Royal Eagle Hotel

Excellent location 5 mins from Paddington Station. Good local restaurants nearby and reasonable typically London-Priced-Hotel Bar.

I thin the Royal Eagle is a very nice hotel. I would say that they need better the bar and the breakfast offering. The bar was less than mediocre. The building is quite beautiful but they stuck us in a room on the lower level with horrible views.

It’s a good hotel but should upgrade its facilities

Charged £10 for luggages for a group of 4 adults with 3 big and 4 small suitcases which listed on amenities

Very basic and small rooms. Could do with an upgrade in decoration. But clean, tidy and comfortable and handy as a base if you are visiting London on a short trip. Any problems we encountered were dealt with promptly and efficiently. Very friendly and helpful staff. We did not visit the bar on site as they would not accept cash.

Great location close to Paddington station. Rooms were ready early, friendly staff. No refrigerator in room and soft beds

The staff was kind and trying to be helpfull. The first room was in a really bad shape but they were able to find another one for us. Rooms on ground floor you can hear the tube under you. Rooms on 3rd floor the floors was really uneven. Terrible air in the rooms, no proper ventilation in any of the bathrooms, no cooling system, and if you are taller than 170 cm the bed is too short. And a doublebed their standard is what we would compare as 3/4 size

The property could use some updating. It’s a bit antiquated, but the location is great! It’s safe and middle of everything. The hotel doesn’t have any fridges or microwaves for rooms. Getting a bucket of ice is hit or miss, and they will nickel and dime you for everything. Breakfast is very uneventful but it’s a start. Overall I don’t love it or hate it. It’s just average.

The room that was provided B07 was in the basement. Which was very musty and very claustrophobic . The only window (if opened) had access to the public footpath hence no security. The floor was warped due to water damptness and can you believe it that the hot water kettle had to be placed on the floor in order to have the electric plugged into the eletric socket. The receptionest (Sheikh) was very courteous and apologetic but it was too late as there was no other room available. Despite its convenient location This room has to be taken of the rooblist and some serious renovations doneùy

Staff were really friendly and welcoming. The room was spotless, and had everything we needed. Beds were comfortable. We didn't have breakfast. Only 10 minutes walk to Paddington station. Would be happy to stay again.

The first room had black mold and mildew in the bathroom and made the whole room smell. The second room was Clean but extremely small. My wife and I had 2 suitcases and 1 carry on and we could not move passed each other without climbing on the bed. Very very small. Disappointing room… the location was great for the underground and buses. That was all. Wish the rooms would have been better.

I got what I paid for, a 2 -star hotel. It was what I was expecting. Old and tired property but very clean and staff were exceptionally friendly. Fan in the room much appreciated. Good TV in the room.

We allocated a room which was down below ground level. The room was sooo tiny and in need of repair with cracks in the walls, dirty marked walls, could not open or close the window, tge cold water tap would not work. In the end they had to shift us to another room. I would only rate this hotel as a 1-2 star hotel!

Hotel was clean and tidy but the room was a bit smelly! Had to keep the windows open to try to get the smell out, not sure if it was blocked sewers or something else. But the location was great and very handy for train home the next morning,

Did what it said on the tin. Cheap for London and certainly not luxurious but did the trick and was clean and comfortable.

Very disappointed with our stay. We discovered ants in the bathroom around during the night and by morning they had spread across the floor and curtains—an unpleasant and unhygienic experience. The room was also uncomfortably hot all night, with limited ventilation despite fans and a balcony door that barely opened. We had to step into the hallway to get some colder air. For £290 per night, I expected much higher standards. I’ve contacted the hotel twice through Hotels.com and also via their email on the website with no response.

Nice hotel with central position towards station and underground. Nice shops and restaurants around. Rooms are bit outdated and very warm. Open window gives much noise.

It was ok, price was right, room very small, location was good, close to park and walkable. Only thing was a I got a basement room and when subway went by you would hear it.

Great location and very helpful staff. The room was tiny and very hot. The double bed was shorter than a normal bed and one side was up against a wall making getting in and out very difficult. There was no over bed light so impossible to read in bed. Bizarrely there were dressmaking pins still sticking out of the curtain.

Im 174, and my feet went over the edge of the bed in a standard double room. And the first night the hotel had no water whatsoever so no shower, no toilets.. just wait untill tomorrow unfortunately.

One staff member was very rude, we have given a room so small, we could not open our luggage, we changed the room on the second day. No AC in the rooms

Staff was great, but rooms were SMALL. We booked a double and got a twin. No room for luggage and no way for 2 people to sit. Bathroom door could not open fully because the bed blocked it.

