It is always a pleasure to stay at Dukes. This is a very English hotel. It is quiet, good service and staff, and very convenient location. Walkable to tube station with good lines, shopping, and major tourist sites. This is our go to hotel whenever we are in London. Don't forget to reserve the a table at the before arriving, especially if you want to try their famous martini.

Very very tired property. Needs a makeover. Disappointing when you arrive after a day’s travel to be told you can’t go to the bar because it is fully booked. You would expect you can have a drink in the bar if you are staying there.

I've stayed in Dukes before and always found it to be a friendly and comfortable hotel in a superb central location. My only small quibbles are that my room, overlooking the entrance area could be noisy when the bar emptied and secondly, that the lift on that side of the hotel is scruffy with a worn carpet and scuffed woodwork.

Two things bothered me, the first and main one is that in the hotel lobby (which is small) there is an entrance to the bar and every day dozens of people line up every afternoon and evening to get in. It's a very unpleasant feeling when you enter the hotel and have to ask people in the lobby to move in order to get into the room. The second thing is that the window in the room faces the air conditioners, so we couldn't even open it to ventilate without the terrible noise of the engines.

Lovely hotel in a great location. Staff were incredibly helpful. Room was lovely. Only issue was a light would be useful wherever and coffee making facilities are. Also Dukes bar was closed on the Sunday which was a shame. Still- highly recommended.

I have stayed at the Dukes many times in the last 15 years. It is comfortable and friendly with a certain charm. Unfortunately I feel unable to stay there again. Starting with the positive, the bed is comfortable, the rooms clean and the food good. However the hotel is tired, the lift, a quaint contraption, failed 3 times while we were there, the bathroom is a bit rough around the edges with sealant missing from joints and there is absolutely no drawer storage in the room for clothes. Beyond this it is impossible to actually experience the charm and comfort that is undeniably possible. In the drawing room there are never tables available as they are all booked by non residents, all of them, all of the time. There is a reason for this, the food is excellent, the afternoon tea to die for - but want to sit and read the Sunday paper or a book, no that isn’t possible as that table is reserved. Every time I asked for a table I was met with incredulity as if I could assume such a thing. It got tiring. Similarly with the bar, a famous martinis lounge, that also requires a reservation, so no relaxed dropping in. Quaint it most certainly is, but comfortable - not in the slightest

Charming older historic hotel. Excellent staff and lovely bar and breakfast. The concierge services are top notch. The hotel is showing some age since my stay 5 years ago and the elevators can be difficult. But I understand it will be undergoing renovation soon. All things considered it’s a terrific place with great staff. I’m glad I made it back a second time.

Their food and service is outstanding. Room was clean and nice. Only downside was was using two elevators to get to reception or restaurant because the two old structures that make up the hotel are not connected other than by stairs. Otherwise pure London experience

This was my first stay at Dukes, and really, everything about it was first rate. The service was fantastic, my room was spotless, and the hotel was in a prime location between Green Park, Mayfair and Picadilly Circus. I will definitely try to stay here on my next visit to London.

Alas poor dukes! The rooms are so sad and uncheery. Tight quarters, two tiny prints on the wall, no other art or touches of style….funerary draperies, dark maroon. The Charm has vanished. Breakfast was sub par and spotty service. We appreciated the front s desk staff but the rooms are gloomy and if you like food trays left in the halls, you can count on them.

The hotel was in a great location! The staff went over and above to help with anything we needed! Housekeeping did a fantastic job each day and the breakfast was delicious! We ordered room service the last day before heading to the airport and it was delivered hot very quickly!

London was experiencing a heat wave and the air conditioning in the room wasn’t working. The maintenance guy worked on it to no avail. Front desk would not move me to another room or even try to make up for the inconvenience in any other way. Been a loyal customer for 15 years but will not be staying here again.

