I would have given 5 star but they had huge construction inside the hotel and outside of the hotel. Lydia was friendly. Breakfast was on rooftop was good and the staff were friendly. The ladies who cleaned the rooms were great in their job. The hotel is in great location, close to main attraction. Elevator is slow due to construction.

Perfect location for all the sights and sounds of London city. Try the roof top bar with views down to Trafalgar Square. Watch out for the drinks prices though (£35 for 2 G&Ts)..

I was fine with the construction since I was made aware of this during booking. I was a bit surprised with the amount of construction. The room was great and clean. I got what I expected when looking at the pictures online. I was a bit surprised with how small the one part of the rooftop bar was as compared to the pictures. The restaurant side was not nearly as appealing.

Early check in requested and provided by the hotel which was nice. Free minibar facility was welcome. WiFi quality was poor, should be a lot better. Lobby space was tight. No restrooms in the lobby as some reconstruction going on. Location of the hotel was excellent and made our stay very productive.

The property was centrally located. Staff was outstanding. Breakfast was excellent. Rooftop was only so-so and was booked because they allow outside guests up there which was a little disappointing. Overall, hotel was a very pleasant experience outside of the rooftop occasionally.

This was an excellent hotel with an excellent location. The staff were professional and very helpful!! The only reason I gave 4 stars was because of construction going on in the lobby while we were there - a bit of a disruption. However, we were warned ahead of time that the construction was going on. I wish we had stayed after the construction was completed!

hotel was nice but room had aweful view had to close drapes to avoid construction workers on building behind us staff was great we had a leaking toliet when we checked in and it was fixed within hours! dont bother with rooftop bar cant go without a reservation it is small and food is overpriced we sat near a loud drunk group and it was very annoying

To be honest I made a mistake booking this hotel. I should have done more research. This a nice hotel for tourists and we are not tourists. Location is on the corner of Trafalgar Square. Our timing was poor as there was a marathon bike race happening at the time which made getting to the hotel a real mission. We booked a deluxe double room for 2 nights. The room was nice a decent size with a sofa. The sofa was facing a wall so had to turn it around so as to be able to watch the tv. Decor was okay. Shower was a bit small and needed attention. It leaked. The lifts were very temperamental and not always working. Due to renovation going on in the hotel there is only 1 bar. The rooftop bar which was quite nice but you were only allowed an hour if you haven’t reserved beforehand. The staff in the bar were very friendly. I probably wouldn’t stay here again.

Hospitality was non-existent, especially when there was a problem with our room. The building next door was under construction, so we woke up to a jackhammer every morning except Sunday. The hotel itself was also under construction, so there was no restaurant, just a small rooftop bar. When we informed the manager about the issues with the two rooms we booked on the day we checked in, he said he would investigate but never called back. We had contacted the hotel prior to our stay about our preferences, but they had no record of it when we arrived. The concierge never followed through with our request to book a car for an early morning tour to Paris, so we had to arrange it ourselves at 4:00 am. After that, we did not go to him for anything else. The doorman was wonderful, and housekeeping was satisfactory. However, the grout in the bathroom floor tile and shower tile was very dirty. When checking out, a man had arranged for his bag to be downstairs so he could catch his train, but the woman working would not help him. Eventually, the bellhop who had brought the bag came and took it out of the cabinet right behind her, which she had refused to check. Even without the noise, construction, and lack of amenities, I would never stay at this hotel again as the lobby staff and managers are disingenuous and unwilling to help when a problem arises. We would have booked another hotel the day we checked in, but the Taylor Swift tour made this impossible.

The St James at Trafalgar Square was a lovely hotel with very spacious rooms. The room was very clean, beds were comfortable and the free minibar soft drinks, bottled water and cookies were a nice touch. The construction in the area was noticeable during the day but the area was relatively quiet at night. We loved the convenience of being close to so many landmarks and shopping areas. The Rooftop was small but a lovely area for drinks or a meal on a beautiful London day.

We were extremely pleased with the hotel location and amenities, but were even more impressed with the level of service that we received from everyone: front desk, concierge, baggage, the restaurant, and the bar. And not to forget housekeeping: housekeeping came by at least twice daily, and on special request as needed, and tidied up our room with fresh linens, towels, and still waters. It was the best housekeeping service that we have ever received. We highly recommend the Trafalgar St. James hotel to anyone traveling to London.

We stayed for one night in August 2023. On checking in the duty manager asked if it was a special occasion, and I said we were there for my husband’s birthday. He immediately tried to upgrade us to a room with a view, but the hotel was fully booked. He gave us vouchers for a free drink each in the rooftop bar instead. The room was very large, spotlessly clean and very comfortable, with a separate seating area and complementary soft drinks mini bar. After we had been in the room gif about five minutes there was a knock at the door and Kurtis the dirt manager was there with a hand written birthday card, Prosecco in an ice bucket and two delicious cup cakes. He went above and beyond to make the occasion special. The rooftop bar was amazing, with so many familiar landmarks in view. Breakfast was good in the morning, overlooking the fountains in Trafalgar Square. I would thoroughly recommend the hotel.

