Staff were excellent - breakfast great value and lots of choice. Room was floor 5 with lift only to floor 4 which would have been an issue for less mobile guests. Otherwise location superb for Albert Hall.

Perfect location for a night at the Royal Albert Hotel - iconic bar for a few drinks before and after the show - small problem of no hot water but they gave all hotel guests an appropriate discount! We will definitely stay again if we can

A fabulous stay here. Staff extremely helpful with everything. Room was very traditional. Only thing that would have improved things was a good coffee machine that seems to be the norm in many hotels now. The gore had just a kettle (with the world’s shortest chord) and terrible sachet coffee. We were disappointed that the much heralded restaurant was closed on Mondays….which was our main day of the stay…this hadn’t been pointed out on booking. The bar however is still extremely cosy….highly recommended if very pricey. (But this is Kensington). Overall would stay again. Easy 10 minute walk to to all museums and 5 mins to Albert hall so ideal for a show.

Superb staff, great location for the Royal Albert Hall, however some issues. Firstly there are some condition issues. The biggest issue was the need to "Book" a seat in the hotel bar!! It is clear they cater to the RAH visitors, but as a paying resident I do deeply feel that this is really something you should not have to do. The room was fabulous, comfortable, very clean, but one or two condition issues (we had room 106), the most obvious were the three tiles cracked in the bathroom. Still recommended for the quality staff and location if you are seeing a show at the RAH. 10 minutes to two underground stations for access to greater London.

The suites are stunning and well appointed. Only issue in the room is that it took ten minutes for the hot weather in the shower to come through We felt the breakfast was ok but expensive The cocktail bare was excellent as were the staff who go out of their way to help you

Located by “The Albert Hall” this is a lovely hotel that still holds that old world charm. The Gore’s bar is historic and welcoming. The bartender made a custom cocktail that was the finest I’ve tasted and recommended multiple places to visit that catered to our preferences. The restaurant is upscale class with a menu to match. The entire staff were fantastic. Hope to return next year.

Good hotel and great staff and service. However, the wifi was down and there was no wifi in my room and unreliable across the hotel. This was inconvenient as I was not informed at the time of my booking. Also, the rooms were small and facing the street so quite noisy. The hotel bar and library area is good and hotel has great feel/decor.

The location was very good - loved the neighborhood. Kensington Park was just across the street. We walked through the park every day on our way to see the sights. Bathroom sink & faucets could use some maintenance. The bar and dining room were excellent, and the food was exceptionally good. The service staff in both were very attentive and friendly. We would definitely stay here again.

The Gore is an attractive building in a quiet and attractive street, within easy walking distance of The Royal Albert Hall. Inside, it is cozy and characterful, with beautiful antique furnishings and artwork. The staff are friendly, welcoming, and most helpful. Our room - one of the smaller rooms the hotel offers - was a good size and offered lots of storage space. It was very clean, beautifully and charmingly decorated, and the bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom was also clean and well appointed, although some of the sealant around the bath was discoloured and definitely in need of being replaced. We enjoyed the complimentary Penhaligon’s toiletries, however. Breakfast was good, and we enjoyed spending time in Bar 190, which has a really nice, mellow atmosphere. Overall, a very enjoyable stay.

The property is well located with great access to the Victoria and Albert Mueseum. Relatively quieter area, which we liked. The staff was friendly and helpful. The on-site breakfast restaurant was charming and the food was good. The on-site bar had great cocktail selection and preparation. We ran into trouble with our room (402) springing a significant roof leak during an evening rain storm. Water came pouring out of the ceiling light fixture around 1:00AM onto the bed. We requested an alternative room to sleep in, which was provided. The alternative room had a significant sewer smell, but it was dry. Not a good night's sleep. I'd say the property is charming and well decorated. Unfortunately, this charm comes with the challenges of an older building. I suspect maintenance-related issues are a non-trivial possibility when booking here.

The room was scruffy...peeling paint in bathroom..mould on tiles...no heating in bathroom.Heating in bedroom didn't work most of the time..so had to have an oil radiator and blanket. Furniture tired..broken drawer handle... Huge disappointment..not worth the money or the 4 stars Bed was comfortable ,towels were fluffy! Service in restaurant appalling ..took the Pre Threatre Dinner..2 hours later and didnt have the pudding which was a chocolate puddle not a chocolate delice! Preomises a lot and delivers little!

The hotel has a warm friendly feel and the Lady Blessington Room was delightful except that the shower water temperature couldn't be regulated during our stay but the bath was great. Breakfast was cooked to order and was delicious.

