This is a lovely hotel. The staff are professional and friendly. It is right across the street from a courtyard which is adjacent to many restaurants and bars. Unfortunately, one night of our stay, one of the bars was having a very loud open air party. it was so loud that our 5th floor room was vibrating. The party did end at midnight. The hotel has a lovely spa area with an indoor pool, steam room and sauna.

The staff was very helpful. The hotel is close to everything, from the town to the bus stops. Great breakfast in the morning. I used the gym, equipment worked and was clean. The spa was small but it had what I needed-hot tub. Steam and sauna. The room was amazing. Beautiful art deco decor and the shower was spacious. I highly recommend

The hotel was in the middle of downtown, and it was very easily accessible to many major attractions in Reykjavik. Parking was an issue, however. Each day, we had to drive around the local streets to find parking P2 parking was difficult to find. The hotel itself was very comfortable.

The historic building is stunning, the rooms spacious & conformable with all the extra amenities you expect at very high hotels in the US. Ideal spot if you want to be in the old downtown of Reykjavik. The only issue is parking and lack of valet service. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful. Amazing breakfast buffet so make sure to select that option. It is about an hour from the international airport. So keep that in mind.

for the price I paid for my room, I found the Borg lacking in the following areas: 1) my bed- it was uncomfortable, and I didn't sleep well. It was low to the ground, basically like a cot and a full size. My 2 other friends had a comfortable queen-size bed. 2) the black-out shades were not sufficient 3) the temperature of the room was too hot 4) again, breakfast didn't merit the high cost and staff were not friendly or welcoming 6) my room was not cleaned the 2 nights I stayed here, despite my asking at the front desk for that service. 5) on a positive note, the decor of the establishment is beautiful and I love the historic memorabilia,

The front desk was very welcoming and informative from the start. All questions were answered with a smile. They even searched to see if our room was available to check in early which it was. We utilized street parking several blocks away. That was more convenient than most hotels in the area. The entire hotel was spotless and smelled pleasant. The bed was comfortable and the view of the city was awesome. This hotel was right in the center of everything. I would recommend it to anyone who wants access to restaurants, shopping and the marina.

Wir hatten eine sehr angenehme und komfortable Nacht im Hotel Borg. Die Lage ist ideal wenn man fussläufig Reykjavík erkunden möchte. Kostenpflichtige Parkmöglichkeiten gibt es ebenfalls in fussläufiger Entfernung. Das Zimmer war sauber und komfortabel eingerichtet. Das Personal extrem freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Frühstücksbuffet hat uns ebenfalls zufrieden gestellt. Wir würden es definitiv empfehlen und auch wieder kommen.

Beautiful historic hotel in Reykjavik. Our room had a wonderful view of Hallgrímskirkja Church, which was an added bonus. The room was extremely clean, and the bed was very comfortable. I would definitely stay here again.

Room was in a totally different building which was weird. Had none of the old traditions or feel to it. Breakfast was very average at best. Got down there at 09.45 on our last day and half the buffer was gone and not replaced with new food. We were told the Breakfast ends in 10min so it’s our problem for coming late. Cleaning was ok, bed wasn’t made properly, just loosely made up. Definitely not the hotel of old

Beautiful hotel, wonderful location, but oh so HOT! Heating is free in Iceland whether you want it or not. We had a poor nights sleep as it was so hot in the room! No way to adjust the heating. It was too cold outside to leave the window open, so we ended up sleeping on top of the duvet and were still roasting!

Fantastic hotel. Our room was very spacious and had wonderful old-fashioned windows that opened to the park across the street. The bathroom was also large and well equipped. The furnishings really took us back to the art deco age, including a huge painting in our room that was nothing like the typical hotel artwork. Although our room was right next to the elevator, it was very quiet. It was a little noisy on the street at times because the weather was great and people were out enjoying the outdoor seating at the nearby cafes, but it wasn’t a problem. The staff was friendly and very helpful and accommodated an early check-in. Highly recommend!

