Nicely located near Buckingham Palace

This well located private boutique hotel is ideal for walking or short cab rides. The staff was very welcoming and attentive. The room was comfortable and updated in terms of decor and technology. The breakfast was excellent in terms of cuisine and service. And they have a lovely gallery of art throughout, particularly portraits.

The location is great and front desk staff and porters were all wonderful and professional. The hotel rooms itself even though functional really lacking modern touches( especially bathrooms) and space for proper comfort and most of the furniture feels dated and making quite a lot of old school noises like loud banging of shutting doors and drawers. Breakfast buffet has a lot of potential with interesting unusual choices like cute crudités, but feels rather limited otherwise with some items such smoked salmon instantly disappearing and not being regularly refilled. Overall there was a slight sense of disappointment because of higher expectations for a five star Mayfair experience!