We were very pleased to have chosen the Royal Eagle Hotel. Very nice area, and very close to Paddington Station. The staff were very welcoming, efficient and went out of their way to assist with navigation details during our stay. The beds were so comfortable - a perfect respite following our action- filled days in London.

All good, only complaint is they charged me 50 pounds deposit in case there are damages and told me it would take within 2 weeks to get a refund, Im still waiting. Only place in London that charge a deposit.

The level of service that was provided, first a lady called nisha, which gave no good customer service at all, no smile no hello no thankyou no feelings at all. Felt like someone in her home died and shes come to work gave us a room which was right opposit the lift on 2nd floor when i went in the room i couldn't even open my big suitcase, i went downstairs and vinny and waqas were ever so helpful, always service with manners and a smile, always acknowledge when we entered or exited the hotel, they provided two room keys in which i could choose which i room i wanted. I went with the biggest which was on 4th floor. Perfect room. Everything was provided in that room. There was a small issue with the water. In the morning to have a shower before 7am the water was super hot boiling point when i mentioned it to the Reception they sent the maintenance man and he fixed it for us which was again excellent. Everyday we cleaned our room put the tag on the front of the door and they come by and clean the room. Never touch any of our belongings. Very nice cleaners staff. Excellent cleaning of room.Didn't like how we had to pay £5 for 2 bags. Other hotels keep it for free. Overall 10/10

The optional breakfast is a great way to start the day. One of the best tun continental breakfast buffets I've seen: they do not "run out" of things and are very attentive to diners as well. (An instant cup is always available in-room.) When the previous person stopped up the sink, this (and anything I asked) was taken care of immediately. The main desk and room-caregivers are to be complimented for attention. (No one made me to feel like I was bothering them: all performed their duties with a smile.) Best off all, the railway and the Underground metro lines all come within two blocks at Paddington Station--a major hub, as well as a direct "Elizabeth Line" metro to and from Heathrow Airport for a small price (compared to "the Express"). It was easy to be a tourist with so many lines from which to choose--even when a few lines were closed for weekend repairs: there was always an alternative at Paddington. There are wonderful restaurants and shops on the "main street" which are a perfect way to end the day in the neighborhood. I would gladly stay in this hotel at this location again.

Our team had an issue requiring great discretion and excellence in customer service. As well, One of our team forgot something valuable in the room and the staff took great care to contact us and safekeep it.

Short one night stay. Front counter was very welcoming and very helpful!! Helped get us going where we needed to and very helpful by keeping our bags for a few hours while we saw the city befor our plane left. I would stay there again. We had a good stay!

I had booked a room for me and my daughter. Choose option to pay at the property. Upon arrival I was told they the are no rooms available as I booked. I was very upset. As I was early in the hotel ( 2 hrs before check in to drop off my bags) I spoke to person in the reception name Sheikh . He never mentioned that there are no rooms available. I went for lunch and came in time to check in around 3:15pm to learn that there are no rooms availability. I was offered option to stay in the other sister property 10 min away. I found it very annoying that my room was given away to someone else. Also, had I known before about it I would have booked with another hotel. After,i mentioned that I’ll leave bed review one of the receptionist offers me to wait and he was able to find me a room.

Great stay right next to Paddington! Outstanding staff, cool vibe, great value.

I booked a triple room. On arrival the receptionist said he has given us a bigger room. When we got to the room it was cold, smelt of sewage, room decor was tatty and tired. Double bed on ground floor and then two single beds up some windy open stairs. Not welcoming at all and split the group up. I also had my Mum with me who was not happy with using the stairs. We asked to change rooms and luckily they did have another room, which was much better, warmer and no smells. Ideal position close to Paddington train station and tube. Also very handy that we could leave our luggage there until our return journey.

Amazing location with tube a few minutes up the road. Hotel was very clean and all the staff were friendly and accommodating. Only gripe was the size of the room was very small, and basic. But was very clean. Breakfast was continental but choice was amazing and good quality.

No AC. Leaving the window open would have been fine except for all the bugs! Breakfast was expensive and awful.

Our stay was good. Very conveniently located close to Paddington station which is the main stop from Heathrow airport. Also very close to Hyde park which was lovely for running to first thing in the morning. There were two false fire alarms during our stay which was annoying but not the fault of the hotel. The breakfast was not our favorite, but Sheila’s cafe and a small French cafe also walking distance that were both great.

Small room for breakfast, stress to getting a table. But the food was delicious.

Great location and a really warm welcome crom all the team. Room was perfectly adequate especially for such an economic price. Lots to choose at breakfast.

The Hotel is very close to Paddington and very welcoming on arrival. It caters for single people, with rooms that are small, clean and comfortable. A very good continental breakfast is offered and all the hotel staff are polite and helpful. I would recommend it for a very comfortable stay for a reasonable price, close to the parks and the West End.