Not as expected based on the pictures. Are there two parts to the hotel and my single room was in the older part? Bathroom sink was the size of an airplane sink and couldn't be accessed without closing the bathroom door. Loud music on weekend nights from the nearby Hard Rock cafe. Limited TV options. On the plus side, staff members were friendly and the hotel is conveniently located near Bus Stop 3.

The location is very convenient and right in the heart of the city. The staff were all very friendly, especially Camilla at the reception. Her thoughtful assistance in arranging our breakfast ahead of our early flight on the day of checkout was exceptional and truly heartwarming. Thanks again!

We utilized street parking several blocks away. That was more convenient than most hotels in the area. The entire hotel was spotless and smelled pleasant. The bed was comfortable and the view of the city was awesome. This hotel was right in the center of everything. I would recommend it to anyone who wants access to restaurants, shopping and the marina.

Unfortunately we've had quite bad experience with this hotel: - no parking options (in spite of Expedia posting information that there is parking for fee) - hotel didn't send beforehand any parking information or other recommendations, parking details can be found only when you checked-in in the brochure which you can get ONLY when scanning QR code in the lift - staff at check-in was rude saying that we should have explore parking options beforehand by ourselves and for my answer that it shouldn't be the case, I've got answer "Whatever' - spa for a fee(!) 2500 isk per room, even simple entry for some basic gym and when I wanted to try it at 9:30am (spa working hours are 9-21) - it was closed and there was nobody there - we've got dining discount coupon which wasn't accepted at the restaurant - room was ok, nothing special, just clean, but windows were in front of several bars/restaurants which were quite noisy at night. In general, wouldn't recommend this place, there are better options in the same area.

Location is excellent, close to all the great restaurants and can walk to the church in about 10 min. Very close to bus stop 1 and 3 for tours. Room was excellent and clean. There is a bakery around the corner to grab breakfast.

Perfect location in old part of Reykjavik; very quiet and next to bus stop #3 which makes it easy in regards to airport transfer and excursions pick up. There are also lovely restaurants very close to hotel. Hotel was very clean and I loved my room with wood flooring and heated bathroom floor. Check in was easy but they charged me Euro 50 for early check in even though the hotel was pretty much empty. Breakfast was ok, nothing special and the exact same each day; wish there was a better bread selection. Unfortunately, they make you pay extra for espresso, cappuccino etc. Overall, I enjoyed my stay at the hotel Borg very much and can recommend it for a memorable stay in Reykjavik.

Perfect location on the historic square/park that includes Parliament House. Very walkable to all the major things to see, including the primary shopping and entertainment street. Hotel is in wonderful shape - Art Deco details are impressive. Major downside is lack of parking which to be fair is difficult for any hotel in the old part of town.

Great place, clean and great location. My favorite place to stay while in Iceland. Awesome staff! The only thing I recommend approving was the buffet breakfast which was way over priced at 37.00 per person with a lack of food and selection.

The room was spacious, clean and perfect for what we needed. Breakfast was excellent, with a good range and some local options. They also provided us with a breakfast-to-go on the day we checked out as we had to leave before breakfast was available. We intend to revisit Iceland at some point and will definitely be using this hotel again.

Lovely room, definitely worth the upgrade. Fantastic location too, really central. Breakfast was amazing and the staff at breakfast were very friendly. Would stay again without a doubt.

Room was in a totally different building which was weird. Had none of the old traditions or feel to it. Breakfast was very average at best. Got down there at 09.45 on our last day and half the buffer was gone and not replaced with new food. We were told the Breakfast ends in 10min so it’s our problem for coming late. Cleaning was ok, bed wasn’t made properly, just loosely made up. Definitely not the hotel of old

Second time here - love the location, helpful staff and condition of the property with nice rooms. Biggest disappointment this time was the breakfast for which we paid extra - served in sterile ballroom with meager selections. Went next door to Apotek Hotel for much better breakfast at same price! Also had dinner there night prior and really liked it!
