The hotel is at a good place but it was disappointing that there was no free parking next to the hotel. we had to take the car away from the hotel to find a space for free. In the room no dedicated space for shoes and jackets, no fridge and the shower head is a fixed one that is just not convenient. on the other hand the hotel is easy to find and on a good location, we managed to find several restaurants in the area. Staff was also friendly.

We stayed 5 nights in June. The front desk staff were really helpful and very friendly. Check in/out was easy. We didn’t opt for breakfast at the property but heard good reviews from other guests. The bar/coffee at the front desk was very convenient. 10 minute walk to bus stop 12, the departure point for tours and 2 blocks from main shopping area. Easy to walk to most attractions and restaurants. The only negative was with the shower. The surface of the drain pan was very slippery.

Good stuff: Eco-friendly: housekeeping on request only, separate bins for bottles, paper and general waste. Takes getting used to, but found that daily housekeeping is not essential. Wonderful, friendly and helpful staff. Clean room, linen and towels. Clean and tidy restaurant and food area. Breakfast has a good variety of foods, tasty breads, boiled eggs peeled and sliced, many types of fruits and nuts. Skyr exceptionally good. Good quiet location close to the water, walking distance to public transit, shopping, restaurants and most museums. Grocery store behind the hotel. Not so good: No hooks in bathroom to hang towels/clothes, shelf over the small sink too low, so a challenge to avoid hitting forehead. Shower stall small, with not bars or rails to hold onto. Could be dangerous as the wraparound shower curtain would not stop a fall. In spite of the bathroom, we had a wonderful stay at this property. A bit pricey, but everything is somewhat expensive in this mesmerizing country.

Location is excellent. Near shopping, restaurants, transportation, and waterfront. Breakfast is a highlight with broad spectrum of offerings…meats, cheeses, juices, coffees, pastries, fruits, cereals, etc. The skyr was particularly good. The room is clean, efficient and very comfortable. Cleaning is at the occupants option when needed. Pleasant staff.

The room was basic but clean and had everything we needed. The shower was hot and the bed comfy. Perfect location, 3 minute walk from Laugavegur, close to the harbour and a lovely viewing spot out to sea and the northern lights if you’re lucky! Parking at the hotel is expensive but there is cheaper parking close by.

Hotel is in serious need of a remodel. Room was small. Bathroom was tiny. Couldn’t turn around in the shower without the shower curtain sticking to my body. The long black hairs on the shower wall from the last guest were a quaint touch. And the spare toilet paper roll was stacked against the toilet bowl brush. When I complained, the hotel offered to refund me 10% of the exorbitant rates— but the credit never appeared on my credit card.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The room and property could use some updating. Beds were not the most comfortable. Couch was rather old, floor was dirty/not mopped. Toilet was old and American style, hair dryer so old it could only run 20 seconds at a time before overheating and shutting off. Only instant coffee in the room. Would be nice if breakfast was included. Appreciated the 12:00 check out time.

Great location. Good breakfast. The parking in front of the hotel is so expensive and they just don’t let you know upon arrival that you can park a lot cheaper (night time even free) just metres away!! We payed more than 5000 ISK the first evening/night and could have saved 4500 of that. Very poor information. The rooms are small and old, if you wanna close the door, you have to slam it, the sink was broken, the shower really tiny. Room was not cleaned once in four days although we had asked for a cleaning every second day. For what we paid, I would not recommend the hotel.

Foss hotel is a very basic hotel, but is safe, convenient, and comfortable. If you get breakfast included, it is excellent with a great deal of menu choice. My only complaint would be the conditions of the carpets in the rooms and the halls. They do not look clean. The staff are very accommodating.

Room clean, but very basic with tea/coffee making facility only… no fridge. Shower rose terrible with minimal spray going in all directions. Basin only so nowhere to put anything in bathroom. Wasn’t disturbed by any noise coming from other rooms which was a plus. Public transport close, and easy walk into main part of Reykjavik.