Great location for seeing the classic sites in London. Walk to theater or Westminster Abbey. Easy access to transport. Trafalgar Square is busy, but we had a lovely, quiet room at the back of the hotel. Didn't try the restaurant which looked nice, but pricey. Staff was very friendly and room immaculate

What was to like? We were upgraded to a suite (which is great). What is not to like? The suite was located in the basement , literally the basement with no windows. It was not clear initially because of the lighting but there was no windows; however, that was not the worst part. There was a very bad (subtle) odor coming from some part of the room. We eventually found it coming from the curtains/walls. We asked for it to be replaced and not sure if it was replaced but the bad odor remained. Definitely not worth the upgrade. I am sure not all rooms are like this but please avoid the suite in the basement.

Great location and a lovely staff, but Hilton always manages to disappoint. Here was yet another uncomfortable mattress I can only describe as worn out and at these rates I just have to ask, is it luxury when the bath has SO little counter space you have to set your shaving kit on the closed toilet seat every morning? Maybe I’ll try a Hilton again in another five years…

The widows could not be opened in the room for fresh air. No instructions to work the air con. The bathroom door was very water damaged at the base of the door and had blown. Fridge not working very well . Great position and well appointed rooms. All staff very polite and friendly

The hotel is located centrally in Trafalgar Square with walking access to Buckingham Palace, Whitehall, Westminster, and Covent Garden. The room we had is spacious, well appointed, and comfortable. One minor gripe is the garden suite on the lower ground floor has no natural light, and the room lighting is not bright enough so that the all around feeling is gloomy.

Its a lovely hotel. Rooms are decent size & very comfortable. We like that they gave us adjoining rooms. Staff is very nice. Breakfast is just downstairs which is very convenient if you are in a rush and wanted to get an early head start. Its very close to many tourist attractions such as Soho, Chinatown, Covent Garden, Buckingham Palace, London Eye, Westminster Abbey, Elizabeth Tower, and many more. You also have few metro stops options - Charing Cross, Piccadilly, Embankment, Leceister as well as a bus stop in front of the building. Highly recommended.

Our stay was very nice. The staff was ALWAYS very friendly and helpful. The location is amazing. Our only complaints were the lack of closet space (pretty tough for two people traveling for a week) and the lack of a tub. For that, I had to do 4 stars overall whereas the rest of the experience was 5 stars all the way.

We arrived early and exhausted and no room was supposedly available. The staff was not accommodating, but offered an immediate room at an extra charge of about $250/day for an 8 day stay! We declined, and staff said they’d “text us” when a room was available- never happened. Four hours later we returned, inquired about the room, and were reluctantly given a crummy, dinky room on the second floor. By this time we’d been awake for about 26 hours so we took the room. This was an expensive, premium booking and we were very disappointed with our treatment and accomodations. The location was fantastic, but the hotel experience was deplorable. We’ll make another choice next time.

Absolutely love The Trafalgar St. James. I stayed here in the Fall and when I booked a trip back to London last weekend, there wasn't anywhere else I wanted to stay. The location is perfect. Close to everything. The rooms are incredible. Beds exceptionally comfortable. The staff kind and helpful. There was a private event going on at the rooftop for my entire staff so I didn't have an opportunity to enjoy it, but will be back for sure.

Beware of shady practices with room rates. We traveled around the world, were exhausted after not sleeping all night, and when we arrive they claimed the only room available was an upgrade that cost 30% more. That might’ve been fine if we got a better room, but what we got was exactly as described in our original booking, down to every detail and identical in photos. They took advantage, charged us more, and have refused to rectify the situation. We ended up paying almost $900 a night for a a single room and bathroom, which we’d already reserved at a rate of just below $700. Also, one of the two elevators were out of service so arriving and leaving the property was slow. Aside from that, most of the other staff were friendly and attentive and the location is great, I just can’t help but feel frustrated and like they can’t be trusted to return.

Hotel location is absolutely fantastic! Right next to Trafalgar Square. It’s walkable to many attractions including London Eye, Big Ben and etc . Chinatown is also within 10 mins walk and you get to experience a different night life and foods there. Front desk staffs are friendly and welcoming. They were able to give us many different recommendations of where to go, when to visit as well as some great coffee shops nearby! We booked a 2 queen beds and it is big consider traveling in Europe. It comes with complimentary waters and slippers. Shout out to the two young gentlemen working at front desk. They helped us with our luggage and calling for caps to the train station. Super helpful and polite. Would definitely recommend to anyone who’s traveling to London!

They are engaged with each customer and excited to help the patrons. I was very impressed with how professional everyone was. the location is perfect transportation to anywhere you need to go steps away. I would stay here again and again!

disappointing lack of room service although the information systems in the hotel all said it did have room service. Then when descending to the restaurant on the ground floor theq were only serving miniature bar snacks an no proper meals.

Staff could not have been nicer or more professional-from check in to concierge to restaurant staff. Location was wonderful. Hotel had limited amenities but London was right aside the door! View from rooftop bar was amazing… food not so much.

Quick getaway for Birthday Treat, wish we stayed longer as Hotel is lovely and in an awesome location. Staff throughout happy and helpful, particularly the happy and helpful ladies in the Rockwell for our evening meal. Lovely food and desserts. Don’t miss the rooftop bar which has amazing views in the night and nice drinks, book a table when you arrive!
