Arctic Comfort Hotel

Our door code did not work upon arrival. We had to call the hotel number, as this is an unattended property. If you do not have an active cell plan- this is not for you. The person who answered confirmed our code was correct- just not activated. She stayed on the line until we got into our third floor, walk up room. There is no room refresh during the stay unless you pay extra. We were aware and survived. Bed was adequate. Room storage is non-existent. No closet, no bureau. WiFi worked without issue. TV worked. In room Nespresso worked. Refrigerator worked after we plugged it in. We went to Bonus, picked up ramen, extra espresso pods, sugar and cinnamon rolls. There is a kettle in the room, so hot water is no issue. Bathroom/ shower combo Remove TP roll and towels before using or will be soaked The vending machine, another reviewer mentioned was damaged during their stay, was still damaged. Normally has drinks and sundries, not working. Glass door on one side still broken out. Parking on street in front- we had no difficulty. Street parking is free- rare in Reykjavík No more than a 10 minute drive to anything in the city. Location was good. Restaurants near by. Braud & Co was a 5 minute drive. Our front door code stopped working the day before departure. Some else arriving always let us in. Security issue? Our room code always worked. Final thoughts- driving, with cell phone, fine for one or two nights. Not for longer stays. Not for travelers needing assistance.

The place is very dark inside with no elevator. Despite in hotel description it mentioned airport shuttle, it actually doesn't have shuttle . The restroom has no body wash, and the shampoo was literally empty on our first day, messaged the hotel early next morning, but there was no response. Only response later is about check out time. So we had no shampoo throughout our stay.

We weren’t expecting the check in, so beware. Once the check in time at 3:00 came around, the code they send you works. But, be patient when entering the code for door and room. Walk to city center is over 45 minutes, could catch a bus, but still expect to walk 10-15 minutes. We rented a car and saw all the waterfalls in the area, which is what I would recommend.

No elevator, it’s a hassle going to 2nd floor Washbasin is very small Heater wasn’t working and they didn’t fix it even after complaining about it Pricey, no counter staff / check-in staff to assist It’s a self check-in hotel Lights were not sufficient

This has been as far the worst hotel that i have been stayed. DONT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!! It shouldnt have the name COMFORT!! It doesnt honor to that name!! Even though the shower doesnt have courtain or door to separate te shower to the toilet and sink so u get wet all around. Its very hot the room. Dont stay here. You will regret....besides is expensive as hell!!