Bed and room were comfortable. Shower was terrible - very small and curtain clung to you the entire shower. Staff was very friendly. I was able to store my suitcases in the back room before checking in. Reykjavik is very walkable, lots of public transportation. One bad weather day I used the hopp app (like uber). Hotel close to sculpture walk and 15 minutes from the shopping area. Small grocery and atm available behind the hotel.

We weren’t real sure what to expect but were pleasantly surprised. The double room was plenty big for 2 of us. The bathroom was good sized but the sink was tiny and with very little space to “ put” things. Clean. View was great of the harbor but room hot at night even with the windows open and noisy. Men talking loudly outside at 3:00 am was not conducive to a good night’s rest. The breakfast is well worth it! It was a good place for a couple of nights and convenient to much in Reykjavík.

The staff was very helpful and accommodating. The room was large by European standard there was no dresser to put clothes in, there is no air conditioning and the bathroom is small with an even smaller shower, there is tiny sink with glass shelve above it holding 2 glasses and a box of Kleenex and nothing else can be put there. If you try to lean over the sink to wash your face you will hit your head on the glass shelve if you are not careful. There is only one small bar about 1.5 foot long to hand a towel and that is it. The TV stands on a desk occupying space that could have been used to put things. It has one small drawer only. No hooks or anything to hand a coat. Luckily we had only 2 nights booked.

Nice hotel close to the waterfront. Walkable to many sites and restaurants. Friendly staff. We stayed 3 days, went north and then stayed 3 more days. Rooms were a nice size. The first room was at the back. We couldn’t leave the window open as there was a really loud fan going. Second room was at front. Was quieter. We still slept well in both instances.

Excellent stay at Fosshotel Baron! Perfectly located, with excursion buses picking up right outside and many attractions and restaurants within walking distance. The staff was friendly and provided outstanding customer service. We were so grateful that since our room was already available, they kindly let us check in earlier after a long flight, it made such a difference. Highly recommend this hotel for both comfort and convenience!

Our stay here was fine. The location is in a very walkable area of city center location without all the noise. Front desk staff was AMAZING, so helpful; promptly answering emails long before our arrival and letting us know how to get around. They let us store our suitcases when we arrived super early. Our room was fine, but not fancy; very clean. It had all the basic accommodations; bed was comfortable, bathroom was clean, spacious. You can purchase a breakfast buffet with your room. It was very nice, plenty of options. Only downside is that they have one small elevator; it may be a long wait, if there is a large group. I loved my stay here made better by ALL the staff at the front desk; they were so helful and kind. I wish I knew their names.

Perfect hotel to stay in Iceland. Right on the waterfront with a great view and fantastic service. Front desk associates were superb. Sophia assisted us several times and went above and beyond. From forgetting a water bottle at the Lava show, to leaving our key in the room, to happy wine places. If we ever return to Iceland we will stay here again.

Fosshotel Baron was in a great location in Reykjavik. Only one road off the water, the semi-obstructed view reminded us that we were on an island every morning. From the hotel, we were within easy walking distance (5-10 minutes) of dozens of restaurants and as many shops. A twenty minute walk takes you to Harpa Concert Hall and Conference Center and five more minutes takes you to city center with even more restaurants and shops.So many sites within walking distance. The hotel has a good warm breakfast with plenty of options, the rooms are clean, and the beds are comfortable.

Hotel location is great, just two blocks away from the road that connects you to shops and restaurants. Within a 3-20 minute walk are plenty of restaurants, bars, shops. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and a great size for our family of four.

Good location, within a few block walk of Laugavegur street which where you'll find lots of choice of restaurants, bars, shops, etc. Rooms were practical for what we needed. Fantastic breakfast offering in the morning, which was an ideal way to start off a day of siteseeing.

A little off the beaten path; not enough time to thoroughly learn the bus system, but everything within walking distance - if you're will in to walk 1/2 hour! Spartan rooms, but clean and functional - remember, this is Iceland and not Las Vegas!

Clean room with lots of space (deluxe double). Walking distance to all we wanted to see and some amazing restaurants. Front desk was super helpful, we paid for the breakfast and were leaving the last day prior to it starting and they gave us a to go snack bag. 2 blocks from #9 bus stop where we picked up all our day tours. Would stay again!
