.

It was an excellent stay. The hotel, bar and restaurant were lovely and the facilities and little extras included made it a great stay. Right next door to Tower Hill, it was a great location. Highly recommend and would stay there again.

We stayed for one night and it was absolutely perfect for what we needed. The property was easy to find when we got off the tube at tower hill - it was maybe a 5 minute walk. Our room was ready early when we arrived at about 1230 which was a total delight after travelling overnight. The room was well appointed with two twin beds, a small desk area and a roomy bathroom. Amenities were above and beyond! The beverage setup was incredible with everything to make coffee, espresso, hot chocolate and even a gin and tonic. Breakfast in the morning was wonderful - a full hot menu ordered a la carte as well as a cold buffet and espresso machine. I feel like we definitely got our moneys worth and would definitely stay again.

The room had lots of little extras, bottled water, milk, tea , coffee, chocolate, toiletries, fridge, also a bathtub and separate shower. Very big balcony with table chairs and 2 sunbeds.

Staying at the chamberlain hotel.the staff are very good.very polite and helpful room is very clean breakfast, excellent good choice. Only minor. Detail was the carpet in our room. Was a little threadbare. And slight rust on taps in bathroom. Apart from that, stay was excellent, will use again.

We didn't like the hotel even though we stayed here a few years ago and it was ok. The first room we got on the ground floor with a view of the outside staircase with a mess and the room was noisy and vibrated due to the passing subway every 5 minutes, we asked for a change of room, it was a better room, it was clean, but the bathroom was dirty and unmaintained. For the price you pay in London this hotel is a joke. Breakfast is served in a strange and chaotic way.

Room was clean except for some stains around the drain in the shower. Despite us hanging our towels up to be reused, they were changed. Good coffee and nice chocolate in the room. Complementary water and milk provided.

The hotel was lovely, the room was spacious and very clean, great size bathroom. The bed was extremely comfy. The breakfast was excellent, a great choice and everything was fresh. The staff were amazing, friendly and polite, nothing was too much trouble. Perfectly situated to get around London easily by train or on foot. Would highly recommend and will definitely stay here again.

The room was spotless clean and unfortunately the hotel did not let me know it was an accessible room the mirror and sink was too low but luckily it was for only 1 night. The staff were excellent and hard working and very helpful

Our room was very spacious for a European hotel but we did inform the staff that there were a lot of moths and bugs in our room. In 1 night we killed over 10! We did tell staff about it during our stay with pictures but nothing was done in terms of moving us to a different room or compensation. The bed and pillows were not especially comfortable but wasn't awful. We paid for breakfast in our room rate but unfortunately didn't get to utilize it because the hours changed due to the bank holiday. The hotel is walkable to 2 tube/train stations and to the tower of london/london bridge. Overall, enjoyed our stay but not sure we'd stay here again due to the bug issue.

The Chamberlain is a very safe, smaller hotel in a great location conveniently located within walking distance to either Aldgate or Tower Hill tube station. The people are friendly, the rooms are nice and clean and the food at the restaurant is delicious. I would definitely stay there again.

I stayed in one of the suites with the roof terrace which was great to relax on and a bonus in London, but is overlooked by an office which was a bit weird during the day but no problem of an evening, room was great and the bed super comfy

Very comfortable rooms ,still very fresh after refrb..great breakfast options.Our room was a bit hot and windows didn't open so rather stuffy. We had the same room aslast time and it has the same problems...have had other rooms here which are far nicer

Great hotel, fab location, staff are very helpful and knowledgeable on the surrounding areas. Breakfast was excellent and the coffee was spot on. Couldn’t fault it. Had a great couple of nights, they done some balloons for my daughters birthday which was lovely. Mini fridge in room with water and milk was a big bonus! Nespresso coffee machine in room, shortbread and tea! If we come back to London we would certainly look to stay again.

Would return! Very impressed with our stay; positive interactions with staff and rooms are decent- nice decor. Breakfast was nice and I’m happy with the amenities in the room - coffee maker and seating area. Only improvements would be the size of bed, too small for 2 people really - must have been a double! And water temperature was a bit funny, warm then scolding throughout shower. Issue with kettle too - previous guest or cleaner had left it on with no water, so it was getting hot, then ticking loudly and continuously did that every 30 mins throughout the first night. The next night, decided to investigate and realised - could have been very dangerous! Thank goodness it was recognising the temp and switching itself on and off. We did mention this at reception, but she didn’t get it.

This is the sort of hotel where I really would like to give it 9/10. It's as close to perfect as I have found in London below a premium price point. It's really well situated, close to two tube stations and I could get to my office in Soho in just over 30 minutes. The bed was super comfortable and the sound insulation was excellent. The service was really good. One of the days my wife didn't leave the room until after midday and the room was still made up for us on our return. Normally I really don't like it when I'm forced to take a breakfast inclusive rate (I couldn't get a room only rate) and I'm generally happy to pick up a croissant on the way to work. But the breakfast here is simply the best compulsory breakfast I have ever had in London. It was superb and the service was excellent. Only minor gripes stop me giving The Chamberlain 5 stars. First, there were only 4 coathangers in the wardrobe and the clips that held them on the rail were plastic and falling to pieces, meaning that it was difficult to keep the hangers on the rail. The lighting in the bathroom was just awful for putting on your makeup and there was no alternative in the room. There is a light over the mirror but it is very dim and doesn't have it's own switch so you can't switch the very bright overhead light off. And the shower is great except that the temperature was inconsistent, which was annoying. But I would absolutely come here again.