Overall, the stay wasn't the best, but there were elements of the stay which I enjoyed. The location of the hotel is great, everything we wanted to do and the tube were in walkable distances, the area was nice and quiet which was also nice. The service however wasn't the best, from check-in onwards, I was questioning how this hotel is a 5-star. When we checked in we were told we were staying in the same wing as the family who had already checked in, so I walked over to that elevator, it turns out we were in the other wing, when I asked how I get to my room, I made to feel like I was the idiot for not figuring it out on my own, if you had signs, I would have. I asked if breakfast was included, but I was ignored. When trying to have a drink in the duke's bar which is meant to be famous, we were turned away because I didn't have a shirt. We're in 2024, how is this still a thing? Surely I can have a drink in the bar if I'm good enough to stay in your hotel and pay the room rate? You had no customers....who was my t-shirt going to offend? The staff? I was told I could drink in the restaurant, but at this point, I just refused to spend any more money in this hotel, I hate places which make you feel like you don't 'belong' because of a dress code. Do I understand it to an extent if you aren't staying in the hotel? Yes, but if you're allowed to stay in the hotel you should be allowed to use every area of the hotel. There is also a service charge for the room? I wasn't a fan.

Dukes is a gem. The location is fantastic and the staff is certainly the best in London. I've stayed at several wonderful hotels in London, but Dukes is my favorite. I will always choose Dukes before the other hotels.

Service and friendliness of staff are top notch. They really go out of their way to be helpful and kind. We were sad to only spend one night with them. Easy walk to Buckingham and gardens. Pubs and restaurants were less busy in this area.

I look forward to making Dukes my home when I'm in London. The hotel is charming and cozy, well situated in Mayfair. The rooms were convenient and the marble bathrooms are chic. Room service was very fast, and the concierge were friendly and professional. The front desk service was superb, and I must extend a special thank you to Lucia, Jose and Rachel for being amazing and looking after me during my trip. They made me feel special. I'd also like to express gratitude to Serena, Musa, Ujwol and Abigail at the Restaurant. They offered world-class service and attention to detail, and their delightful presence made for a remarkable breakfast every morning. Overall my experience at Dukes was fantastic, and I look forward to repeating it again and again...

Trading on its dated history! Checked in on Sunday and told the renowned bar was closed but open the following night. We asked if it was ok to visit then and left it with her for around 8pm. The lady at reception took a "preauthorization payment" of several hundred pounds which was actually not held as normal but taken from my account immediately. I questioned this and was told it would be credited back if nothing ordered in the bar or restaurant. Stayed at the hotel for 2 nights, went to the bar on Monday for the bar manger to demand a reservation number, that the woman who checked us in should have arranged! We left without trying the alleged original martini and was made to feel second class citizens in this 4 hundred + night hotel! Very disappointed in the way the bar manager handled the situation, which actually marred the break for our 35th wedding anniversary. We didn't eat in the hotel as we had already made plans weeks in advance. We checked out and after 14 DAYS I had to chase the hotel up for the refund back to my card. If I hadn't of chased the refund it wouldn't have happened! We will not be back!

Dukes London is fabulous! From the moment you arrive, you are greeted with friendliness and helpfulness. The hotel is classic and Dukes Bar is legendary. They make martinis at your table. Expensive but it’s what you would expect from an iconic spot. rooms are spacious, bathrooms large, turndown service and waters in the room. Can’t say enough about this property and the customer service. Sabrina at the front desk was the most friendly, helpful person ever and got us into the wait-list bar and restaurant and offered great suggestions on how to maximize our time in London. Location is PERFECT to see all the sights.

A block from the park and a quick walk to Buckingham. Best food we had in London. They offered a delicious (GLUTEN free upon request) afternoon tea which was decadent! The popular martini bar was good, but the staff is a bit dismissive (be sure to show your room key if you want to be served, outsiders are by reservation only).

This was our first stay at Dukes London and we had one of our best hotel experiences of many trips to London. Our room was spacious and in excellent condition. The check in staff and concierge could not have been more helpful. The restaurant GBR was also very good.

We love The Dukes! Cozy, charming and always a great experience. The Great British Restaurant is delicious and beautiful. And The Dukes Bar is a treasure (hotel guests can reserve a spot at the bar!).
