Only a quick stay after a meeting in London - but hugely disappointed when I decided to eat there and took advantage of the much-publicised 'half price steak' offer. Only to be told after finishing a reasonably good fillet - that the offer was only applicable over two courses. It was late and I did not want a big meal. Over-priced for one meal (I had tap water) - way over the top, even for London. It was nothing special - the parmesan and truffle fries were poorly executed. It was just disingenuous and the brush-off I got at reception when I flagged this on leaving summed up the Malmaison attitude. Net result, a poor review (you can do better elsewhere, the breakfast was OK, but in truth, on par with Premier Inn) - and I won't likely be stepping foot in a Malmaison hotel ever again. It could have been such a better experience.

Lovely hotel. Great location by The Barbican tube station. Very easy to get around. Also very quiet. Really slow check in ! Like unbelievably slow. Room upgraded which was amazing as we did not ask for it. Shower did not get hot at all which was not great but the room was lovely apart from that. Checkout again very slow. Overall I would definitely stay again as the problems with staff did not outweigh the great location and lovely rooms.
