Very disappointing. This is NOT a five star hotel; it’s a substandard conversion of a sixties concrete carbuncle. Connecting doors and stairways are tired and look shabby, with ill fitting carpets on some stairways. Website advertises an array of amenities which were not available such as the purple bar, which features in many of the promotional photographs, and pool table area (a private event was in place). If these are not available, remove them from the website as we had planned on spending a vibrant evening in these areas. Instead we had to leave the hotel and find other venues. Music from the private event boomed until 1am preventing sleep on night two. The room was quite strange, with net curtains acting as partitions between the wash and sleeping areas, with minimal privacy for those using the facilities. Inadequate power socket placements for the 21st century with nothing in reach of the beds for phone / watch charging.

Loved the design features of the room, lobby and pool table, location and service. Some bits of the hotel were a bit tired around the edges (eg paintwork) and room was on first floor above courtyard so very noisy until about midnight. Overall though we had a great stay.

The team at The Sanderson were exceptional! From Finn and Mohamed greeting you at the door daily to Shanna, Jose, and the F&B team making sure every detail of your dining experiences go well. Hotel was clean, comfortable, and unique. There were many areas of delight including the delightfully large and well equipped gym. Can’t say enough and will definitely stay again!

Stayed at this hotel a number of times, friendly staff & a nice calming feel as you enter the lobby. One lift was out of action so had a little longer to wait but it wasn’t a problem. Delicious cocktails.

I love this hotel. I stay there every three weeks but I was so disappointed the restaurant and long bar wasn’t open due to a function. I think I should have been told before hand so I could have made the choice if I still wanted to stay there. To be fair though they very kindly issued free drinks and snacks on the first floor making a temporary bar. The hot help yourself breakfast is always cold. I have mentioned it and hopefully they will sort this out. There was no upgrade available this time. I still love the horn and staff though.

We had a great stay at the Sanderson hotel. Excellent customer service, clean and stunning room, absolutely amazing staff in all areas. We enjoyed the afternoon tea, cocktails and breakfast, all was very tasty. The gym also had lots of equipment. Would highly recommend, the hotel looks modern and chic. We only encountered one small issue with the room service but it was taken care of by the front of house team in a serious and professional manner. We stayed in other hotels from the Morgans hotel group and this hotel lived up to the standard. We are excited to return one day.

I had never heard of the Sanderson but decided to give them a try, and was very glad I did. The interiors are very fun, and unexpected. The bed was comfy, and the tub in the deluxe king (why I booked the room) was great and perfect after long runs and walks. The staff was friendly and prompt. The gym even had a Pilates machine. Wifi was super fast, and it’s an easy walk to the Tube.

I had no VIP treatment. They charged me for an upgraded room which was small and filthy when I entered it. Trash was still in the bins and water marks from the bathroom as if someone used the shower. The bed was made and not crumpled otherwise I would have been out of there. It was convenient to where I was going but I won’t be staying here again.

I recently stayed at this hotel and was disappointed with the overall condition of the property. The hotel feels old, and the floors were visibly dirty with strange stains that seemed impossible to clean. While the service was fine, the biggest issue was the room temperature—by noon, it became unbearably hot, and the air conditioning was too weak to make a difference. Unfortunately, this made it difficult to relax during the day. I wouldn’t recommend staying here unless these issues are addressed.

As usual very good service ina desirable accessible part of londom. Esy to meet up with friends at the bar and nearby restaurants/bars/pubs Room conditionand decor is excellent Check in and check out very efficient In room noise-insulation on the 2nd floor can be improved. This was not an issue on previous stays on higher Noise insulation

Comfortable bed is a positive as is the location. View from a 5th floor “deluxe” room (there are only 6 floors) was dismal even on a bright sunny day. Huge bath but virtually empty bottles of shampoo and conditioner were in bath tray and no bubble bath…weird. Only one lift working and no water stair access. No mention of Expedia VIP access at checkin and given room next to the lift shaft! Not ideal but thankfully I didn’t have a need for a good nights sleep or lie in but if I had wanted that, my rating would be much much lower and I’d have complained because it was noisy to say the least

Nice hotel. A little worn around the edges. The room was comfortable with nice design elements but a little impractical. The lack of door on the bathroom was interesting and the bathroom lacked basic supplies (cotton buds, shower cap etc.) that you'd expect for a 5* property. That said the hotel staff were very accommodating and friendly, including organising a nice birthday surprise for my partner.

Not very inviting & clinical feel environment, bed uncomfortable (very firm) bedside light not working. shower in fixed direction (which faces the shower door and with the gaps flooded the floor. Tea & coffee facilities very limited (1 coffee or cup of tea only) very pretentious try to be something it's not, in my opinion not value for money would not return.

It was fine but nothing special, certainly not as good as I was expecting. The hotel is looking a little dated and tired and in need of rejuvenation. The glass walls in the rooms, masked by net curtains, are something of a hazard as are the low hanging lights on a metal rod.

