Staff was amazingly friendly and the location of the hotel made traveling around the city, either by foot or tube, incredibly easy.

Really happy with our stay (another one at The Clermont Charring Cross). The room was large and spotlessly clean, the ensuite was modern and had a walk in shower and bath. The air conditioning was most welcome and kept the room (417) very comfortable..it was great to get a good night's sleep..wish it was like this in our own home! The television was a good size if you wanted to watch. The curtains were blackout .. so much better for sleeping. Although the window in this particular room was small it was of no consequence as we were not after a view. The staff were friendly..all had a smile. On this occasion Meerain helped us when checking in and out: charming and helpful. It was really lovely to be recognised as a returning customer with cake and a message left in our room. We also received a complimentary drink in the bar. Whilst we did not dine on this occasion, the menu looked fab and the prices were very comparable with others in the location (ie: They were not sky high just because it is a 'posh' hotel. The Clermont is in a good location ..near to all the major theatres and with the railway literally on the doorstep. Little touches like placing tea lights up the entrance staircase at night as an example do not go unnoticed. Happy to recommend our favourite hotel based on this room and previous visits.

UNFORTUNATELY, WE WERE IN ROOM 1318 FOR A TWO NIGHT STAY FOR MY WIFE’S BIRTHDAY. WE HAD FLOWN DOWN FROM SCOTLAND. WHAT THE DESK DID NOT TELL US WAS THAT THERE WAS CONSTRUCTION GOING ON OUTSIDE OUR WINDOW AND UNDER US FOR A NEW SHOP. THE DRILLINNG BEGAN THE FIRST MORING AT 9AM AND THE NEXT MORNING AT 8;20. AND THERE WAS INTERMITENT WORK THROUGH THE DAY. THE FRONT DESK APOLOGIZED AND GAVE US TWO $100 CREDITS. NOT ENOUGH. WE WERE DISTURBED FOR OUR TWO MORNINGS AT THE HOTEL WHEN WE WANTED TO TAKE LEISURELY MORNINGS BEFORE GOING OUT FOR THE DAY. IT’S TERRIBLE POLICY TO PUT GUESTS INTO A ROOM THAT MIGHT VERY WELL BE PROBLEMATIC. SHAME, BUT IT KIND OF PUT A DAMPER ON OUR CELEBRATION..