The Chamberlain is an exceptional hotel with attention paid to every detail in the room, with the staff, the renovation, the convenience and the food. The staff, in particular in the restaurant (looking at you Liam!), were so friendly and helpful, it felt like a family experience with how they got to know us and our needs. Undoubtedly one of the best hotels in London. Made our stay so special.

I was extremely disappointed about the service. We arrived late as we caught a train and were excited to arrive. The staff were completely ambivalent and indifferent in the bar. They then switched off the music and turned on the lights. £250 a night for such indifference and ineptitude. No milk in the room on the second night. I called reception and was told curtly to come down for some. Really? Fullers aren’t hoteliers. Stay at a hotel, save your money.
I was extremely disappointed about the service. We arrived late as we caught a train and were excited to arrive. The staff were completely ambivalent and indifferent in the bar. They then switched off the music and turned on the lights. £250 a night for such indifference and ineptitude. No milk in the room on the second night. I called reception and was told curtly to come down for some. Really? Fullers aren’t hoteliers. Stay at a hotel, save your money.

The staff were amazing and they went above and beyond to help. I asked to leave my bags before checking in time and left them after check out . The hotel is conveniently located if you’re not driving. The breakfast was amazing as well . Close to the underground and bus station. I highly recommend and will definitely come back 😁

Great hotel. Tried to check-in 1/2 hour early but the girl on reception just said 'no it's 3 o'clock' without even raising her head ... that apart wonderful hotel and location.

We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary at the Chamberlain hotel. The staff decorated our room with balloons and offered us a free drink. A lovely surprise! The breakfast was plentiful and the staff were friendly and polite. The only negative was the check in time was 3pm, on the dot! most hotels I’ve stayed in will let you check in before. Having said this I would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend this hotel

An excellent stay at The Chamberlain for a weekend trip. Location very convenient for underground and DLR. Lovely service from the staff. Room was clean and included lots of little extras. Excellent breakfast to set you up for a busy day exploring the capital.

Great friendly hotel is a perfect location. Just 5 min walk to Tower of London. The room was nice,clean a spacious with complementary tea, coffee and water. The was large which not only had a shower cubicle but also a full size bath. We had a twin room the beds were nice,big and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and perfect for us. If I was to make one negative comment it would be that the quilt on the bed was too heavy for the summer. Although we did have air conditioning it was still hot under the thick quilt. Overall we had a fantastic stay and will definitely be returning

The hotel was so well located for easy access to bus and train. Many things in walking distance. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Front desk staff were extremely helpful with directions etc. The room was very clean, quiet and comfortable. Can’t wait to return!

Great room. Great bed. Great service, great food. The only thing I can fault is the coffee at breakfast from the self service machines in the restaurant, which is pretty awful. It’s letting you down Chamberlain. Other than that one little detail, a great hotel and I will be coming back.

This is the sort of hotel where I really would like to give it 9/10. It's as close to perfect as I have found in London below a premium price point. It's really well situated, close to two tube stations and I could get to my office in Soho in just over 30 minutes. The bed was super comfortable and the sound insulation was excellent. The service was really good. One of the days my wife didn't leave the room until after midday and the room was still made up for us on our return. Normally I really don't like it when I'm forced to take a breakfast inclusive rate (I couldn't get a room only rate) and I'm generally happy to pick up a croissant on the way to work. But the breakfast here is simply the best compulsory breakfast I have ever had in London. It was superb and the service was excellent. Only minor gripes stop me giving The Chamberlain 5 stars. First, there were only 4 coathangers in the wardrobe and the clips that held them on the rail were plastic and falling to pieces, meaning that it was difficult to keep the hangers on the rail. The lighting in the bathroom was just awful for putting on your makeup and there was no alternative in the room. There is a light over the mirror but it is very dim and doesn't have it's own switch so you can't switch the very bright overhead light off. And the shower is great except that the temperature was inconsistent, which was annoying. But I would absolutely come here again.

Room was adequate. Large and clean. Very convenient for both Northern, District and Circle lines. We appreciated the nespresso machine and the addition of chocolate discs was a nice touch. Whilst the coffee was replenished the tea bags were not. I'm sure if I had notified reception earlier they would have replaced them but I didnt go to make a tea until the early hours of the morning. The service in the hotel was pleasant both at reception and the bar. Breakfast was lovely on our first day but on the second we sent poached eggs on toast back twice as they were hard boiled both times! The third lot were a little better but not much. The staff were helpful and tried to sort it out but if the chef cant poach an egg, I guess there's not much more that can be done! All in all we would stay there again but maybe not choose poached eggs for breakfast.