This is not a 5* hotel by any stretch. Queue for check in. Poor quality superior room. Feels like a converted office space - googled it - it is converted office space. No bath in room. No plugs near mirror for your heart straightener ladies. We were 2nd floor. In bed at 10pm - DJ below was pumping base till midnight, felt like we were in the party. Hotel offered me ear plug. Toilet didn’t work in morning. Room service food excellent 5*. Breakfast very good food but understaffed meant 20 mins plus wait plus queue to get in.

Check in very slow as attendant was new employee on her own as the experienced agent kept stepping away. Had a problem taking a cc deposit then getting my room key ready. She really should not have been left on her own. On 2 of the 5 mornings despite the privacy sign outside the cleaner without knocking opening our door then apologies as she left.i asked for room away from lift and room was behind d lift which was fine but it was right next door to cleaner storage area so we were awoken early every morning as they went back and forth to this storage area. Finally on last there there was event taking place in room near reception (pool table room) - as a result there was lot of voice noise from 8am I assume outside entrance to hotel as attendees arrived and chatted

Disappointing Service Undermines a relatively nice property. I had high expectations given its reputation and pricing. On the positive side, the location is excellent, the room was spacious, and the modern aesthetic is appealing. However, the experience was consistently let down by service issues. Roughly 50% of interactions with staff were negative in some way, usually ending with an apology from management. These weren’t isolated incidents, but part of a clear pattern suggesting a lack of proper training or oversight. While apologies came frequently, they felt like a substitute for the meaningful investment needed to improve the guest experience. At no point during my stay did the service meet 5-star standards. Key issues included: • Initial room change required due to cleanliness issues, continued during stay until management intervention • TV Remote control randomly missing from the room • Faulty window blinds requiring engineer visit • Breakfast incident where I was incorrectly profiled as someone who might leave without paying, despite having signed the check was challenged whilst eating(!), signed check at my table ... challenged for payment/signature again on exit and challenged a third time on the way to the elevator with the caveat statement that "we've had many people leave without paying (!) The pattern of errors and missteps left a lasting impression, I can't imagine how the Sanderson merits a 5-star rating.

Put us in a room type we had not booked (twin instead of double). Didn’t tell us this at check in. When we got to the room and call reception to ask to move to the room type we booked were told ‘Oh yes, I forgot to mention that when you checked in, we have not other rooms, but I’m sure you’ll like that one’ Terrible customer experience

The receptionist was very rude when we arrived. We noticed that all customers arriving were being helped to their rooms but we were directed to go alone. Same thing with luggage, we hauled our luggage up ourselves but saw other customers’ luggage being delivered to their rooms on our floor. The customer service was cold and unwelcoming, we felt like we were unwelcome guests at a distant relative’s house, not in a hotel for which we reserved and paid for rooms. Unfortunate situation considering the rooms were fun and the location is great.

A/C is not working and there is 25 degrees of Celsius in the room during the night without any chance to ventilate. Staff is not responding to this. Also, staff is not communicating anything during a test for alarm.

Ideal hotel near Oxford Street with clean and spacious rooms. It's easy to walk to many attractions, and public transport is readily available. The staff were very friendly and gave us great breakfast recommendations nearby. We'll definitely stay here again on our next visit to London.

Had a fantastic stay here! Thank you. I wouldn't say it shouts London 5 star ⭐ however, it was some of the best service in the cities 5 star collection that we've been to. The staff are very helpful, thoughtful and delivered every aspect, including special occasion requests extremely well. The room was beautiful, very large and had everything required. The downfalls of the Sanderson are the amenities: as far as these go, it's limited to one bar (The Long Bar) as the other, rather lovely looking bar only opens on a Thursday?! Aside from that, you're greeted by a sparse lobby with cool, quirky furnishings but leaves much to be desired. I know that less is more quite often, however the design doesn't necessarily flow well, it's like an open office space with random furniture dotted around a pretty standard laminate floor. It doesn't give you quite the ode to luxury that others nearby do. Although, The Long Bar serves wonderful cocktails and the outdoor courtyard space lends it self to a lovely seating area around a small pond-style fountain which is a nice touch. We used this area with friends also staying at the hotel as we had the pleasure of trying the Mad Hatters Afternoon Tea and what a true delight it was! Decadent, and scrumptious - nothing to be added here other than the exemplary service provided by Sanyogita, she made the whole experience smooth from start to finish, very personable and I believe she is an asset to the tea party that's for sure. Hotel 8/10. Thanks!

We had a wonderful stay at The Sanderson in June of 2023. My son had huge duffels as he was moving into Oxford for the summer and they accomodated us by giving us a room with a nook where his bags could sit. The bed was divine and so comfortable. The room was quiet, clean and plush. Breakfast was delicious as was afternoon tea! Great location, easy to walk/tube/uber everywhere. We can't wait to go back!