We were super excited to stay at the Gorge for our first stop of our Europe trip. The room and overall building had very nice decor and felt like you stepped back in time. The surrounding areas are great with a nearby park and walking distance to the tube and South Keningston. However our experience was tainted when I found a mouse in my backpack when we got back for the day. I heard scurrying noises when I laid down and when I went to my backpack I saw a mouse climb out and go under the couch. We called the front desk and they called pest control. I was very disturbed and after 5 minutes I went down to the front desk and they apologized and offered to move us to a nicer suite on a different floor. They moved our stuff right away with a bottle of champagne in our new room but I was still Shaken up. I’m disappointed they did not offer any thing else given our experience such a comped night or meal credits to their restaurant. I could tell they were shocked that this happen but for the amount of money we paid, this should not have happened given the health risk that was exposed

Avoid... the room was not habitable because of a pungent smell. The staff tried to tell me a story that the smell was because of the cleaning chemicals and that its normal is all hotels. This was an insult to my intelligence. We ended up leaving for another hotel. Even though Hotels.com were willing to cancel the booking at no charge the hotel wouldnt let me leave without paying their cancellation fee. I ended paying for two rooms that night because of the cancellation fee that hotels.com were prepared to waive. The hotel then fought my dispute of the charge with my credit card company

Another good stay, we originally started staying here for the location (very close to the Albert Hall) but now choose this when we come to London Great friendly service, and the hotel has a lot of character - its not a modern hotel so expect a few quirks and small rooms, but the decor is nice and fitting with the period Room was hot this time, but we could open a window to get some fresh air.

Only stayed for one night, as we were at a concert at the royal Albert Hall. Very convenient! The room was amazing and the bed very comfortable. my only negative, was the shower is an over the bath shower and you need to be quite fit to get into and out of it! We didn't try the restaurant, but the bar was nice and lively in the evening

Great location for the Albert Hall which is why we chose it. Helpful and friendly staff. Hotel was pricey, even by London standards and despite paying extra for the room upgrade it was still pretty small and the bed was a small double, which we could hardly walk around. The tap leaked in the bathroom and every time the toilet flushed water sprayed everywhere. There was no separate shower and instead it was over a bath and there was no screen but instead a tatty shower curtain so we did not use. Parking was a 5 minute walk and cost an additional £45. Breakfast was good and service the same, although a slight mishap when my partners breakfast was spilled over me, although it was quickly cleared away and staff were most apologetic.

Main window was difficult to close as bolts were broken which was a problem as the room was immediately above a very noisy bar. Noise continued until 1.00am when we were finally able to sleep. Hotel was close to Kensington Gardens and the Albert Hall.

We had an amazing 5 night stay. Beautiful location on a pretty quiet street for London. The staff well trained, enthusiastic, kind and eager to help in any way they can. The room was absolutely lovely, with wonderful touches to make us comfortable and at home. The beds and linens are luxurious and comfortable and we seldom heard any sounds outside our room.

Great traditional style hotel with an amazing bar. Friendly staff and convenient location. Only downside is it’s getting old and for some reason they put us in our 60’s right at the back on the 5th floor, which meant climbing narrow staircases to get to our room

Another good stay, we originally started staying here for the location (very close to the Albert Hall) but now choose this when we come to London Great friendly service, and the hotel has a lot of character - its not a modern hotel so expect a few quirks and small rooms, but the decor is nice and fitting with the period Room was hot this time, but we could open a window to get some fresh air.

Our stay at the Gore was so disappointing. This was my second visit and while the property is extremely charming and the location was super, the stay was a true disappointment due to the complete indifference (bordering on rude) of the staff at reception and the evening bar team. The exception was the lovely woman server in the bar in the afternoon - perhaps she showed up at the wrong hotel because she was what one would expect. The more serious issue was the night/early am reception clerk who tried to convince us to take a taxi or uber to LGW instead of a taxi to Victoria for Gatwick Express. He said it would be 120 GBP, less than our taxi and Gatwick Express. We declined and our total cost was 40 GBP for two. We were lucky we travel frequently, but others would have been swindled. What a dreadful man and sad that the other employees are so disengaged.

Frustrating that they add a service charge to your bill as a tip, which you have to request to have removed if you don't want to pay it, and it's based on a percentage of your room rate. They said it's for things 'like cleaning' where you'd hope they pay staff well enough not to request this. I also only stayed one night, so no-one refreshed my room during my stay to make this relevant. The staff were all very friendly however and the hotel has a lot of character and super close to the RGS which is where I needed to be. I had a small balcony shared with three other rooms and the cremone bolt didn't close properly and couldn't be locked. I woke up with the windows having blown open to the balcony that two other rooms could access, so this needs to be addressed.

