The poor customer service and condition of the room are why this hotel only gets 2 stars from us. We checked in, dropped off our luggage and headed straight to the O2. Before leaving, we noticed a strong sewage smell in the room. Hoping it would clear, we left the window open and went out for the evening. When we returned, the smell was still there. With no one at reception, we had no choice but to stay in the room. Sleeping with the window open in central London made for a terrible night's sleep. The next morning, we reported the issue before breakfast. To their credit, maintenance arrived immediately and found a fault with the shower trap causing the smell. However, even after the repair, the room still smelt awful when we returned. The odour was so unpleasant that we decided to check out early. What disappointed us most was the complete lack of apology or empathy from the front desk staff. After our stay, I completed the standard feedback survey and received what appeared to be an entirely AI-generated response, giving the impression that our concerns were not genuinely acknowledged. On a positive note, the location is excellent for the O2 and ExCeL, with easy Tube access to central London, and the breakfast was faultless with plenty of choice. Overall, we left disappointed. With better room standards and a more empathetic response from staff, this could have been a much better experience.

Fire alarm went off at 6:45 on a Sunday morning causing the entire hotel to evacuate, all the guests where waiting in the road outside in there night cloths and not a single member of staff came outside to inform us it was a false alarm, some of the guests including me had to enter the building to find out what was going on, only then to be greeted by a smirking staff member saying it was a false alarm. Furthermore there was an issue with one of the exits due to building works going on meaning the guests on the second floor had to turn around and use another exit! On check out, all the guests were asking how they intended to compensate us for the fiasco, to be told we’ll get a response by email… which we did saying ‘sorry, but it wasn’t there thought’. What a joke!

We had a wonderful stay! The hotel and room was immaculate. We made use of the swimming pool and sauna, also lovely. I called ahead to organise a birthday surprise and the reception colleagues were so helpful and very attentive. A great hotel with very easy transport links to the O2 Arena.

Hotel was having some work done, so for reception you had to walk through the restaurant without clean signage and then was approached by a waiter after looking about, advising to go up to floor 1, I think a person for the hotel could welcome people and direct or register on an iPad, We had a long journey with heavy traffic and went to reception where the lady confirmed check in and advised to read the leaflet for details, again as customer service I don’t think it’s that hard to advise that breakfast is x time. On checking out, a different lady kindly registered my car, as on arrival whilst I advised that I had completed check in details with the car reg, the lady had not asked me to register the car on the other system, thankfully the lady on checkout did, which avoided a fine, even though parking payment was authorised. Breakfast was a bit chaotic, no one greeting you or checking room numbers, help yourself. Coffee machine not working properly and air con blowing high so good goes cold very quickly. Very underwhelming experience and had looked for somewhere to eat the night before and lots of people stood around talking without the customer service of welcoming to see if could help. On the plus, location was excellent for the o2 with ease to get to concert using the cable car which is discounted if going to an event and left the o2 and on a cable car and back to hotel in less than 15 mins!