Our second stay at The Gore and it does not disappoint. The staff are all excellent especially George. The room was lovely, all amenities catered for. Special touches of chocolates, birthday cake & personal note from the hotel manager made the stay better. After our trip to the Royal Albert Hall we stopped into the bar, the service could have been better, we were ignored for a while & we’re not given the same attention as other guests with coasters for our drinks and napkins for our food. Breakfast was fabulous, service was exemplary, credit to the lady in charge who had it all organised. The food was lovely, hot & delicious. We will be returning to this lovely hotel, thank you.

I was so impressed with the Receptionust who completed the check-in process. (3pmish 19th Oct). She was very welcoming and professional. Advised of discounts regarding booking breakfast and had given us an upgrade to our room. When she realised it was a trip to celebrate our anniversary, she arranged for a complimentary bottle of Prosecco to be sent to the room. She was also responsible for arranging a last minute taxi as the weather was so awful - a feat in itself, as taxis were in high demand that night. Just a lovely young lady and such an asset to your front of house staff. I am only sorry I could thank her myself when checking out as she was off-duty. I would also like to mention the housekeeping lady who we met as she was just such a breath of fresh air and nothing was too much trouble. Our room was prepared and kept beautifully. We had an amazing experience at The Gore London. The staff were all amazing and treated us with kindness and respect. We were very impressed by the service on many occasions through the day & night we were there. First of all we were able to check in a little early, they even gave us a room upgrade with a bottle of chilled Prosecco waiting for us in the room. We had forgotten our phone chargers at home and they were kind enough to bring one up to our room, twice actually since we didn’t specify which we needed and at first it was the wrong type. We then ordered some food to the hotel from just eat and they kindly accepted our order at reception and even brought us a tray, plates & cutlery to eat with. All of this without even being asked or expected of them. The room was nice and clean, the bed was super comfortable and the bedding was so so soft, it actually felt like sleeping on a cloud. I am super super impressed and left the hotel feeling like a princess. That’s always a good thing, and makes me want to come back again and again.

When staying in Kensington, I always try and stay at The Gore. It’s a charming and historic hotel situated almost next door to The Royal Albert Hall. The V&A and Natural History Museum are a short walk away, as is Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens. South Kensington and Gloucester Road tube stations are around half a mile away and bus routes are plentiful. The staff at the hotel are friendly, highly professional and give great service. Highly recommended.

This is a clean, well maintained, but old fashioned hotel in an area of London that is a bit far from an Underground Station (15 min walk) - with the weather being rainy and a bit cold, I fell back on taxis, which added to the expense. I really enjoyed my staff at this hotel. Staff are really helpful and friendly. It is a great place to stay if you are going to the Royal Albert Hall. My husband and I went to a concert, and it was a 5 minute walk from the hotel to the venue. I will be staying here again for sure.

Impeccable service started us off. Room was fine size and unique. Easy walk to Kensington Gardens and train stops. Also close enough to walk to Harrods! Highly recommend this boutique hotel with impressive library-restaurant and pub. Thank you for a wonderful few days!

The location was very good - loved the neighborhood. Kensington Park was just across the street. We walked through the park every day on our way to see the sights. Bathroom sink & faucets could use some maintenance. The bar and dining room were excellent, and the food was exceptionally good. The service staff in both were very attentive and friendly. We would definitely stay here again.

The staff go the extra mile to make guests feel welcome. We especially appreciated Emma’s greetings at breakfast and Giorgio and Christian’s help at the concierge desk. The breakfast took some time and our server wasn't the nicest, didn't really match with the price, but the food tasted amazing when we first got it. No reason to deduct any stars.

Only thing that would have improved things was a good coffee machine that seems to be the norm in many hotels now. The gore had just a kettle (with the world’s shortest chord) and terrible sachet coffee. We were disappointed that the much heralded restaurant was closed on Mondays….which was our main day of the stay…this hadn’t been pointed out on booking. The bar however is still extremely cosy….highly recommended if very pricey. (But this is Kensington). Overall would stay again. Easy 10 minute walk to to all museums and 5 mins to Albert hall so ideal for a show.

A very comfortable stay at The Gore within walking distance of Knightsbridge, High Street Kensington and Gloucester Road stations. We enjoyed the old world charm and Victorian vibe, which made a change from modern hotel rooms. Very well equipped and cosy room. Staff were excellent and made us feel valued as guests. Didn’t have time to try the restaurant but will make a reservation next time. Only thing to work on is breakfast. The full English was delicious but other options were on the small side and the omelette was meagre with shavings of ham and mushroom. Otherwise, I look forward to booking again.
